DRUNK2
Everyone turned in surprise to see who had fallen to the ground as they all heard a loud thud.
Lying on the ground was Carla as she bent her head in shame. She just couldn’t believe that Layla had the guts to push her to the ground.
“What’s going on here?” Nolan demanded as he approached them. He looked at Layla, who was standing there defiantly, and then at Carla, who was still on the ground, her face red with embarrassment.
“Layla are you alright?” Nolan asked as he held Layla affectionately checking her body for any sign of injury. He sighed in relief when he found none.
“I’m good…” Layla muttered softly. She would have been the one in the ground but thank goodness she was smart enough to put Carla in her place.
If she had fallen, she would have definitely hit the ground with her stomach and that would have been very disastrous for her baby.
And when Carla placed her leg in the way, Layla had seen it, so she pushed Carla instead. She should get what she deserves.
“You should be more careful, you’re pregnant!” Nolan reminds, having a worried look on his face.
Carla felt her face burn in anger as she clenched her fists tight.
She was the one on the ground, not Layla.
But Nolan was busy sympathizing with Layla. He didn’t even spare a glance at her.
Carla’s frustration increased as everyone ignored her while she laid down. In shame.
She was the one who had been hurt, and yet it was like everyone was ignoring her. It was like no one cared about what had happened to her. All they cared about was Layla, who hadn’t even been hurt. It was so unfair!
“I can’t believe this,” Carla muttered, tears welling up in her eyes. “No one even cares that I’m hurt. They’re all just focused on Layla.” She sobbed trying to play a victim.
Layla’s eyes narrowed as Carla changed her contenance. She was being so sarcastic a while ago.
“How did this happen?” Nolan asked as he signaled for a guard to come help Carla stand up from the ground.
Carla even got angrier, he didn’t touch her but sent a guard to do so.
“I think it was an accident..” Layla responded softly.
“You should be more careful Layla, you’re pregnant!” He said with worry in his voice.
“I know..” Layla muttered, butterflies filling her stomach at the affection Nolan was showing towards her. She was not even hurt.
Layla was flattered by the concern in Nolan’s voice.
“How about we get you checked out by a doctor, just to be safe?” Nolan suggested, his brow furrowed with worry.
“No there’s no need..” Layla shook her head.
“I’m fine. I didn’t fall to the ground. Carla did..” They both turned to Carla who looked so angry.
Nolan didn’t utter a sorry to her but yet he suggested taking Layla to the doctor. She wasn’t even hurt.
‘ you’ll pay for this Layla…’ she swore inwardly.
Carla felt a surge of anger and resentment as she watched Layla and Nolan interact.
She felt like she was being ignored and overlooked, even though she was the one who was hurt.
She thought about how she could get back at Layla, and her mind immediately went to revenge. She started thinking of ways to make Layla pay for what she had done.
“You should see a doctor too..” Nolan said to Cara.
“You’ve got to be kidding me Nolan!!” Carla who couldn’t hold back her anger anymore blurted out.
“What?”
“I fell to the ground, not Layla!!!” Carla yelled.
“But you focused your attention on her and didn’t even spare a glance at me, neither did you care to even lift me up off the ground. I’m Carla Nolan!!!” She cried as she faked her sobs.
Before Layla came into their lives, Nolan always made sure nothing happened to her.
“She’s my mate Carla. What are you even saying?” Nolan scoffed. Layla was his first priority.
“Mate my foot!!!” Carla screamed, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.
“What’s even special about her? She’s a weak human….”
“Carla that’s enough!!” Nolan snapped at her in an angry voice as everywhere reigned with silence.
“The last thing I’ll tolerate from you is you calling my queen weak. The night time you utter such a word, it would be considered as blasphemy against the throne and you know what that means, don’t let me remind you” he stated warning Carla and everyone who will ever dare to call Layla weak in the future just because she was human.
“Layla is your queen, so show some respect. The next time, I’ll not overlook the fact that you’re Carla and punish you severely..” he threatened as he turned to the guard.
“Take Carla to the hospital. I think she’s drunk!” Nolan said in sarcasm as he shot a glare at her.
“You all can return to the party…” he announced as everyone returned to what they were doing.
“Come on..” he tugged Layla as he held her hand.
“You should say hi to your subjects…” he smiled warmly at her. Everyone returned to what they were doing as a lot of people congratulated Layla on her new position. Joy and happiness filled the place.
