Chapter 19 Paul Bradford
Chapter 19 Paul Bradford
The people in the restaurant were all in fear. They were guessing who Calvin really was.
Even Selena Bentley respected him so much. He must be a big shot.
Calvin didn’t feel good when he saw Tommy trembling on the ground because he knew Tommy was
scared of Selena, not him.
When Calvin became powerful like Selena, maybe Rita would finally fall in love with him.
But could he?
In the past, he stood no chance. But now it was possible.
He was the heir to the Master Malandra, He could do anything he wanted to do.
Calvin turned to Tommy and said, “I hurt you. Do you think this is reasonable?”
“Yes, it is.”
Calvin continued, “I said before that I want ten of your fingers. There’s still one finger left. What do you
think I should do?”
Tommy was petrified. He didn’t expect Calvin to be so cruel.
Well, he had only one finger left. It was useless for him now.
“You don’t need to do that. I’ll do it myself.”
Tommy grabbed a knife and cut off that finger.
Blood gushed out and Tommy Marks passed out.
Calvin didn’t seem to feel a thing. But when he turned to Selena, he was already smiling gently.
“Miss Bentley, thank you for getting us out of this trouble.”
Selena rolled her eyes in her mind. He didn’t need her to get out of trouble.
“Miss Bentley, I want to ask something. Do you know anything about Chelston Healthcare?”
Selena nodded, “Kind of. We’ve cooperated before.”
Calvin looked at Rita and was hyped up, “Great! Can you tell me the address?”
Selena was confused, “Why do you wanna know that?”
“There’s a project I want to talk about with them.”
“Oh, I also have a meeting in Chelston Healthcare. I’ll give you a ride.”
“Cool.”
...
Rita actually didn’t want to mess around with Calvin. But when she thought of the way Selena held him
in the morning, she felt jealous and got in the car with them.
On the way, Selena told him a lot of information about Chelston Healthcare and what kind of person Mr.
Bradford was.
To sum up, he loved money and women.
When they arrived, Selena headed for the meeting and Calvin and Rita came to the reception desk.
“Hi, I’d like to meet the director of the Business Department, Mr. Bradford.”
The receptionist didn’t even bother to look up. She asked impatiently, “Do you have an appointment?”
“No.”
“No? Then you can’t meet him.”
“Well, how can I see him?”
The receptionist lost her patience, “Why are you being stubborn like a dog? I said you can’t meet him.
Go back to where you came from.
”
Just as Rita was about to talk back to her, someone suddenly said from behind, “You’re looking for
me?”
Calvin turned around and it was a bald man in his forties.
“Are you Mr. Bradford?” Rita asked gently.
Rita got his attention and then he was stunned by her beauty.
What a masterpiece...
As one of the famous enterprises in Chelston, Chelston Healthcare offered liberal wages and benefits.
Paul was one of the company executives. A lot of women would throw themselves at him just to get
into Chelston Healthcare.
But none of them were as beautiful as Rita.
She wore little makeup but her pretty face was still stunning. Her dark long hair looked great on her.
What attracted Paul the most was her perfect hourglass-shaped body.
Even though they were a few meters away, Paul Bradford could still smell the intriguing scent on Rita.
This scent was luring. He couldn’t sense it when he tried to but he could feel it when he breathed.
Rita looked like she just turned twenty but she gave him a vibe that only women in their late twenties
possessed.
In a word, she was innocent, elegant, yet slutty.
Calvin gave a cough. Selena was right, Paul was a creepy old bastard.
“Mr. Bradford, we are the representatives of The Houston's Clinic. We came here so we could discuss
about the outsourcing project of St. Louis Hospital...”
Paul was annoyed when Calvin interrupted him.
“We’ve just got that project and we will find a suitable clinic for further cooperation. But now I’m kind of
busy. I don’t have time for this.”
Paul shifted his eyes on Rita again. Calvin knew he was lying. He just didn’t want to talk to him.
He quietly stood in front of Rita and smiled, “Mr. Bradford, could you let me show you some information
about The Houston's Clinic for reference?”
Paul couldn’t see Rita and his sight was blocked by Calvin when he tried to tilt his head.
“I said I’m busy. Just put the files on the front desk and wait for my call. Miss, I don’t know your name
yet...”
“Rita Houston.”
“Your name is beautiful, just like you. Miss Houston, you’re the director of The Houston's Clinic, right?
Why don’t you leave me your contact information and I’ll carefully consider your clinic?”
Rita had no choice but to give him her business card.
When she passed it to her, that bastard deliberately touched her hand.
Seeing him creepy and disgusting like that, Calvin really wanted to slap him in his face.
Paul was indeed busy so Calvin had to find another chance to talk.
When they returned home, Rita told Carrie that Chelston Healthcare had got the outsourcing project of
St.
Louis Hospital. Carrie felt quite disappointed.
“Since Chelston Healthcare had won, we have no chance in the bidding. If we get involved in this
project, our clinic would benefit a lot.”
Calvin suddenly chipped in, “Mom, rest assured, I’ll get us into this project.”
Carrie was about to give up. Now that Calvin made a promise to them, Carrie was even more annoyed.
Carrie rolled her eyes, “What can you possibly do about this project? If you can really do that, we don’t
have to be in this position in the Houston family. Stop exaggerating, loser.”
“Why are you still here? Make us dinner now! You want to starve me?”
Calvin silently went to the kitchen.
Rita felt sorry for him. Calvin hadn’t had a rest since they went out this morning.
And Carrie just came home from the mall.
“Mom, Calvin told me that this is the first job you handed to him. He doesn’t want to give up so easily.”
But Carrie didn’t care at all, “You think I want to give that job to him? He was the one who went crazy
and wanted to divorce you. I was just teaching him a lesson that he is nothing without the Houston
family. Too bad that we just wasted such a good opportunity. It’s all his fault. What a loser!”
Carrie was still calling him a loser. Rita got mad and raised her volume.
“Mom, why can’t you just trust him for once? You call him a loser yet you never give him an opportunity
to prove himself. You’re being unreasonable.”
Carrie was irritated by her own daughter, “You called me unreasonable? Are you taking his side? I am
the person who raised you! Fine, he can go if he wants too. I won’t stop him.”
“You said I never give him any opportunities? This project concerns hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I’ll hand this to him. This is a big opportunity for him, right? Otherwise, I would just ask Vincent for help.
He knew Dr. Peters well. If it were him, he would’ve succeeded a long time ago. Never mind, I’ll ask
mother for help. If I ask Vincent, your aunt would definitely make fun of me. We all have a son-in-law.
Why is ours such a loser?”
Rita couldn’t stand listening to her. She returned to her room. On the way, she peeked at Calvin in the
kitchen.
He must be pretty upset right now. But she couldn’t tell.
Anyone else would be furious if they were in the same position. Of course Calvin would be upset.
But he just sucked it up, even though he had proved that he wasn’t a loser.
What kept him tolerating the injustice he was face with?
Rita suddenly felt sad for him.
What happened to her? She was the one who always wanted a divorce.
Was it because Calvin brought it up first? Was she too proud to accept that? Or...was she unwilling to
divorce him in the first place?
