My Repentant Brothers (Madeline Larson)

Chapter 348

Madeline knew Lucas had decent resources in the company, but that's all they were-just decent.

A minor celebrity who gets too full of themselves is bound to fall. Don't try to negotiate with your agency. If they put you on hold, there are plenty of others ready to step in. The entertainment industry is never short on attractive people. "But..."

"Stop nagging, it's really annoying," Madeline frowned.

Lucas fell silent, not daring to speak. His sister could be fierce, but that seemed normal.

But seriously, Madeline handled those two really well today.

At the hospital, as soon as Rose woke up, she felt uncomfortable everywhere. Her body ached... it felt like i was being torn

apart.

She felt strange, rubbed her forehead, caught the smell of disinfectant, and realized she was lying in a hospital.

"How did I end up in the hospital?" she asked, confused. "Wasn't I just at the restaurant? Then I drank too much..."

Suddenly, some hard-to-describe images flashed through her mind, and her face went pale with shock as her hands started to tremble uncontrollably. 'Did she really end up with Farrell and his people...?' she wondered. "Rose," the nurse came over to check on her. "You're awake? I've already contacted the police. They're coming to take your statement. Is that alright with you?"

The nurse's eyes had a hint of something unusual in them, but her professional demeanor kept her from showing much expression.

People were whispering and pointing at the doorway.

"Isn't that Rose? I told you I saw her being brought here. I heard those guys were real creeps, and she was bleeding heavily when they brought her in..."

"That's really frightening, isn't it? Wow, some people will do anything to become famous."

"Let's take a picture as proof. My boyfriend really likes her, says she's all pure and innocent, but isn't she just fake?"

Rose held onto her blanket, her eyes showing fear. "Close the door!""

The nurse went over and shut the door, leaving Rose alone in the room.

Rose felt chill run through her body. "No way, I wouldn't do that. How could I get involved with such disgusting people? Why did this happen?"

Rose grabbed her head in pain, low sobs coming from her throat.

Her phone was nearby, but it was turned off. Rose didn't dare to touch it. She was afraid... afraid that she'd be bombarded with insults as soon as she turned it on! Rose vaguely remembered the door of the booth being closed, then those filthy men coming towards her, hands everywhere, some even holding bottles...

At that time, her mind was foggy, and she couldn't tell who was who. It was an earth-shattering tragedy for her! She didn't dare to recall it; every memory made her nauseous.

Her acting career was destroyed; everybody knew about it. Even if others weren't aware, the police had all seen the surveillance footage she had prepared in advance.

"Ah!" Rose broke down completely, "Why is it like this, why? It was supposed to be Madeline, why is it me?" she cried, confused and upset.

"Knock, knock, knock," the door opened and two female officers walked in.

They were all business, with serious expressions, holding notebooks. "Hello, Rose, we need your cooperation. We have some questions to ask you."

'I'm innocent, I'm the victim! You need to help me, help clear my name, and bring those scumbags to justice!" Rose nearly spat out the words, filled with anger and frustration from what she had suffered. How dare they? she thought.

"I was drugged..." Rose bit her lip, closing her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks, looking both humiliated and innocent.

If the police hadn't seen the video and chat logs, they might have been fooled by her pathetic appearance. "Describe what happened, and we'll make our own judgment. You were reported this afternoon for organizing a make prostitution gathering. If you don't explain clearly, you might get arrested for it."

"What?" Rose's eyes widened in disbelief. "No, that's not true, how could that be?"

She couldn't figure out who reported it, but the only person she could think of was Madeline. 'If Madeline hadn't been aware ahead of time, she wouldn't have left early or avoided the drug's effects. So, was this Madeline's scheme to set me up?' she thought. "I'm truly innocent. You can test my blood to detect the presence of drugs..."

"But... there's a purchase record of this drug under your name, and it's found in both your bag and Chloe's bag, in divided doses. Can you explain that?" the person said, seated on a stool, rapidly jotting down notes with a pen.

Rose kept silent. If she admitted she was trying to set up Madeline, what would happen then? It would probably only make things worse...

"Will this be reported?"

"That's not clear, and it's not something you should worry about now. Right now, investigating you is the most important thing."

"In the same group, Chloe is so badly injured that she hasn't regained consciousness yet, while the other men admitted you invited them. The chat logs on their phones confirm it, so the evidence is concrete."

Rose shut her eyes, feeling completely hopeless. "If it's not the PC, then... those directors with influence forced me into this. You know how it is in the entertainment industry; sometimes things are out of your control. I'm a victim here..."

"I can prove that Farrell has oppressed and harassed me multiple times," Rose said calmly. Being smart, she realized that with solid evidence, further arguing was pointless. Her only option was to portray herself as a victim. Otherwise, she might end up getting arrested.

It only took Rose a few minutes to clear her mind completely. "We must bring people like him to justice. Farrell has a criminal record you can verify. He even drove a girl to her death-I'm just one of his many victims."

After the questioning, everyone left the room. Rose was completely worn out and her back was covered in cold sweat. She didn't even bother to turn her phone on.

When the nurse came by, she asked, "How's Chloe doing? The one who was admitted together with me?"

"Oh, her... her injuries are severe, and she might lose her ability to have children," the nurse hesitated before continuing. "She's awake now and crying, unable to accept this fact. But don't worry about yourself; you just have a few tears but nothing more serious."

Rose nodded, "I understand."

She finally turned on her phone, finding countless missed calls. Among them was only one text, from the rich guy she had been seeing, hoping to eventually marry him. He texted her, saying she was disgusting and that they should break up. Rose couldn't stop her tears from falling again. Her promising life had been completely ruined...
