Chapter 51
Chapter 51
Chapter 51 Out of Juice
At this moment.
The kidnapper’s cell phone rang.
He glanced at the rearview mirror and smiled maliciously.
Then, he lit a cigarette, picked up the call, and put it on
speakerphone.
“Why are you so sluggish? Where are you?”
An impatient voice from a man rang out.
“I’ll be there in 20 minutes. That little bitch got me, and I dealt
with her just now.”
“You mean you slept with her?” The man shouted.
“Of course not! How dare I sleep with her before Arlan does?”
Athena listened to their indecent and lewd conversation.
Gazing down, she tried hard to restrain the disgusted feeling.
Then, she slowly reached into the handbag beside her.
Athena once told Evie that she would go on a business trip to Salin City, which was quite a remote
place. And most importantly, she was going there alone.
Evie was worried, so she stuffed a mini taser into Athena’s
handbag.
“That stupid bitch tried to call the police just now,” The kidnapper continued.
“I guess she doesn’t know that Arlan and the chief of the local police station are good friends!”
Athena’s heart sank.
The kidnapper glanced at Athena through the rearview mirror
again.
His gaze was contemptuous and mocking.
“Alright. Come to wait at the intersection and wait. She’ll be
ours after Arlan deals with her.”
The kidnapper said.
Then, he was ready to start the car.
Athena gritted her teeth.
She could never let him start the car. Otherwise, she would be in danger if she stunned him later.
Therefore, she took the opportunity and dashed toward the
kidnapper.
The kidnapper was also very alert, but Athena was faster.
“How dare…”
Before he could finish his words, his neck suddenly went
numb, and his eyes became empty. Then, he passed out
instantly.
“Jackie? Jackie! What’s wrong?”
The other man shouted anxiously on the other end.
Athena hung up the phone expressionlessly.
She threw her handbag onto the passenger seat.
Then, she got out of the car, dragged the unconscious kidnapper down, and threw him to the side of
the road.
This kind of mini taser could only stun him for a short while.
So before Athena got into the car, she stunned him a few
more times.
She then hurried into the car and locked the door.
The kidnapper’s cell phone rang non-stop.
Athena ignored it and took out the mobile phone that had
been turned off.
Just as she turned it on, someone dashed toward her.
Athena never expected the effect of the mini taser to be so
weak.
Before she could think about anything else, she stepped on the accelerator and drove away.
The kidnapper was caught off guard and rolled on the
ground.
When he got up and tried to chase after Athena, she had already long gone.
Athena had never run for her life before, and she drove as
quickly as possible.
She couldn’t help but think about what the kidnappers had
said on the phone just now.
Thus, she didn’t call the police rashly.
If what they had said was true, she would put herself at risk
again.
Athena glanced outside.
She hadn’t realized that the kidnapper had taken her to such
a remote place.
The surrounding area was deserted.
Besides, the car was low on fuel.
And most importantly, the accomplices of the kidnappers should be nearby.
Athena thought for a while and immediately called Gideon.
But meanwhile,
Gideon was at a dinner party.
“Mr. Hale, we’re so grateful to you and Athena. If it weren’t for
your kindness, we would never be given another chance…”
Gideon already had a lot of wine.
He waved his hands and said,
“I can’t take this credit. Athena…”
The whole place was bustling and noisy.
Gideon placed his phone face down on the table, and all the
calls and messages were automatically blocked.
Athena made two phone calls, but she failed to reach him.
She hadn’t charged her phone all day, and it was almost out
of juice.
And there was no charging cable in the car.
And even worse, Athena saw several cars appear in the
distance.
They all rushed toward her as if they were chasing after her.
Athena hesitated for a moment.
Then, she called Byron immediately.
