Preslie was speechless.

She had some choice words to say to Tremaine, but right now, she couldn't.

It wasn't because she was afraid of how powerful Tremaine was, she was just restraining herself.

She could see Tremaine's deep affection for Yesseca and how regretful he was.

Just then she thought, "I should agree to help him."

But then she quickly rejected the idea.

Tremaine looked straight into Preslie's eyes and said, "Preslie, if you agree to help me with this, I will grant anything you request. Whatever you want."

She had outright refused Tremaine's request.

Preslie was quiet.

She found Tremaine acting very strangely tonight. He had never been this polite to her before. She was quite uncomfortable seeing the domineering Tremaine being so nice to her.

She said, "I've lost my appetite. I'm leaving. As for helping you talk to Yesseca, that's not going to happen. There's no way for me to even bring this up with her."

Preslie was worried that Tremaine might suggest something else, so she quickly stood up, opened the door and left.

Tremaine didn't go after her.

As he saw Preslie storm out of the private room, he began to laugh bitterly.

His laughter sounded lonely and bitter.

He really messed up this time!
