Chapter 94
Chapter 94
Chapter 94 Pretending Not To Know Christopher He was about to get on his knees to beg for forgiveness when he saw Christopher shaking his head.
The latter also placed a finger to his lips silently. At once, Tyler realized Christopher didn’t want to
expose his identity. Ah, I’ll have to pretend I don’t know Christopher!
No one realized the change in his reaction. Douglas was busy trying to explain himself.
Tyler gave a dismissive wave. “Ah, forget it.”
With that, he turned to leave, his legs still shaking in fear. He had to hold the wall for support and
pretend to wonder where he should go for dinner.
After learning that Tyler had given up, Douglas heaved a sigh of relief and said hastily, “Thank you for
being considerate, Mr. Wheeler.”
“Not bad, Douglas,” Fabian praised him at once. He wouldn’t feel humiliated as long as they could still
stay in the room.
“Of course. Even Mr. Wheeler has to show my boyfriend respect. But if Christopher were in his shoes,
the results would have been totally different!” Scarlett chimed in proudly.
Christopher couldn’t stop himself from snorting silently. Tyler isn’t giving Douglas respect. He was
scared shitless after seeing me.
Erisa recognized Tyler at first sight. She lifted her head to look at Christopher curiously. “Christopher,
isn’t he the bad guy you beat up that night?”
Realizing that she had let her tongue slip, Erisa quickly covered her mouth with her hand.
“That’s utter nonsense! Who brought her here? What if we get into trouble because of her?” Scarlett
barked upon hearing the little girl’s words.
“Yeah, that’s right. Christopher, you’re a soldier. How could you teach a kid to lie? What a despicable
trick,” Fabio mocked once he got the chance to do so.
Even Frank gave Christopher a glare. How could he teach Erisa to lie? Seeing that, Christopher
grinned and responded, “Erisa must’ve seen it wrongly.”
“Ha! Julianna, look at your husband. He’s a retired soldier, but he taught a kid to lie! If I were you, I’d be
embarrassed.”
Scarlett wasn’t about to stop mocking Julianna. A while ago, Julianna had managed to gain the upper
hand, but Erisa’s words had given her the chance to turn the tables.
“Hey!” Julianna huffed.
Christopher was pretty upset, too. He didn’t mind if they insult him, but there was no way he’d allow
them to insult Julianna.
“Erisa might’ve gotten the wrong person, but I do know Mr. Wheeler,” Christopher revealed with a low
chuckle.
“Pfft! What a joke!”
Everyone in the room burst out laughing at his words. Fabian and his family were practically in fits.
This was the biggest joke of the day!
Despite having humiliated himself earlier, Douglas felt his discomfort disappear into thin air after
hearing Christopher’s words. What happened previously to me isn’t as humiliating as Christopher’s
current situation. Ha! How dare he claim that he knows Tyler Wheeler? Tyler was born into a rich and
influential family with a net worth of hundreds of millions!
“Are you a fool, Christopher? Do you seriously think we’ll believe you? Why didn’t you say a word
earlier? You only told us about it after Mr. Wheeler left,” Scarlett roasted him without holding back.
“You know nothing, Scar. I know Jeff Bezos, too, but he doesn’t know who I am!” Fabio chimed in
cockily.
Fabian said nothing and stared at Christopher as though the latter was a fool. Both Frank and Cindy
were about to throw a fit. They had gained the upper hand over Fabian’s family earlier, but Christopher
just had to ruin things for them.
“Shut up! I’ll teach you a lesson back home!” Frank hissed through his teeth.
“Julianna, your family is also worth millions. Why don’t you let Christopher continue his studies? Are
you afraid you can’t afford the fees? I still have some savings. We can fork out the money and donate it
to him. After all, we’re a family!” Scarlett ridiculed.
Hearing her words, Christopher scoffed inwardly. As he was sitting across from the window, he saw
Tyler panting heavily outside. It was obvious that Tyler was still frightened by their previous encounter.
Christopher coughed and yelled, “Mr. Wheeler, are you out there? I’m Christopher Yaeger. Come on in
and have a drink with me!”
