Chapter 1593: Persistence
Chapter 1593: Persistence
When Kian spoke, his voice was normal, but Ayan and Camille were already lying in bed, and the quiet atmosphere of the night meant that Camille naturally heard Kian's question.
Ayan held his phone without any change in expression. His face remained calm as he asked in a cool tone, "What problem has arisen with the project?"
Ayan's normal questioning tone made Camille not think much of it.
After listening, Kian immediately understood that Ayan was not very convenient at the moment.
Kian lowered his voice, "Mr. Simpson, there's an issue with one of the company's projects. I'd like to discuss it with you in detail."
Ayan responded with a hum, then lifted the covers. He covered the phone with one hand and said to Camille, "I'll go to the study to handle some work matters."
Camille nodded lightly without asking further, as it was common for urgent matters to arise suddenly.
Ayan went directly to the study, while Camille picked up her phone to chat with Sienna, not thinking much about Ayan taking a call.
In the study.
After entering and closing the door, Ayan finally said to Kian, "What's the matter?"
Kian's tone remained somewhat anxious, with a hint of gravity in his voice. He said, "Mr. Simpson, Crystal just called me. She said someone from the Bill family is looking to collaborate with Preston. She hasn't figured out what the collaboration is about yet."
Crystal had only learned about this today because Preston was currently in Flento City. After her competition ended, Crystal returned to Flento City and accidentally discovered her uncle meeting Preston alone The two had no prior connection, so why were they suddenly meeting?
Crystal didn't dare to think further or delay any longer and immediately contacted Kian.
Since Kian's phone was on silent mode during work hours, he missed several calls from Crystal until half an hour ago when he checked his phone and noticed it was still on silent.
After hearing what Crystal said, Kian was also a bit shocked and immediately contacted Ayan.
Ayan asked, "Did Crystal say this herself? Does she have any evidence?"
Kian replied, "She has a photo. It's indeed Preston because Elijah also confirmed that Preston is not in Hance City. Our information also indicates he's in Flento City now, so there's no mistake."
Initially, they thought Preston's purpose in Flento City was solely related to the Walker family. Now it seemed more complicated.
Kian's expression was a bit tense, "If the Bill family really collaborates with Preston, Mr. Simpson, it would be very disadvantageous for us."
"What did Crystal say?"
"She said she would keep an eye on her uncle and try to find out what connection he has with Preston."
"Recently, try to minimize contact with Crystal and avoid leaving any evidence." Ayan didn't believe the Bill family had the guts for this. If they really wanted to use Preston to approach Camille, it would actually be advantageous for him because given Camille's current attitude towards Preston, Preston wouldn't succeed.
What truly worried Ayan wasn't Preston but Crystal. If Crystal turned against them now, he would be at a loss.
Crystal had appeared around Camille more than once or twice. Camille already had a good impression of her and they had exchanged contact information. If Crystal really wanted to say something privately to Camille, he seemed powerless to stop it.
Ayan told Kian to keep an eye on Crystal and let her handle the Bill family matters.
The old Simpson's issues had already exhausted him today, and now with the Bill family's situation arising, he was naturally tired.
He put down his phone without rushing back to the bedroom, holding a cigarette but not lighting it.
He stayed in the study for a while before returning to the bedroom.
Camille hadn't slept yet; he had been gone for half an hour.
She asked with concern, "Did something happen?"
It was already eleven o'clock; it must be something important if they called at this hour.
Ayan walked to the bedside and lay down, gently pulling her into his arms. He said, "Just a minor issue, nothing major. Sleep?"
Camille hummed in response and didn't ask further. After all, nothing seemed too difficult for him.
A dreamless night passed. The next morning at the company, Ayan asked Kian again about last night's matter after a meeting.
Kian relayed Grystal's words.
According to Crystal, the Bill family
was very chaotic. Crystal's parents had three children: two older brothers and herself. Crystal's father had three brothers; he was the eldest, followed by two younger brothers and two sisters
The Bill family was a large family with many members and many schemes.
Currently, Crystal's father held the family's power. Naturally, everyone flattered Crystal's family but secretly always wanted to seize power.
However, Crystal's grandfather favored and trusted her father because the two uncles were unreliable, having caused scandals with illegitimate children and mistresses multiple times.
The old Simpson didn't want his lifelong legacy ruined by such wastrels. Moreover, the Bill family had already weakened significantly and couldn't afford further deterioration.
As for the two aunts, Crystal didn't say much about them, so Kian didn't know either.
Instead, Ayan asked, "The old Simpson has so many children?"
Kian was also taken aback but didn't think much of it. He just said, "That's what I found out and confirmed with Crystal."
It wasn't surprising that the Bill
family had many children. Given

their background, it was easy to fabricate reasons for having many children. So those close relatives also took advantage of their, connection to Crystal's grandfather to have many children.
In theory, having so many children shouldn't make much difference. But why were Crystal and the Bill family so persistent?
This question puzzled Ayan for a long time. Although he had been investigating other members of the Bill family, some things even Crystal might not know much about, let alone the servants. Ayan squinted slightly, his eyes revealing a hint of confusion.
Kian instinctively looked at Ayan and curiously asked, "Mr. Simpson, did you think of something?"
Ayan didn't answer this question. He put away his expression and emotions and simply told Kian, "They'll come at nine o'clock to discuss recruitment matters. Arrange for the project team to gather in the conference room."
Kian nodded, "Okay."
Kian was very serious about work matters.
The recruitment notice had already been issued, but actually several companies hadn't sat down to discuss it properly yet.
At nine o'clock sharp, everyone appeared in Ayan's conference room.
After everyone sat down one by one, they began discussing recruitment matters.
Regardless of how recruitment was conducted, the procedures were generally similar; everyone presented their work.
No one had much to say about this
matter. The only issue raised was by Mario: "The SynergyCon project incident served as a warning for us. Besides taking it seriously, we also need to conduct strict evaluations of internal personnel; otherwise, it's hard to ensure such incidents won't happen again."
"Mr. King's meaning?" Ayan asked calmly.
