As soon as Brian’s name came up, Lyndon’s expression turned sour.

Worried he wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight, he figured a bit of wine might help.

“Drinking down your sorrow by yourself?” Rosalynn inquired, a note of concern in her voice.

Lyndon looked at her and offered, “How about joining me?”

Rosalynn was taken aback and pointed to herself.

She remembered she was pregnant.

Lyndon offered a smile.

“You can have water, and I’ll stick to wine.

Rosalynn pondered for a moment then agreed, “Sure.

Lyndon set aside the bottle and his glass, took Rosalynn’s glass from her, and filled it with water.

Rosalynn sat at the table, opened a bottle, and poured a glass of wine for Lyndon.

Lyndon came over and handed her a glass of water.

Lyndon’s expression softened as he watched her pour the wine.
