Chapter 16: You Wanna Steal My Boyfriend Again
With the efficient help of You Ze, Shiyao returned to work after four days off.
Instead of punishing her for the photo crisis, the company revoked her three points deduction to make up for her excessive flight hours.
At company cafeteria, Shiyao saw Ji Manqing wearing a long face and deliberately came up to greet her with a smile, “Hi, Manqing, you’re here.”
“Hmm.” Seeing Shiyao was so happy, Ji Manqing sourly curled her lips.
‘It’s a sure thing that Shiyao will be punished, which can’t be changed even if her boyfriend calls the company to explain. Isn’t it…?’
“Yaoyao, does your boyfriend’s company have any relationship with ours?” Ji Manqing tentatively asked, still smiling, “No offense. I just feel your boyfriend loves you so much.”
Shiyao nodded.
Fortunately, only the senior managers in company knew You Ze, or Shiyao didn’t know to cover the lie.
“Which company?” Ji Manqing asked and managed a smile.
“You wanna steal my boyfriend again?” Shiyao stared at Ji Manqing with a half- smile until her face sank, and then tapped her on the shoulder, laughing.
“Just kidding. I know you won’t. Time to eat. Tell you next time!”
Then Shiyao walked away without hesitation.
Looking at her back, Ji Manqing felt awful and slowly clenched her fists.
Ji had thought that Shiyao would be transferred to the economy class of domestic flight for the photo crisis, which, however, proved to be a blessing in disguise: she hooked up with such an excellent man within a few days!
Although the food was elaborate, Ji Manqing had no appetite to eat anything.
Someone at the table behind her seemed to be discussing that the CA was pregnant and might take maternity leave.
When Ji Manqing accidently heard it was the CA of Shiyao’s group, she hit upon an idea, and then picked up her plate, went to join them. “Hi, sister Ji.”
Unable to fly during pregnancy, the CA of Shiyao’s group asked for a long leave, so company sent another one to help them.
To Shiyao’s surprise, the new CA was Ji Manqing.
Ji Manqing was socially intelligent, and as a CA she never put on airs, so she got acquainted with members in Shiyao’s group within two days.
While Shiyao turned a blind eye to her. Shiyao always stayed in the first class and hardly had chance to see her anyhow.
After another return flight, Shiyao cleared the cabin, signed the checklist, and then got off the plane with her luggage. On the way her cell phone in pocket rang.
Shiyao took out her phone and saw a short message from a strange phone number.
“Are your free on Thursday? I take you to dinner? (You Ze).”
Shiyao felt ill at ease at the name in the brackets.
‘What the hell! I just don’t want to eat with the CEO!’
Shiyao immediately rejected him on the grounds that she was too busy, and put the phone in pocket to leave when someone was calling her from behind. Shiyao turned around and found Ji Manqing and another colleague hurried over.
“What’s wrong?” Shiyao asked.
“Yaoyao, have you taken things from the plane?” Ji Manqing looked at her and asked hesitatingly, which puzzled Shiyao.
“Take what?”
The colleague next to Ji manqing said, “Do you think there isn’t camera on the plane, so you can deny your theft? I saw it clearly that you took several wines from the cabinet!”
Shiyao’s face fell as she was branded a thief, “Nonsense! There’s no need for me to steal such common wine at the expense of my reputation.”
The colleague raised her voice, “Admit it! You’ve stole them and put them in your purse! If not, do you dare to show your purse to us?”
Shiyao coldly countered, “Purse is my privacy. Why should I show you?”
“No? You’re afraid!”
