Vladimir
“Just dinner, though,” I cast a promising glance at her already in the car. Today’s conversation made everything clear. She does not know what she wants. She builds fences around herself, but why? When you can just let yourself go and enjoy it? Okay, she doesn’t want to do that in the office. Okay. We’ll fuck in designated places. Like at my place.
“You’re not gonna say no, are you?”
I know you will. You don’t have a choice, baby.
“Lunch?” She asks me again, nervously fixing her hair. I nod silently.
“I guess I can.”
“Maybe?”
“For lunch,” she gritted out through gritted teeth.
“Why do you have such a problem with me? “I asked her irritatedly and started the engine.
“That’s not the point,” Lina turns away.
“What is it?”
“I already told you the reason. Sleeping with the boss is low.”
“So I still need to fire you?” I’ve been watching her carefully for her reaction.
“Vladimir!” She almost snarls at me with her gaze.
“Please, stop it. I really need this job! But do not make me overstep my principles. Give me time! That’s enough!”
“Stop what?”
“Harassing me!”
“Oh!” He burst out laughing.
“When did I ever molest you?”
“You kissed me!”
“You slapped me in the face, and I didn’t say a word, and I apologized.”
“You’re right. I’m sorry.”
“Now we’re getting somewhere. Let’s start over, shall we? I don’t do anything you don’t want me to do, and you stop playing the patriot chick, okay?”
“Vladimir!”
“Rude but true,” he says, and finally we’re moving.
Vladimir
“What cuisine do you prefer?”
“I don’t care at all.”
Given all her modesty and restraint… Oooh, why is it so alluring and turns me on much more than some flamboyant whore? Inaccessibility has always seemed… What am I talking about? She’s really the first one to reject me. The others were ready to spread their legs at the sight of me. Am I getting old or was it just her? We drove in silence, each of us immersed in our own thoughts. I parked in front of a small restaurant.
“How was your brother? “I asked her gallantly opening the door.
“Fine, thank you.”
Lina
I was pleasantly surprised that he remembered that I had a brother. Yes, and I already thought that he would take me to some luxurious place in which I would feel uncomfortable and inappropriate, but once inside I breathed a sigh of relief. Nice atmosphere, not too crowded.
“It’s cozy in here.”
“I knew you’d say that,” the boss snorted, nodding to the farthest table.
Slowly I moved, realizing that my stomach was twisting into a knot inside. Not a crumb in my mouth today, and I was so nervous… Sitting down on a chair, I watched as Vladimir sat down across from me, taking the menu in his hands. And really, what’s wrong with me? Rich, handsome, sexy… But for something other than fear and resentment, he does not cause anything at all?
“What are you thinking about?” He asked me without looking at me.
“Order according to your taste, ” I said, propping my face with my fist, continuing to look at him.
“All right. But you didn’t answer my question.”
“I think there’s something wrong with me.”
“What do you mean? There is something very much wrong with you.”
It made me roll my eyes and lean back in my chair, watching the waitress approach. They paid me absolutely no attention at all, starting to flirt openly with my boss. When the order was made Vladimir caught my gaze again.
“By the way, I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“For making you nervous and crying. I like your smile much better.”
So there’s a romantic lurking inside? Or does he think that’s what I want to hear? And how do I explain to him that it’s not about words or even actions? And I just don’t like him. Or am I kidding myself?
“Forget it.” I answered glumly. There was a silence. Lingering. They brought me my order. I happily pounced on the food. When the plates were empty, Vladimir asked.
“Maybe some wine? As a damage to the nervous system?”
I involuntarily smiled, admiring the suspension of my tongue. How many girls have passed through your bed and how many more will… Why are you picking on me exactly?!
” Go ahead. But promise me you’ll take me home afterwards and… Don’t do anything stupid!”
“We had a deal.” He smirked, raising his hand and beckoning the waitress.
“How much can I be honest with you, so as not to get kicked out of work? ” I inquired, getting a little bolder after drinking a few large sips of wine.
“What an interesting question.” Vladimir chuckled, filling my glass again.
“How about this? I am always responsible for my words, actions and deeds. And I promise that I won’t fire you, as long as you’re… Wouldn’t mind spending time with me. At least for a chat with a cup of tea or something stronger.”
“At least over conversation,” I repeated stupidly. That sounds strange enough, but okay.
“Every girl would be glad of your company, wouldn’t you?”
“Angelina,” he interrupted me softly.
“My company would be glad every girl, why are you so fiercely opposed?”
I let out a nervous chuckle.
“One-One,” I said with genuine enthusiasm. Yes, I don’t know the answer to that question. Neither does he, apparently. What am I talking about? It’s my “no” that turns him on. Surrender to this man and then work in peace? God, it’s the alcohol…
“Vladimir, I think I’ve had too much to drink and it’s time to go home..”
At once from what I recollect a song of the well-known singer:
It’s time for me to go home! How sweet your voice was
It’s time to go home! # Drive me on, driver, dumb I’m going home
It’s time to go home! Forgive me, my darling
It’s time to go home Drive me home, golden driver
It’s time to go home!
There’s a driver, there’s a car, and there’s a sweet voice, too. Okay, Lina, stop!
“Yeah, sure. Let’s go.”
When I got up, I realized I’d had too much to drink. Oh, my God, did I drink the whole bottle myself? No wonder my knees are so shaky. Vladimir picks me up by the waist, lightly clutching me with his hands and whispers in my ear, blowing his hot breath.
I hope you don’t prefer the floor over my support?
“I won’t.”
As soon as he helps me into the car, my heavy eyelids droop and I drift off to sleep.
