Mated To The Twin Alpha Heirs

Technically

"Oh my goodness! You guys!"

I jolted in fear and shock. I had just woken from sleep to find two pairs of eyes staring at me. Zach and Lucas were in my room. They had scared me. How long had they sat there watching me? "Finally, you're awake."

"Yes. Awake and scared."

"How are you?"

Lucas asked, coming to join me on the bed. I sat up and made space, though the bed was big enough for two persons even lying down.

"I'm okay."

"We heard you're not too fine."

"Who told you guys that?"

"Melissa, your personal maid." "Melissa?"

"Yes."

Melissa had lied for me? But why? I just told her I needed no one to disturb me. Or was that she had to tell thinking it would probably discourage the boys from coming to see me? I'd ask her later. That was the lie I had intended to tell. That I had returned home because I was ill.

"Yes, it's true."

"Was that why you came back home early? You missed your lecture."

Zach commented from his position on the sofa positioned close to the wall opposite my bed. It was a long, soft burgundy seat with three throw pillows on it. "Yes. I had to."

"Though we asked Katelyn."

At the mention of her name, my heart beat increased. My nerves twisted and I felt another emotion - anger. I was angry at her but I could not do anything about it. "What did she say?"

I forced myself to ask. I did not want to talk about her. I wanted to just be and not hear her name. But I was not ready to make the guys suspicious of anything. It was better to just pretend I was okay with her and all. After all, she was more connected to the guys than I was, especially to Aaron. Her cousin was the Beta so it showed she was in a knit-tight relationship with them. I was still new here. I was yet to find my position. But even at that, I knew I did not have it in mind to fight with anyone over anything. I had been nervous to come here at first but when I realized David and his sons had accepted me, I had been happy to have left that life that caused me nothing but sorrow. All I wanted was just to be left alone. To enjoy school and someday graduate and live quietly. But it would seem my fate was to keep meeting people who wanted nothing more than to see me cry. People who hated me without even knowing me.

"She said she had not seen you in class and that she even searched the school for you. She said if we saw you, we should ask why you weren't in the last class."

That liar. The wicked, lying werewolf. That vicious, black-hearted devil. Pretending to care. Pretending to be concerned. That two-faced walking menace. She could deceive the guys but not me. I already knew who she was. Though, I was not going to say. I was not going to tell.

"Alright. Where are the rest of the guys? Aaron and Trenton?"

"Trenton refused to come and Aaron is with dad. Said he'll come check up on you later."

"Okay. What is the time?"

Without waiting for his reply, I checked my phone. It was past eight.

"Ten past eight."

Zach said.

"Yes, I checked my phone already. Have you guys had dinner?"

"The parents said not to eat until you're awake."

"Oh. They are back?"

"Yes. I just told you Aaron is talking to dad downstairs."

"Let's go meet them."

The three of us left my room and we ventured downstairs. David and Aaron were talking. I got closer and heard David talk about a merchandise. They were discussing business for sure. "Good evening, David."

He smiled when he saw me.

"How are you feeling now?"

"I'm getting better."

"You'll not be going to school tomorrow. Take time off and rest. I think your first day was quite overwhelming for you." "But I'm fine, David."

"Not to me, you're not. No school tomorrow."

Well, I could not argue with the Alpha.

"Okay. I will stay home."

"Good."

"Hey Aaron."

I greeted when I caught his stare.

"Hello Katherina. How are you?"

"I'm good."

"You're feeling good now?"

"Yes, getting better."

"That's great."

He smiled. His eyes were relieved.

"Where's mom?"

I asked David.

"She's making dinner. Is this how she is?"

"How?"

"Always kitchen crazy."

I laughed. "What can I say? Mom loves cooking."

"Well, even though we have maids, she still insists on cooking."

"That's how she was raised. Her mother taught her to cook and she came to adapt naturally to it and enjoys it, even."

"I have tried getting her out of there, to come be here with the family but she blatantly refused."

"She's that way. Back in our former pack, she cooks and I take care of the cleaning up."

"Can you cook?"

Zach inquired.

"Nope."

"For real?"

"Yes, Lucas. I did not take that particular trait from her."

"Oh."

Trenton came in then and walked to a single sofa and plopped himself there.

"Dinner is ready, someone should go wake Kathy."

Mom's voice rang over the intercom.

"Girlfriend is here, mom."

"Girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend?"

Mom's intercom voice and David chorused.

"I call her girlfriend and sissy, depends on my mood."

Lucas shrugged, not even batting an eyelid as he made that statement. I felt very embarrassed for some reason. It was different when it was just us both or with the guys. But in the presence of mom and David. Technically, only David was present but to the hearing of mom? It was ridiculous. I wonder what mom would be thinking right now.

"Oh okay."

Mom casually said and her voice was no longer heard.

"You heard her. Let's go to the family dining table."

We bypassed a larger dinning room on our way to dinner. That was when I knew there were two dining rooms in this house but one was strictly for family. No wonder David was comfortably in his robe this morning.
