Hello, Elizabeth!
"To family." Nine glasses clinked in a cheerful mood as we gathered in the family living room.
It was a week later, mom had forgiven me and now, my happy ending was perfect. Also, I had just found out I was pregnant. Aaron and I were yet to break the news to mom and dad, but we were elated about it.
But we had decided to tell it today. Mom as usual was preparing lunch before Baron left, he was leaving today and though, I would want him to stay, he said he had decided to go start life elsewhere and if the Moon Goddess was kind, he would have a second mate.
I also prayed the same for him. Baron seemed kind of lonely, and he had told me in confidentiality that he had actually came home out of the loneliness that he had channeled into anger and returned to gain his own pound of flesh. He had planned to take away Aaron's mate and make him miserable too. I felt pity when he had told me, and I hoped that the Moon Goddess actually granted his wish. I had finally told him he was my first kiss, he had been shocked. I had thought it would be hard for Baron to get associated with me again, after seeing I was his twin brother's mate. But I had been so happy when he had not made a fuss about the whole me and Aaron situation. Another thing that made me happy was seeing him and Aaron discuss like nothing had happened between them.
My next plan was bringing Trenton out of his shell, and making him become as free as Lucas and Zach. He was improving, no doubt, but he was still keeping quiet and withdrawing sometimes.
"So Baron, where will you be going?" Mom asked, Melissa was helping her.
Even though I had told her not to really stress herself, she had still insisted on being my personal maid, saying she did not want anyone to hurt me or try to betray me.
"Where I was before." Baron replied. "I would just start a life there and try to forget about everything. About Stone Shadow pack."
I elbowed him. "Everything?" He was seating next to me while Aaron flanked my other side.
He chuckled. "Sorry, just the ugly incidents."
I nodded satisfactorily.
"I hope you would stay, Baron." Mom voice trembled a bit, her gaze was glossy. Was she about to cry?
"For you step mom, I'll be here when you need me." He stood to go give her a hug, he kissed her cheeks. "Just take good care of dad, hm?"
"Very important." Dad added. He looked pleased by Baron's words.
Mom gave him the stink eye. "What do you mean? Have I not been trying my best?"
"I'm not saying, you are the best." He quickly amended, he was shying away from mom's glare.
Aaron leaned in to whisper. "Is this how we're going to be?"
I chuckled. "We just have to wait and see."
"Don't you think it's time to let them know?" He asked me.
"Alright, let's tell them then."
And as though on cue, Baron returned to his position by my side. Mom and Melissa took their positions as we all gathered for our lunch. Halfway through lunch, Aaron cleared his throat and looked at me. I smiled and nodded.
"You guys should say it already." Lucas groaned.
Aaron and I quirked a surprised brow at Lucas. He shrugged.
"Say what?" Dad looked at the three of us.
"Will you or should I?" Lucas looked at us both.
"How do you know what we want to say?" I inquired.
"Do you really want me to say?" Lucas smirked.
By now, the rest of the table were looking at the three of us in puzzlement. Did Lucas know anything? And if he did, how? I stared intensely at him, nope, he was joking. He was just trying to tease us. "He doesn't know anything." Aaron whispered beside me.
"Exactly."
"Oh, you guys think I don't know." Lucas smiled, then he shrugged.
"I don't think Luke, I know. You know nothing." Aaron said.
"Mom. Dad. Katherina has a bun in her oven, and this bun was put by no other than her mate, Aaron." Lucas revealed.
Aaron and I stared speechless, he knew. We had underestimated him.
"What?! For real?!" Mom had understood, she was radiating happiness and delight right now.
Dad just looked lost. "What does that mean? What bun? Is Aaron a baker?" He eyed Aaron.
I stifled a laugh. Zach, Baron and Trenton were looking at Aaron and I, they too did not understand. Melissa beamed brightly, our relationship was better now. She had apologized for the way she'd treated me, she reached her hand across the table and grabbed mine, congratulating me.
"No dad, I'm not a baker. Katherina is pre..."
"She's pregnant." Once again, Lucas beat us to it.
As soon as understanding dawned on everyone, congratulations and happiness filled the room. The ambience was one of love and family bound by the promise of forever.
Everyone drank to the news and plans were made for a marriage ceremony between Aaron and I, we just looked at each other and laughed. We allowed them make plans, it was mostly mom, Lucas, dad and Melissa.
"I think it's high time I handed over to you since you've proven you're now a man." Dad told Aaron.
"Congratulations bro, soon to be Alpha and brother." Baron hit him on the back playfully.
Conversations and merry tones carried through the table, I could not be happier. Life was panning out well for me.
Soon, it was time for Baron to leave. I shed some tears, mom too. The boys looked quite sad, even Aaron. Dad hugged and wished him well.
I was really going to miss him. He carried his bag and was proceeding to the main door, when suddenly, the door was pushed open from the outside and mom screamed in shock...
"Hello, Elizabeth."
