Mated To My Alpha Brother

Chapter 14

“You jerk! Will you wake up? How can you lying here like a log of wood? Everyone is waiting… Mia is waiting, I’m waiting. I’m really going to lose it if you don’t wake up, and just know, that you’re dead once you wake up. I’ll kill you with my own hands so just wake up you bastard!” Jabi shouted.

“Stop making me miserable and wake up!” She shouted again. She got frustrated. It has been like three weeks now since he has been lying there, in a vegetative state.

The surgery was successful so why was he still lying there. As she was venting out her frustration, her phone rang.

To her surprise, it was alpha Lian. Why would he call her?

“Is Mia with you?” He asked as soon as she accepted the call. Jabi was confused for a moment. “What? She hasn’t branched here today.” She replied.

“Okay.” He replied and hung the call. He was restless

*Where could she have gone?* Julian thought, as he ransacked his brain, trying to think of where she could have gone to. She had no close friends except for Axel and Jabi. Then one person ran across his mind. The guy he saw with her the other day.

He became unsettled as he searched around for his car keys.

“Babe calm down, I’m sure she’s okay. Mia is not a kid.” Rosie said, trying to tie him down.

“Are you serious right now? My sister is missing and you tell me to calm down?” He shouted.

“What I meant was–” Rosie tried clarifying herself but he cut her off.

“Keep your opinions to yourself. She matters to me most in this world, if you must care to know.” He said and ran out of the house.

Rosie scoffed and then smirked. Then she picked up her phone, to make phonecalls.

“Stop right there! Who are you guys?” Alexander confronted the three guys, who had Mia with them. He didn’t know them.

“Ugh.. why do peeps keep meddling in out business.” One of them said, as he ran his fingers into his unwashed hair.

“Just go your way, mind your business!” Another guy said.

Alexander sneered. “I refuse to.” He replied.

“Then you must really want to see what we can do.” One of the guys said and swung a pocket knife at Alexander.

He dodged it and retaliated. They fought for some minutes and he knocked him out.

The next one came, at a full speed, ready to bring Alexander down with an iron rod. He succeeded in hitting the rod on Alex on the back, like thrice.

Alexander got it together and knocked him out too. Unexpectedly, the third guy brought out a full loaded gun and aimed at Alexander’s forehead.

“Hands up!” He said and Alexander had no choice but to surrender.

“You better mind your business… turn around.” He ordered and slowly, reluctantly, Alex turned away from him.

He saw that the guy was trying to get away with Mia but he couldn’t do anything, because the gun was still pointed at him. He saw it all in the reflection of the glass wall at a dead end.

A call came in, on the guy’s phone.

“Hello.”

“Lucio where are you? You need to get out with that girl now! Her brother is heading there.” A female voice said from the other line.

“Okay, I’ll be out n–” The guy didn’t get to finish his statement as a kick landed on back. It was Lian. He kicked him from the back, making the guy to stagger and fall, with Mia.

Mia winced. She hit the floor with a certain force ’cause the guy hung her on his shoulder.

Lian started throwing blows on the guy endlessly. When Mia groaned loudly, he stopped and rushed to her. Alexander rushed to her at that same moment.

*I was right… She must’ve been with him.* Lian thought, as they stared into each other’s eyes daringly.

A blinding ray of light shone directly into Mia’s eyes as she struggled to open them.

She groaned gently as she sat up.

“You’re awake.” A voice beamed up. It was Jabi.

Mia looked around and noticed she was in the hospital, inside Axel’s VIP room. His bed was about 5 meters away.

“What happened?” She asked, trying to figure out what happened in her head.

“What do you mean? I heard you had an upset stomach and passed out.”

Just then, memories from last night came rushing.

“Right. I passed out and….” Mia drawled away as she wasn’t sure of what to say.

“And what?” Jabi asked curiously. “Never mind.” Mia cut her off.

“By the way… did Lian come here, by chance?” Mia asked softly, her words one by one.

“Nah… I haven’t seen him around. That’s weird though, Alexander said he knew about you being hospitalized.” Jabi said with a puzzled look, which she wore off the next second.

Mia’s shoulders dropped out of disappointment. ‘Does distancing mean he shouldn’t come around when I’m sick?’ She thought innerly.

“Wait did you say Alexander?” Mia asked and Jabi nodded.

That same minute, a young man of 19, dressed in a white hoodie and black joggers with a white pair of sneakers to match, stepped into the VIP room, with a red lunch back in his hand.

ALEXANDER DAVIS.

“Hey guys.” He greeted.

“Hi Xander… have you come to see this Missy beside me?” She asked in a different accent and he laughed.

“Hi Mia.”

“Hey.” Mia replied simply.

“I brought you luncheon.” He said as he dropped the lunch bag on the drawer beside her bed.

“Thanks.” She smiled.

“Oh really? Aww.. that’s so nice of you. At least she won’t feel abandoned like some stray cat.” Jabi ran her mouth and Mia hit her on the arm. “Hey.” She cautioned. ‘How did Jabi know that I was in a state of abandonment?’ Mia thought and noted it mentally to ask her later.

“Sorry? Abandoned?” Alexander asked to confirm what he heard.

“Don’t mind me.. I was just spewing nonsense.” Jabi said with an awkward smile. “Let’s unpack this bag.” Jabi said happily as she zipped open the lunch bag Alexander brought.

“Ugh… food food food! You’re such a foodie. Forget it, I’m not eating in here, I hate the smell in here.” Mia protested.

“But you are not well yet. Is it okay to leave?” Alexander objected worriedly.

“I’m fine…” Mia said and removes the plaster that connected the back of her palm and the fluid that was being passed into her body.

As she was about to get off the bed, her eyes caught her best friend, that was lying in a vegetative state.

“Is he not irritated?” Mia thought aloud and Jabi’s high spirit dropped. They all turned to look at Axel.

“Is he okay lying here?” “Is he okay with the smell of antibiotics and cleaning chemicals?” Mia shouted.

“I guess not.” She concluded and tears rolled down her face.

Jabi was alrady tearing up too. Shen pulled Mia into an embrace to comfort her and herself.

“Hey, where have you been?” Lian asked as soon as Shane entered. They were at their hangout.

“After spending my leisure time trying to get the CCTV recordings from the accident, I got something interesting.” Shane said, showcasing the flash drive in his hand.

They switched on a laptop immediately and inserted the flash drive.

They opened the clip and started watched.

“It’s the recording from 20 minutes before the jump.” Shane said randomly.

Lian watched keenly and calmly, not until he saw Alexander walking into the Junior class’ hall.
