Chapter 816 Rose’s Defense for Jimmy
Rose was not evil by nature. After knowing the injustice Theresa had suffered, she had a bad conscience and felt sorry for her.
Seeing Rose defend Jimmy earnestly, Theresa said, “You needn’t apologize to me on behalf of Jimmy. It’s he who has done wrong to me, and he should apologize to me in person.”
Rose continued, “I have talked with him about this. He said he would apologize to you when he recovered. He was determined to right his wrongs. Theresa, Jimmy has indeed caused many troubles. But it has been a long time since he made those mistakes, and he has received due punishment. Besides, he lives a tough life. He has been working hard in Cameron’s Group but has now lost his job. Can you forgive him?”
“I can’t forgive him,” Theresa looked at Rose, not knowing how to persuade her, “Love makesyou blind. There are strong pieces of evidence of his crimes. Why did you still believe in his lies? Do you think he has reflected on himself? He never thinks he has done anything wrong. His only fear is that you will leave him. Do you know it?”
“I don’t think so,” Rose said, “You didn’t see how pitiful he was now. Theresa, despite the crimes he has.committed, he has the right to reform himself. Please give him a way out. Otherwise, he will die.”
“You worry too much. He won’t die,” Theresa said, “A shameless man like him would rather hound other people to death than kill himself. Since you apologized to me, I believe you are redeemable, not like him, who is incorrigible. If I am right, I remind you not to believe in every single word he says. Otherwise, you will be at his disposal.”
“It can’t be true…” Rose recalled Jimmy’s sincere confession and didn’t believe it was just his performance. After all, he had committed suicide! If it weren’t for the people of the Watson family who
had saved him in time, he would have been doomed to death! She told Theresa, “I know you have reason to be suspicious of his sincerity. But if he dies, you will regret not believing in him.”
“Why should I have regrets?” Theresa raised her eyebrow. “If he dies, with your family condition, you will be free to find any other man better than him.”
“You…” Rose looked at Theresa, surprised by her indifference. “If Jimmy dies, won’t you have a bad conscience?”
“A bad conscience?” Theresa looked at Rose curiously. “Why should I be guilty of his death? I will celebrate the date of his death. My hatred for him is implacable.”
Rose was stunned and interlocked her fingers. She hadn’t believed it when Jimmy had said that Theresa wouldn’t forgive him. But now she testified to Theresa’s stony heart with her own eyes. Everyone would naturally feel sorry for the person who died for them, but Theresa was an exception.
Leticia looked at Theresa and knew she was indifferent to Jimmy’s suicide because she was sure he didn’t have the heart to kill himself. Leticia said, “Rose, although Theresa’s words may sound cruel to you, I share the same view with her. Jimmy is too selfish to commit suicide and will live on shamelessly. I am worrying about you… Since you know he is a hopeless villain, you should cease to trust him. Otherwise, you will regret placing hope in the wrong person.”
Rose tried to persuade them to believe her. “You didn’t meet him in person and can hardly imagine how determined he was to kill himself. I have never seen him so desperate before. I believe what I saw with my own eyes!”
“What about his past wrongdoings?” Leticia heaved a sigh. “You naively believed in his lies before.”
“Jimmy has admitted his crimes and apologized to me. I know he has done many wrongs, but he doesn’t deserve to die. Please, don’t murder him with your indifference.”
Speaking of this, Rose looked at Theresa and said, “Theresa, when Jimmy is discharged, I will accompany him to apologize to you. Please give him a chance to reform himself. He is guilty of what he has done.”
Theresa looked at Rose coldly.
Seeing Theresa indifferent to her, Rose knelt down and lowered her head. “I am sorry for imposing wrong judgment on you. Both Jim and I have realized our misdeeds. We will reflect on ourselves and never relapse into our old mistakes in the future.”
