Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)

Chapter 3519 Officer Deo

Deo's scarred face twisted as he cast a menacing glance at Garrett.

"Garrett, you know what it means to use my token. There's a price to pay," he growled.

"Of course." Garrett extended a hand behind him, and Lenny promptly handed him a bank card. Smiling, Garrett offered it to Deo. "Officer Deo, this card contains one million Dornia Emeralds."

"No," Deo said coldly, his gaze sharpening as he stared Garrett down. "It used to be one million Dornia Emerald. Now, it's two."

Garrett's smile didn't falter, though a glint of cold malice flickered in his eyes. He understood all too well- Deo was exploiting the situation to extort him. But with no way to retreat now, Garrett had no choice but to comply.

Reaching back toward Lenny, Garrett maintained his polite demeanor. "My apologies, Officer Deo. It's been a while since I last visited, and I must've forgotten the rules. I'll be sure to host a feast to make amends next time."

Deo's scarred face shifted into a smile so grotesque it could terrify children. "No need for apologies, Garrett. We're all family here. I've got some business to attend to, so I won't be joining you. If anyone on this ship gives you trouble, just drop my name."

Deo's sudden shift from hostility to camaraderie was stark. Garrett matched his grin, but both men's eyes betrayed their lack of sincerity. To them, relationships were transactional; if profit demanded it, they'd be at each other's throats in an instant.

"Thank you, Officer Deo," Garrett said, bowing slightly before turning away. With familiarity born of frequent visits, he didn't need anyone to guide him through the ship.

As Garrett and Matthew left, Deo's expression turned icy. He sneered, muttering to himself, "Just a

disciple from the Marine Corps' Six Grand Halls. What's he got to be so smug about? Still..."

Deo's brows knitted in thought, his hardened eyes narrowing. "Who was that man with him? Just standing

near him, my instincts screamed to run. What kind of presence is that?"

A shadow of unease clouded Deo's gaze. Having someone like that aboard the Carnage Cruise was either a stroke of luck or a harbinger of disaster.noveldrama

Then, he turned back to his quarters and, with a flex of his muscular arm, shut the massive iron door, which, weighed well over two hundred pounds, without a sound. His gaze fell to the lifeless body on the floor, and he said nothing as he stared at the corpse in silence.

"Matteo, let me explain the levels and purpose of the Carnage Cruise," Garrett said suddenly, turning to Matthew as they walked.

"The first level is the deck, used for boarding and disembarking. But if you want to leave this ship, you'll have to pay a fee-100 thousand Dornia Emeralds."

He continued his expression tinged

with a twisted delight. "There are six levels in total. The second level is the dining hall. The third is for accommodations. But the last three levels... those are why we're here."

Garrett's manic grin returned as he looked at Matthew. "The fourth level is a battlefield of endless slaughter If you step inside, countless others will try to kill you. They're desperate people, unable to pay the fee to leave, fighting for survival and any chance to make money.

"The fifth level is the Death Arena-that's our main destination. And the sixth level? It's a cesspool of filth and chaos. Nothing worth seeing there."

Garrett observed Matthew's calm silence, his grin widening as he added, "Most of the people below lack any real combat ability. They're just killing each other to survive. And down there... There's no food."
