Dimitri laughed, “Actually I was going to say tough, but annoying works too.” he said, and Kelly laughed. “So he made you quit dancing too I guess” he added.
Kelly shot him a glance, “How do you know that?”
“Well, I remember the first time you were in my office, and I mentioned something about telling your dad about you dancing at the theater, and then you threatened to kill me…. That was my first que” he replied.
Kelly blushed and looked out the window and Dimitri grinned.
“It’s okay,” he said, “I know you didn’t mean that, and I don’t blame you either, even I can admit that I was really annoying that day. But I’m not too sorry though. I kinda enjoyed it. You are very cute when you are angry. Kinda fun to watch”
“You are annoying all the time,” Kelly said teasingly.
“And you love me for it” Dimitri cut in, and then realizing what he had just said, he focused his attention on the road. Love. That was a strong word, and he didn’t know how she felt about him saying that. There was a brief silence before he asked, “Why don’t you dance anymore Kelly? You are amazing at it. I gotta tell you, that image of you dancing that night we met lives rent free in my head, and it’s not going away anytime soon.”
Kelly blushed a little. She could remember every detail of that night too. It had been a wild crazy night. One she wouldn’t forget in a hurry either.
“I still do… Sometimes… Once in a while… when I’m alone. I don’t really perform anymore” she replied, “That night we met, I was just helping out my friend because her lead dancer wasn’t available….” she paused, then added, “My father didn’t approve of it, so I stopped… I guess there’s a lot of stuff I quit because my dad didn’t approve of it. So many things I wanted….. He’s a little… Ermmm” she realized she didn’t know what word to describe him with. She knew her father didn’t approve of a lot of things, but she knew that he loved her… In his own way. She had spent most of her life trying to please him… To get his attention. None had really worked though.
Dimitri understood her. He had worked with Raymond Darcy long enough to know what kind of man he was. Raymond could be annoying and pig headed, but he was efficient and good at what he did. Dimitri knew that he admired the man despite their disagreements lately.
“Do you want to continue?” he asked her, “Because if you do, you should. You are good at it, and you shouldn’t let anyone stop you”
Kelly smiled, “Thanks” she said, “I am not sure if I want to pursue that anymore though. I want to focus on the company. I know that I haven’t been here for a long time, but I’m beginning to love it, plus I get to be a lot closer to my dad. It’s something that I have always wanted. It’s more than just a company to me… It’s a legacy, and I want to protect it”
Dimitri kept his eyes on the road and said nothing. The way she talked about the company… The way her eyes lit up… She had some emotional attachment to it. And if he was being honest with himself, he’d admit that he had become emotionally attached to her…. Somehow, he didn’t know how, but it had happened.
Why then did he suddenly feel bad? Why then did he have doubts? Two months ago, he had been sure that nothing would stop him from buying and selling off Darcy Enterprises, but now…. Now he wasn’t so sure anymore.
And he knew the reason why he felt that way.
Kelly Darcy…. She was the reason why.
He pulled up in front of her house, and she turned to him, “Thanks for taking me to the game, Dimitri” she said, “I had a great time”
He smiled at her, “I had a great time too, Kelly. I’m glad you came with me” he replied. He couldn’t kiss her out here where anyone could see them, but God help him, he wanted to. These feelings developing inside him both scared and excited the shit out of him. He realized that she was saying something, but he hadn’t heard her because he was lost in thought.
“Huh?” he asked, “I’m sorry I didn’t get you”
“What are you doing tomorrow?” she repeated.
“Ermmm…. nothing I can think of right now. Tomorrow is Saturday” he replied, “Why? What do you have in mind?”
Kelly gave him a smile. One that almost made him lose what little self control he had left, and he gripped the steering wheel tighter to keep himself from grabbing her and kissing her hard.
“It’s a surprise” she said in that sexy voice of hers, “I will call you”
And with that, she opened the door and went out of the car.

“I have a surprise for you,” Kelly said the next day as she killed the car engine.
Dimitri peered out the passenger window and saw that they’d stopped in front of the Pink Pussycat, an upscale strip club that catered to men with money to burn. He had been to a few strip clubs, mostly because David and Spencer made him come. Strip clubs really weren’t his thing… Not that he had a problem with them, because he didn’t. But surely this could not be their final destination. This just happened to be where she could find parking.
“What did I do to deserve a surprise?” Dimitri asked.
“You said something about watching me dance yesterday, remember?” she asked, then she grinned as she remembered the time at his office when she told him that he would be waiting for the rest of his life to see her dance for him. Guess she had been wrong then.
“But…how-” he began.
She leaned over the emergency brake and kissed him, ending his question. No one was around to see them kiss so she did so without worrying about prying eyes.
“Don’t ask how. I’ve got connections… I mean, my friend Lizzy has connections.”
Dimitri cast a glance at the Pink Pussycat again. “You mean, we’re going in there… Together?”
Kelly almost laughed at the expression on his face. “They’ve got peep show rooms.” she said.
