Lovey Dovey
Anne and Kaivan had just finished having dinner together. After watching TV for a while, they decided to head upstairs to bed. Wrapped in each other’s arms, they continued to converse, sharing stories with one another before finally resting.
“What can I do to help you complete this mission?” Kaivan asked. His expression was serious.
“There’s nothing you can do.” Anne shook her head gently. “I don’t want you to be involved to that extent. Your task is to protect me from the Sicilian Mafia. Only you can fend them off.”
“What about the chip you’re carrying now? I mean, how do you plan to hand it over to the right person?”
Anne loosened her embrace. Her right hand reached for the pendant hanging around her neck.
“Only my father can give this item to the investigator.”
“If you want, I can help you find out where your father is located.”
Once again, Anne shook her head. She was serious about not wanting Kaivan to get further involved in her current troubles.
“No… really, I don’t want you to be in danger. Besides, I’m sure my father will come to collect this item soon.”
Hearing Anne’s explanation, Kaivan gazed into her eyes, as blue as the ocean. One question popped into his mind that he really wanted to ask.
“After this mission is over, will you leave me?”
Anne remained silent for a moment upon hearing Kaivan’s question. Her silence made the man next to her worried. They had just sipped the sweetness of their relationship, and suddenly they might be separated.
“If you want me to stay, I’ll stay. But if you want me to go, I will.”
“Of course, I hope you’ll stay with me,” Kaivan said firmly. “I don’t want this relationship to just end like that.”
Instead of feeling happy or touched, Anne burst into laughter upon hearing Kaivan’s sincere expression. Her reaction left her interlocutor confused.
“Why are you laughing?” Kaivan was puzzled. “Is there something wrong with what I said?”
With a smile, Anne shook her head.
“Nothing is wrong. It’s just that I remembered something you said some time ago.”
Curious, Kaivan furrowed his brows, wondering which expression of his she was referring to.
“What’s wrong with that statement?”
“Do you forget saying that you would never be interested in me because I’m not your type? Or do you also remember saying, ‘Even in death, you would never fall in love with me,’ or —”
“That’s enough… really.” Kaivan cut her off. He grimaced as Anne brought up all his past statements. She was quite skilled in this regard. “Humbly, I apologize for any words I might have said in the past that hurt your feelings. I was too frustrated by accusations I never committed,” he said sincerely.
Anne smiled understandingly. After all, who wouldn’t be frustrated when falsely accused of actions they never took? She understood well what her husband had felt at that time.
“I also apologize for anything I’ve done that made you upset,” Anne responded. “Back then, I truly didn’t know what to do to make you commit to me.”
Instead of answering directly, Kaivan scooted closer, his lips tracing a path across her face and leaving a kiss on her cheek. While his hand continued to roam, giving touches that sent shivers down Anne’s spine.
“To be honest, I want us to forget everything that’s happened before,” Kaivan said. His lips continued to play on Anna Maria’s cheek. “Now, all I want is one thing: to start everything anew with you.”
Without anticipating it, Kaivan planted another kiss, this time on Anne’s lips. There was an addictive taste that made him want to keep kissing her, passionately and deeply. Until he finally eased away from the kiss, observing how Anne was left breathless by his playful move.
“Do you mind if we do it again?” Kaivan whispered. He intentionally brushed the tip of his nose against her neck. This action sent shivers down Anne’s spine once more.
“Frankly… this is my first experience. So, I’m a bit awkward doing it.”
A smile spread across Kaivan’s face. But rather than stopping, he did the opposite. Kaivan pressed his body even closer. His hands resumed their exploration.
“In that case, let’s start getting used to it. Let’s make this a mandatory routine before sleep.”
And so, Anne and Kaivan repeated the same actions as the previous night. Their bodies and souls merged without pause, without space. They responded to each other’s touches until both were engulfed in the waves of intoxicating desire. Truly, they didn’t want this intimacy to end quickly.
Amidst the sense of happiness that enveloped them, Anne suddenly woke up from her deep slumber. Pushing aside the tiredness that enveloped her, she slowly slid off the bed. She walked silently to the nightstand to grab a glass of water and drank it until it was empty.
Intending to return to the bed, Anne’s steps halted when her phone suddenly rang. She reached for the device and found a message that she felt compelled to read immediately.
Sliding her finger across the screen, Anne opened the incoming message. Not long after, she was slightly taken aback. There was a message that triggered her sudden thoughts.
“Anne, be prepared. In the next few days, I will come to pick you up and take you away from there.”
