Luna of the Cursed Alpha King (Helga and Siegren)

Luna Of The 118

Chapter 118

THE WIND PICK UP as Helga and Rioavanni strolled around the palace grounds. The leaves on the towering trees rustled in response, creating a soft yet eerie symphony of sound. Every servant or warrior they passed would respectfully how their heads in respect, but their lack of expression and stoic demeanor made Helga feel uneasy. She was used to people bowing with pure respect and admiration, their faces lit up with joy at the sight of her and Siegren. Yet here, she felt almost like a criminal.

The pack that now resided here was a far cry from the royal and noble bloodlines of the past. Their appearance alone gave away their nature; the sharp angles of their faces and the cold calculation in their eyes made it clear that they were not to be trifled with. This pack, led by a Lycan King, exuded an air of superiority over others as if they believed themselves to be above all other packs. And it seemed that Riovanni's desire to eradicate his own pack, along with his father, stemmed from their misguided belief in their own dominance.

How are you feeling?" Riovanni asked, causing her to turn and brush away the hair from her face. She then blinked a few times in an attempt to clear the dust that had gotten in her eye, but it remained stubbornly present. She was about to rub it away with her hands when Riovanni intervened, firmly stopping her hands with his own.

"Don't," he said before touching her eye that had dust on it. He gently opened her eyelids and blew gently onto her eye and once he saw it was clean, he let go of her while staring at her. "Are you okay? Is it gone?"

"Y-yes" She nodded shyly, not anticipating his action. But then she remembered that he had done the same thing before when they were playing together. The awkward tension dissipated, and she smiled softly at his kind gesture. "Thank you—"

Helga's head snapped to the side at the sound of a loud commotion. She could hear deep growls and groans, making her a little uneasy, but then when she heard Riovanni let out an exasperated sigh, she turned to look at him instead. He pinched the bridge of his nose, and shook his head, completely forgetting where they were headed.

"What is it? What's happening? Is there a fight?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity, but he shook his head and gently touched her wrist before quickly pulling away. The momentary contact sent a jolt through him as he realized the impropriety of touching a married woman. He believed that he shouldn't engage in anay physical contact unless it was

necessary.

He just glanced at Helga and saw her brow furrowed in confusion, unsure of why he had suddenly touched her and pulled away like she had some kind of disease. "Sorry, let's choose a different location. I had forgotten that this spot is occasionally used as a training ground for warriors," he explained, and Helga nodded in understanding, though she was eager to see a Lycan in their transformed state. She obediently followed Riovanni's lead as he turned around, but her brows furrowed when Demian suddenly appeared before them, blocking their path with his friendly yet eerie smile.

"Father, why are y you here?" Riovanni asked as stepped in front of Helga as if he was trying to hide her out of his repuslive gaze. "I already informed you about her situation. If she were to see you, it would trigger her trauma and anxiety. I can' have her getting seriously ill and die, at least not yet"

"But why? She was fine when we first met, didn't you see how fierce her eyes were?" Demian asked, attempting to project a facade of concern and authority as a father should. But both his son and Helga could see right through it. Riovanni's mind raced as he let out a heavy sigh, thinking of his beta who had likely rated them out to his father about their plans to wander the palace grounds together.

"I'm fine My King. Let's just keep walking," she said in a small voice, trying to convey discomfort to Demian. It was all part of her plan to make him believe that she truly had anxiety, even though it was really just a lie to hide her pregnancy. And she made sure to address Riovanni using the proper honorifics, as per his previous request. He had warned her that they needed to appear less friendly when around others from their pack, but seemed they were failing to do that. "Father, I would appreciate it if you would respect my request the lycan King said, his voice respectful yet there was an undertone of annoyance in them.

Deman's eyes narrowed into thin slits as he crossed his arms tightly over his chest, a clear display of his displeasure towards his son. He couldn't shake the feeling that Riovanni's protection of Helga held more than just a sense of duty. And now, after hearing Andi's earlier report about their relationship growing strangely close. Demian couldn't help but wonder if Riovanni's interest in Helga went beyond mere ulterior motives. Could it be possible that Riovanni harbored romantic feelings for Helga? Demian couldn't shake off the thought, and it troubled him deeply.

"And you," Riovanni's voice was commanding as he turned to glare at Helga, who flinched at the sudden shift in his behavior. At that moment, she could see the fire in his eyes and knew he was about to speak and act harshly, determined to show his father that their relationship was nothing more than captor and captive. However, his words were cut off by Demian's interruption, causing a tense pause in the air.

"Don't be harsh on her," he said, prompting Riovanni to turn and face his father, who was frowning at him slightly. His finger twitched at the sight, knowing well that his father was displeased, "I will take my leave, so continue entertaining her- but don't you forget her true purpose for being here. She is not a welcomed guest or a friend, she is simply a hostage that we must dispose of in the near future."

He leaned in and tapped Riovanni's shoulder before squeezing it, his voice low and intense as he emphasized each word with a sharp gesture. The tension in the air was suffocating as he stared at them both before letting go of his son's shoulder and finally turning on his heel, leaving them alone once again. Helga pursed her lips, her breath catching in her throat as she struggled to keep her composure. Her eyes then met Riovanni's who mirrored her relief while touching his shoulder which was throbbing from his father's grip earlier. It was an obvious sign that he was warning him not to do anything foolish, and he couldn't help but sigh again before focusing on Helga when she spoke. "What should we do?" Helga asked in a low voice, "I think your father's getting suspicious of us."
