MEETING THE SPECIAL HUMAN
I killed a very important person. The way he was describing his boss, he must really be powerful, and I will be his mortal enemy when he finds out I killed his friend. It gave me goosebumps just thinking about it.
He led me to a big office that had a name plate at the door. He opened the door wide for me to enter, and I entered the huge office with him. The office was beautiful, the blue interior design was blinding, and we both stood in front of the desk that was in the middle of the office. The marble floor was spotless.
"The chair is empty; where is the boss?" I asked, staring at Mr. Josh, who lifted his chin and pointed at the desk. I was startled as I saw a gorgeous man sitting behind the desk; I was sure he wasn't there before. He wasn't a god, but he should have been. The lush, mother-lode-gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality. His only blemish was that he was beetle-browed.
The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsome is an understated way, his basalt jaw and spartan shoulders spoke of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power. His green eyes were as bright as the evening stars they were filled with joy, with my face in the middle of it. I stood there like a statue, staring at him.
"This is your new assistant boss." Mr. Josh declared "Hmm..." escaped the handsome boss's lips; he was the human I had been looking for; my husband had not told me he was this handsome. He rose from his chair and walked around the desk, standing a few inches away from me. He looked at me from top to bottom.
"How old are you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow with his hands crossed behind his back. He was giving me my husband's kind of vibe that dominant and scary vibe.
"I am 20 years old." I replied nervously. He had this strong aura that was making me lose my senses, like he was a magician.
"You are way too young for this job." He remarked, looking at me as if I were a child.
"She is qualified, sir; she meets the requirements." Mr. Josh defended me.
"Okay, but I must say she is extremely beautiful; I don't want my employees going crazy for my assistant," he stated authoritatively, resting his eyes on me.
"That won't be a problem, sir; I will leave her to you now." Mr. Josh said and bowed before leaving us alone. I felt somewhat scared being alone with him, and it felt like I had known Mr. Josh for a long time because I was comfortable around him. He took a step closer to me. "What's your name?" He asked in a rumbling tone. I avoided his gaze by looking at the floor. "...My name is Lucinda Blake," I answered.
"Do you have parents?" He asked curiously.
"No, they are both dead, but I have a sister." I replied. Oh no! I shouldn't have said that he couldn't meet Medusa.
"That's good," he said as he walked around me, his charming eyes on me as my head followed him around. He went back to his desk, opened one of the drawers, and took a small bag out of it. He carried the bag and walked over to me. "Come with me," he said, walking ahead of me. "Uh?" I muttered and ran after him.
He led me to the far end of the floor we were on and pushed a moveable brick into the wall that you wouldn't notice unless you looked closely. In not less than a second, the wall opened, revealing a secret passage. The place was dark and deep, and I could barely see anything except an edge that looked like a cliff. Does he know my true identity? Can he read minds? Was he trying to kill me? A lot of thoughts flooded my mind when I recalled I was wearing the special earrings that made me calm.
"Beautiful earrings," he complimented, making me flinch in fear, so he was checking me out.
"What's wrong? Aren't you used to getting compliments." he questioned, I took a deep breath and moved away from him.
"We have to go in." He said this while staring at the dark hole. He stood in front of me, looking inside. "Hold me from behind." He stated. "Huh?" I muttered, confused.
"Hold me from behind. It's the only way to go inside." He said. I gulped and moved closer to him; his intoxicating perfume hit my nostrils as I stretched my hand forward, trying to hold him. He quickly grabbed my hands and put them around his waist; my heart started rising. What was this feeling?
"Hold on tight." He said. I tilted my head to see him grab a rope hanging from the cliff's edge, and he jumped into the hole with me in the blink of an eye, with me still holding him tight this time with my hands around his broad chest. He chuckled before speaking. "You are quite brave; I expected you to be scared like the other girls, but you didn't even scream." He commented. I didn't know when I smiled. Which other girls? Maybe he was talking about his employees. Was he expecting me to get scared? I watched as he slid down the rope with me, down into the dark abyss.
Everywhere started getting brighter as we went on, and suddenly we both landed on a land filled with different colored crystals. There were crystals on the wall and the ground; it was like the inside of a volcano. He took my hand, making me shy as I felt a spark of electricity in our hands. Before I could process what was happening, he swept me off my feet and carried me on his shoulder with his hand on my waist. I gasped as he started jumping like a beast, and I realized he was jumping across lava tubes on the ground. I was starting to doubt if he was human.
He placed me down on a lava-free area, and his hand caught fire, brightening the area where we were. He was using the fire as light because the place was a little dark even with the shiny crystals.
I trailed behind him until we arrived at the front of a huge gate that reached the ceiling. My jaw dropped to the ground at how big and mysterious the gate was. Suddenly the ground started shaking, and I was about to fall when he held me in his arms. We heard a loud roar, and a mighty dragon burst out of the gate, making us fall to the ground.
