LUCIFER'S HUMAN BRIDE

BE CAREFUL

"I'm chatting," Medusa muttered, operating her phone.

"With who?" Lucinda inquired.

"Just this handsome guy I met online," she replied, still glued to her phone. "Hmm, are you thinking about dating a human?" Lucinda asked.

"Of course, your husband didn't say I couldn't, did he?" Medusa questioned.

"No, but what if the human finds out that you are a hundred-year-old demon who doesn't age? Well, what do I know? Suit yourself." Lucinda shrugged and walked out of the bedroom to use the restroom. After a bath, she carried her phone from the living room to the bedroom, where she sat on the bed next to Medusa, glancing at her phone.

"Medusa, can you teach me how to chat?" she asked. Medusa raised a suspicious brow. "You are not allowed to chat," she scoffed.

"Please teach me; I command you to teach me," Lucinda stated.

"Alright, but only talk to people you know," Medusa said, taking her phone. "This is WhatsApp; it's a place where you can chat with the people on your contact list," Medusa said, operating Lucinda's phone while holding her own in her other hand. "For the time being, my boss's number is the only number on my phone," Lucinda smiled.

"Don't worry, I will add my number too." Medusa beamed.

"Since you are smart and know how to read and write, you can chat; it's easy." Medusa assured her. Lucinda quickly took her phone from her. "Let me say hi to my boss," she murmured.

"Be careful what you send to him," Medusa said while Lucinda nodded and texted Ralph. Medusa took her phone from her and dropped their phones on the nightstand.

"So, tell me what you have discovered?" Medusa asked, grasping Lucinda's hand.

"His eyes change according to his mood. It's black when he sees a demon, and he have a dragon that he was kidnapping demons for." Lucinda responded.

"A dragon? I thought dragons didn't exist anymore," Medusa said.

"I have seen the dragon; his name is Deacon; he is actually a human who was turned into a dragon by my husband because he was the guardian of Earth." Lucinda stated. Medusa blinked her eyes in awe.

"Wow, I know our king once fought with the guardian of the earth, but I didn't know what happened next." Medusa said.

"My boss is trying to turn him back into a human with a sapphire that can be inserted in a hole in his chest," Lucinda said.

"No wonder; there was this time your husband asked us to go into the earth and make sure we bring all the sapphire to hell." Medusa stated. "We even had to destroy and burn all the companies mining or selling sapphire." She added. "...So now my boss is helping Deacon capture demons so that they can use them as bait to get sapphire, but everyone they catch ends up fleeing or killing themselves." Lucinda remarked.

"This means you are seeing Deacon every day?" she asked.

"Yes, I am seeing him." I replied

"This job is more complicated and dangerous than I expected. Deacon was once a powerful being. He was appointed by God to guide Earth from Demons...but if Deacon gets transformed back into a human, he will send us like lightning back to hell; we can't take any chances." Medusa said with her eyebrows lowered and pulled together.

"He has even noticed the sapphire in my ear." Lucinda said, and Medusa gasped.

"And you are still alive." She whined.

"I lied to him that it was plastic, not real sapphire." Lucinda said, with a grin.

"You need to be careful around him. He will want to get a closer look at the sapphire. If they manage to grab it, we are doomed." Medusa started, "He won't only discover that you are a demon; he will filter us all from Earth. I will be like separating the sheep from the goat. Let's sleep. You have to be cautious around that human." Medusa muttered.

*******

Lucinda got up and took her bath. She put on a long blue dress, which matched her earrings, and ordered and ate while Medusa was still fast asleep. She took money from Medusa's bag and headed out of the house.

The company was noisy with employees around at work, running from one side to the other while working and copying some documents. Lucinda wondered how early the people came to work and how passionate they were about their stressful jobs as she walked into the elevator with another girl, who had red hair.

"What's your name, miss?" the girl asked immediately. She stood in the elevator with Lucinda. She was around Lucinda's age, but she looked older than her; she was average-looking and quite friendly.

"I'm Lucinda, and you?" Lucinda asked bluntly.

"My name is Barbie, and it's nice to meet you," she said, pressing the button to her floor. "Where are you going?" she asked.

"I am going to the top floor." Lucinda replied, making eye contact with her. "My goodness! You are the boss's new assistant, the goddess everyone has been talking about; it's an honor to meet you." She said she was shaking Lucinda's hand continuously. "Geez, where did I keep my manners?" Barbie said looking around the elevator like she was looking for something, and it made Lucinda laugh. "You are funny." Lucinda commented, while Barbie just smiled at her.

Suddenly, the elevator stopped at Barbie's floor. "I will talk to you later!" Barbie yelled and strolled out of the elevator. Lucinda stood there feeling lonely when her phone beeped; it was a text from Ralph. She rested her back against the wall while reading his text.

"I hope you slept well?" he texted. She blushed and replied. "Yes, and you?"

"Good, see you." He texted back. "His texts are quite straight-forward." She said under her breath, not sure of the way she reacted after getting his text. When the door of the elevator finally opened, she sighed heavily and exited the elevator. She snooped into his office and saw him sitting there.

She walked over to him and bowed her head with respect. "Good morning, sir," she greeted. His eyes traveled down her body. "You look good as usual," he complimented her, making her cheeks turn red. She attempted to go to her desk when he called out to her.

"Lucinda," she halted, turning to look at him.
