Can you hug me?
I will get you back from him.
Henry paces anxiously in his room. He was waiting for Quinn to come back.
There were many unanswered questions he wanted to ask Quinn.
Like, 'why was she trying so hard to hide the truth from him'?
Was there a reason for her actions? He heard the door open, and rushed downstairs.
Quinn walked into the living room tiredly. She was exhausted.
She was startled when she saw Henry rushing downstairs.
What was up with him?
Why was he looking at her with such burning gaze?
"What is wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Quinn decided to stop acting formally around him.
"What was your reason?" Henry grabbed her and pulled her towards him.
He hugged her tightly, burying his head in the crook of her neck.
"Pardon?" Quinn was surprised by his question.
"Why did you hide the fact that Emelda is my daughter?" Henry asked hoarsely.
"Your daughter? I think you must be mistaken, Henry." Quinn replied softly.
"I am? Come with me." He grabbed her hands and pulled her upstairs with him.
Quinn didn't resist him at all.
She allowed herself to be pulled by him.
He opened the door to the bedroom and pushed her in.
He left her standing and headed towards his drawer. Pulling it open, he took out the DNA results.
"Take a look at it. Do you still have the courage to say she isn't my daughter!" He roared. His heart was in pain.
How could she hide something like this from him, for years?
Quinn glanced at the results, and took a step back.
Although she was expecting that Henry would make his investigations, she didn't expect him to directly conduct a DNA test.
"Are you sure this is Emelda's?" She turned her head guiltily.
"Don't try to change the topic, Quinn. You know very well that I can't joke with something like this.
Unlike a certain 'someone'." He folded his arms as he fixed her with a glare.
"What if you have another child, and did the DNA test with her?" Quinn retorted.
She knew what she was saying was totally nonsensical... However she was desperate.
"Listen to yourself, Quinn." He shook his head and went to sit on the bed,
"Come and sit beside me." Quinn nodded and dragged her feet towards the bed to sit down.
"Why did you hide everything from me? Were you perhaps afraid that I wouldn't accept the child?" His voice cracked.
Quinn nodded,
"I was sent away from your house by your fiancee eight years ago. Under your watchful eyes, Henry.
How could I guarantee that your same fiancee won't make you reject Emelda?" Tears cascaded down
her cheeks. She was so pitiful.
"So, are you actually married?" Henry stilled his breath as he questioned.
Quinn turned to look at him, and dipped her gaze.
Does he deserve to know the truth now?
Henry watched her closely. If she was married, why was she acting in that manner?
Except of course, she wasn't married in the first place!
"I will tell you when the time is right." She mumbled.
Henry nidded. He wasn't in a rush. He knew Quinn hadn't fully opened up to him, and so he was going to wait for her to tell him the truth herself.
"Can you hug me?" Quinn asked nervously.
"You needn't ask. Come over." Henry opened his arms wide, and she drew closer to him.
He wrapped his arms fully around her.
Henry didn't know if he was feeling could be classified as love, but whenever he was around this lady,
he always felt at peace.
How good would it be, if she agreed to marry him? He would be the most happiest man in Earth.
He patted her back and his hands caressed her hair.
"I want you, Quinn." He whispered hoarsely into her ears.
Quinn sighed and without a word, she got up and peeled off her clothes.
Since she had decided to stop acting formally around Henry, she decided to be more cooperative towards him.
Soon, soft moans and pants filled the room, as Henry pounded into her..
...
Quinn decided to sleep in Henry's room for that night. As she lay in Henry's arms, she sighed for the umpteenth time.
"Anything you want to talk about?" Henry's clear voice indicated that he was widely awake.
"Nothing... I'm fine." Quinn snuggled closer into his embrace.
"I didn't ask if you are..." Henry chuckled.
Quinn chuckled as she closed her eyes.
She had made her decision; she was going to tell Henry the truth.
It didn't matter if Henry was already married to Kathleen.
Since Henry was ready to shower her daughter with the fatherly affection, she missed out during her younger years.
"Quinn??" Henry called out after a while.
"Hmm?" She answered drowsily.
She was already feeling sleepy.
"I don't care if you are married. I'm going to get you back. And yes, my daughter too.." Henry vowed.
Quinn's heart skipped a beat as she heard Henry's words.
She was actually looking forward to it!
"Alright." She replied and smiled in the darkness.
===========================
Henry's parents sat in their bedroom as they had a discussion in hushed tones.
"I don't think it's a good idea." Matilda shook her head.
"What? We are only going to visit our potential daughter-in-law. And you say it is a good idea?" Parker argued.
Matilda was silent for a while as she thought about her husband's words. Well, it wasn't a bad idea to create a good impression of them to their potential daughter-in-law, or was it?
"Alright... We should visit tomorrow then. I'm sure Henry would be at work." She acquiesced.
"Yeah .. That's fine." Parker smiled as both of them were finally on the same page.
"I pray she isn't the bossy type, or one with a bad character." Matilda sighed.
"I'm sure she isn't.. After all, she accepted to stay with our son, without demanding for a divorce between Henry and Kathleen." Parker said thoughtfully.
"Still on that, how could she work as as an ordinary maid, when she was already a foster daughter of the Stones?" Matilda voiced out her doubts.
"I'm also curious.." Parker chuckled.
So, the question was left hanging.
