Chapter 1210: Eight Stone Doors
Chapter 1210: Eight Stone Doors
After a moment of silence, Daniel Williams slowly grinned and said, "Whether it's Yang Feng or the Abernathy family, this time you are destined to pave the way for me!"
With that, a terrifying gleam shot out from Daniel Williams' eyes. This time, besides seizing the Dragon Emblem fragments, he also intended to kill Chris Shelby!
Previously, Daniel Williams had obtained two Dragon Emblem fragments. He gave one to Leif Wind and one to the Abernathy family. Later, Leif Wind was killed, and neither Chris Shelby nor the Abernathy family knew that Leif Wind had a Dragon Emblem fragment. Afterward, Daniel Williams secretly found Leif Wind's corpse and retrieved the fragment from him.
If Daniel Williams could kill Chris Shelby and Peterson Abernathy this time, he would not only obtain the Dragon Emblem fragment from Jefferson Village but also get the four fragments in Chris Shelby's possession and the one held by Peterson Abernathy. At that point, he would have seven Dragon Emblem fragments.
As for the last two Dragon Emblem fragments... Each of Middleton's four major families had one fragment. The Shelby family's fragment ended up with Chris Shelby. The Nance family and Daniels family's fragments were in his hands. One of these fragments was with him, and the other was with Peterson Abernathy. Thus, there was still an eighth Dragon Emblem fragment in Middleton, which was in the hands o the Jenkins family.
Once Daniel Williams had eight Dragon Emblem fragments, he would be just one step away from having all nine! And just one step away from becoming the new Dragon Emperor! Therefore, this time he was determined to succeed!
"Let's go!" Daniel Williams waved his hand and immediately led a large group of people forward without wasting any time.
Before long, they reached the edge of a massive pit. Looking at the enormous pit before them, Guardian Tim spoke up, "Your Highness, if I'm not mistaken, this pit leads to where we can seize the Dragon Emblem fragments. Chris Shelby and the Abernathy family must have entered it."
"In that case, let's go in!" Seeing that Chris Shelby and the Abernathy family had already gone in, Daniel Williams did not hesitate.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Quickly, figures began entering the massive pit.
Meanwhile, Chris Shelby and members of the Abernathy family were taking turns attacking a stone door.
Boom!
Finally, with their combined efforts, they broke through the door's barrier. Given their numbers and strength, it was only a matter of time before they succeeded.
"Let's go in!" Peterson Abernathy led his men through first. Chris Shelby followed closely behind with his group.
Upon entering, they saw another passageway ahead. This passage was much larger than the previous ones. After walking for about twenty minutes, everyone was stunned.
At the end of the passage stood eight identical stone doors. Peterson Abernathy and his men were all blocked here.
Seeing Chris Shelby arrive, Peterson Abernathy asked, "Chris Shelby, do you know why there are so many stone doors here?"
Chris Shelby's expression turned peculiar. He recalled encountering a similar mechanism at Manson Jefferson's tomb. It seemed Manson Jefferson had modeled his tomb after this place. Unfortunately, he didn't understand the significance of these numerous stone doors blocking their path.
Chris Shelby shook his head.
Seeing this, Peterson Abernathy muttered to himself in confusion, "Could it be that these doors lead to different chambers? Or perhaps only one of these doors is a true passage while the others are dead ends?"
Hearing this, Chris Shelby's eyes
flashed with insight. "If I'm not mistaken," he said suddenly, eight stone doors are arranged according to an ancient formation pattern called 'Nine Palaces Eight Trigrams. But I don't think it's that simple!"
Since there were eight stone doors here, they must have some significance. It wasn't clear which door was safe or dangerous or if they served another purpose entirely.
Staring at the doors intently, Chris
Shelby suddenly gasped. "I
understand This is a formation array. These eight stone doors indeed lead to different chambers but also form a large array. Each door corresponds to a different sub-array; whichever door you enter determines which sub-array you encounter."
Hearing this explanation made Peterson Abernathy frown. According to Chris Shelby's theory, they needed to choose a door and then face its corresponding sub-array. Peterson Abernathy asked cautiously, "Chris Shelby, based on your understanding of formations, which door should we choose?"
After a moment of silence, Chris
Shelby replied, "Any formation.
should not be underestimated;
among them all, killing arrays are the
most dangerous while trapping
arrays are less so. We should
choose a trapping array."
Everyone looked at the eight nearly identical stone doors and couldn't help but smile wryly.
Peterson Abernathy sighed lightly and said, "Which one is the trapping array?"
Chris Shelby smiled faintly and said, "Breaking this formation is difficult but finding the trapping array is easier."
With that said, Chris Shelby walked over to examine the doors closely. After about three minutes of careful consideration, his eyes lit up as he pointed to one of the middle doors. "This is it!"
Hearing Chris Shelby's words made Peterson Abernathy skeptical but seeing no other options besides turning back or choosing randomly among these identical doors left him no choice but to trust him. With a bitter smile on his face Peterson Abernathy said "Alright then let's go with your choice."
Having no better idea about formations himself he decided it best follow Chris's lead into middle door along others behind them
Meanwhile Daniel Williams had entered pit following trail left behind by Abernathy family bodies strewn around
"Tsk tsk looks like there has been quite battle here between Chris Shelbi & Abernathys judging from aftermath seems like Shelbi has upper hand"
Daniel observed scene deducing intense fight took place leading up here where ultimately abernathys failed leaving behind corpses.
