Chapter 81 It Makes My Heart Flutter
A loud noise erupted at that moment, accompanied by flames, thick smoke, and debris flying through the
air.
Maggie felt almost numb, as if she had been torn apart.
Joseph, that despicable man!
The numbers on the timer had been false from the start. He detonated it prematurely when there were still thirty seconds remaining.
Right from the beginning, he intended to kill both her and Nathael!
Maggie watched in helplessness as the man she had pushed out was blown away. His arm was torn off and covered in blood. At that moment, an indescribable sense of powerlessness pierced her heart.

Maggie woke up from the nightmare. Her face was pale, and there were beads of sweat on her forehead.
Perhaps her panicked cry had reached the adjacent room. Before Maggie could gather her thoughts, she heard a faint knock on the door, “Maggie?”
Maggie snapped out of her chaotic memories, staring blankly towards the door, unable to distinguish between past and present.
Perhaps she was worried and afraid that she had disturbed him.
Nathael gently pushed the door open to check on her.
She was still so the bed in her oversized pajamas in the dim light. Her face was pale, and she was lost in thought.
Upon seeing him, a glint appeared in her eyes as she softly uttered, “Mr. Harris.”
Her throat tightened. Her voice was filled with indescribable hoarseness.
Nathael opened the door and poured her a glass of warm water, asking, “Were you dreaming?”
Maggie remained silent. Instead, she rose and knelt on the edge of the bed. She reached out to embrace his waist, burying her small face against him. Her eyes were moist.
Nathael paused momentarily. He looked at Maggie, unable to resist gently stroking her soft hair. He said, “It’s okay.”
“Hmm, Maggie responded softly, her voice somewhat muffled.
With moist eyes, she couldn’t help but tighten her grip, feeling the warmth of his body. He was unharmed and alive. All of this was not a dream, which was truly comforting.
“I dislike rainy days,” Maggie/softly expressed, sounding somewhat aggrieved.
In reality, she used to adore rainy days, just not venturing out in the rain. But she likes to enjoy a cup of

If one were to trace her aversion to rainy days, it likely started with Sierra disfiguring her face.
The day Sierra blinded her eyes and scarred her face, it was pouring rain. The torrential rain seemed to wash away all the malevolence, drowning out her anguished screams.
Subsequently, as her wounds gradually healed, the scars crisscrossing her face would itch and ache uncontrollably on rainy days. It would tempt her to scratch and remind her of everything she had endured that day.
It’s like an oppressive and despairing nightmare.
Therefore, she no longer liked rainy days. When it rained, she could not hear anything else due to the noisy rain. For a blind person, the inability to see or hear exacerbates the challenges of daily activities.
Nathael remained silent, allowing her to cling to him in silence.
Yet inexplicably, he sensed the profound sorrow and grief emanating from her–the emotions he had never encountered before.
Maggie lifted her head, stood up from the bed, and embraced his neck. She asked.gently, “Aren’t you asleep? Why did you suddenly come over?”
“I couldn’t sleep, pondering over some matters, Nathael responded gently, feeling slightly uneasy with her gesture.
Maggie stood beside the bed, taller than him. She cupped his face in her hands and then playfully squeezed it towards the center, unable to resist complimenting, “You’re truly handsome.”
Nathael removed her mischievous hand, raising an eyebrow, and asked, “How handsome?”
Maggie’s lips curled into a sly smile as she whispered, “It makes my heart flutter.”
Nathael swallowed nard. His eyes were dark and intense, unable to contain his desire.
He looked at her seriously and responded with his low voice, “Don’t tease me.”
Knowing when to stop, Maggie leapt onto him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs. around his waist like a koala.
Nathael was caught off guard. He stumbled back, instinctively catching her.
“Maggie!” he managed to say, but his hands were on her thigh. Her dress rode up, exposing her skin.
Maggie’s eyes sparkled, and she blinked innocently.
“Hug me,” she said softly. Her voice was sweet and irresistible.
She wanted him to hug her. In the past, he would only give her a restrained kiss or hold her tightly in his
arms.
It had become a habit.
She craved his warmth, but she also resented her attachment to him. Sometimes, the more she missed him, the more hostile she became.

It’s not because of him, but because she hated that side of herself.
Now, she could cling to him openly without self–loathing.
“Let go of me.” Nathael said seriously. All his sanity would collapse if this continued.
Maggie refused and held onto him tighter.
He pursed his lips and breathed heavily.
She was probably not wearing underwear. When she leaned against him, he felt indescribably soft and tempting.
Maggie didn’t think too much. She rested her face on his shoulder and lingered with him. She didn’t feel tired, and she just spent time with him like that.
“Don’t make me repeat myself,” he warned.
Maggie turned her face sideways and looked at his ears. Through the faint moonlight, she noticed his ears. turning red.
Huh? Why did his ears turn red?
She reached out to touch it curiously and ignored his warning.
In an instant, Nathael threw her onto the bed, and they fell together.
Realizing the situation. Maggie quickly got up and moved to the side of the bed, warning, “Get off. This is my bed.

Maggie exclaimed and quickly raised her foot to kick him. In a struggle, she accidentally kicked his handsome face.
“Ouch!”
Maggie was stunned. Time stood still as Nathael felt the urge to strangle her.
