Chapter 6 What On Earth Do You Want To Do

Chapter 6 What On Earth Do You Want To Do

Hearing what Cecil said, Linda could imagine the embarrassment on her father’s face, but there was nothing she could do.

Martin’s voice came through the phone speaker as he asked, “Cecil, you already know?”

Cecil casually massaged his temples and replied, “Mr. Ye, as per our agreement, the financial department of the Bo Group has transferred the money to the Ye Group.”

“Yes, we’ve received it. Although Leona isn’t the woman you married, Linda is also my daughter. I hope you can treat her well.”

Linda’s eyes turned red after hearing her father’s words, especially when she remembered how Cecil had asked the servants to address her as “Fake” just now.

Cecil sneered at the phone. “You’ve also been in the business world for decades, haven’t you? How can you be so naive?”

“What do you mean?” Martin’s voice sounded nervous.

Cecil crossed his legs and tapped his thigh with his fingers as he casually said, “I’ll give you two days to find Leona and bring her to me. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee the future of the Ye Group.”

After that, he immediately disconnected the call.

Then, he threw the phone on the tea table in front of him and lazily raised his eyes to look at Linda. “Why are you still standing here?”

Linda pursed her red lips, trying to suppress the indignation she felt. “Mr. Bo, since Leona chose to run away from the wedding, my father might not be able to find her in two days. I think you know her better than I do.”

Cecil chuckled dryly. “Is that so?”

Linda nodded. “I’m sure you know her temperament.”

“Then the Ye Group will be in trouble,” Cecil replied firmly.

For a moment, Linda stared wordlessly at the man in front of her, who was handsome and charming enough to make countless women blush. She finally plucked up her courage and asked, “What on earth do you want to do?”

Cecil’s lips curved up into a faint smile. “I don’t want to sl

eep with you.”

Linda felt as if her heart was being squeezed.

She couldn’t believe that the man she had loved for so many years was so vulgar.

After saying those words, Cecil stood up from the sofa and waved to the housekeeper, who was standing not far away. “Take her outside.”

“Yes, sir.”

The housekeeper turned to Linda and barked, “Fake, let’s go.”

Linda felt so humiliated that tears sprang to her eyes. However, she refused to give Cecil the satisfaction of seeing her cry.

Gritting her teeth, she pushed the tears back down and followed the housekeeper outside.

The housekeeper led her to the garden of the villa before telling her to tend to the plants.

Just when Linda felt glad that she hadn’t been given a difficult job, a servant walked over with several pots of roses and placed them in front of her.

The housekeeper pointed to the pots and said, “Wipe all the roses within an hour. Ensure that all the petals, leaves, and stems are clean, without any dust on them.”

Linda looked at the sight in front of her in dismay. There were about a dozen pots of roses, which would take her at least half a day to clean thoroughly. What was more, all the roses had thorns, which would only make her job harder. Yet, the housekeeper had only given her an hour to finish the job. It was obvious that the housekeeper was deliberately giving her a hassle.

But what could she do?

She had no choice but to try her best.

She began to wipe the flowers as quickly as she could. Because of her rapid movements, her fingers were pricked by the thorns from time to time. Blood flowed out from her fingertips and stained the green leaves.

Seeing this, the housekeeper scowled at her. “Fake! You stained the flowers!”

Linda couldn’t swallow being called “Fake” any longer. She glared at the housekeeper and asked, “How do you know they will be dirty after I wipe them?”
