Chapter 4: There is Nothing Wrong with Her Health!
Proofreader: Zhou Zhijie
When Mu wakes up again, she finds herself alone in the middle of the transfusion of nutrients. The ward is horribly quiet.
Recalling all has happened since she married Qiaosheng, suddenly she comes to wonders whether she has been wrong for having been too obsessed and stubborn.
She feels devastated by the mutual torture in her marriage…
“Youyou, anything wrong? You must tell me if so. Let me give you a thorough examination, OK?” Qin Yang finds by chance that she is staring ahead numbly as he passes by. He walks to her hastily, afraid that she has been hurt by some undetected internal injuries.
At this, Mu Ziyou slowly raises his head. In order to relieve his worries, she turns her face sideways like nothing has happened. “Where is he?” she asked.
“He came… to get Xia Wanyan out of the hospital today.” Qin Yang is not much of a liar and tells her the truth.
“Today? Out of … the hospital?” Mu Ziyou does not know that she has already slept a whole day and night.
Qin Yang nods, “Yeah. By the way, one thing confuses me. It’s been a long time since Xia Wanyan fell off a building and got a bad loss of blood. I think it’s understandable to call for your blood at that time. But why does she still want your blood for her good over and over again now?”
“Because she was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. And Qiaosheng had always thought that it was because of me that she fell off the building. Therefore he requires me to make up for her… ”
“It can’t be! She shows no symptom of that at all!”
By virtue of his identity as a doctor, he retrieved Xia Wanyan’s health status report with an excuse. The report shows that there is nothing wrong with her health! She should have been discharged from the hospital long before!
“What?!!” Mu Ziyou’s brows knit together. She just finds that all of a sudden everything starts to make sense.
Qin Yang looks bemusedly at Mu Ziyou, then nods.
She has the right to know the truth.
Mu Ziyou takes a deep breath and comes to a decision at that second: “Get me out of the hospital, please.”
Despite Qin Yang’s disagreement, Mu insists on leaving the hospital and returns to Li Qiaosheng’s villa.
To her surprise, Xia Wanyan is already there and has decorated the next guest room in the way she likes.
Mu Ziyou’s face darkened perceptibly at seeing this. Without a second thought she comes forward to question her: “Xia Wanyan, you’ve never suffered from aplastic anemia, have you? Then why on earth are you still taking a bag of my blood every week? What on earth are you doing with all my blood?”
“Your blood… Well, since you’ve already found out, I’ll make it straight. Look, there’s a spare one.” Xia Wanyan gets out a bag of blood from the drawer of the nightstand and heads for the bathroom while saying, “Usually I will take advantage of the time when Qiaosheng is absent and pour the left blood into the toilet and flush it clean. Well, of course, there might be some other USE, like —”
A “thwack” sound stuns Mu Ziyou to the soul.
Xia Wanyan just slaps hard in her own face. Then she dips her finger in the rest of the blood and draws at the corner of her mouth and gives Mu a mysterious and weird smile.
Before Mu Ziyou figures out what has happened, Li Qiaosheng has appeared behind her without a single sound. He pushes her hard down to the ground in a rage. “Mu Ziyou! I asked Wanyan to live over not for you to hurt her!”
“Darling, boo-hoo, Youyou said she would rather flush the blood down the toilet than give it to me. I… I don’t know why. Since she doesn’t like me here, I think I’d better go.” Xia Wanyan covers her “bleeding mouth” with one hand, giving out a pathetic look.
Due to the dizziness, Mu Ziyou cannot stand up at once. She can only watch her own husband taking Xia Wanyan up against his chest gently and coaxing. Facing her, however, he immediately becomes another man, “Just wait and wish!” He roars at her without any clue to love that Mu grew up with.
