Chapter 13: Why Didn’t You Save Her
Proofread by Zhou Zhijie
Li Qiaosheng’s instinctive reaction is that it can’t be true that Mu Ziyou is already dead together with his unborn baby.
Despite being obstructed by Xia Wanyan, he rushes into the room after doctors and nurses come out one after another, only in time to witness Qin Yang slowly pulling a piece of white cloth over Mu Ziyou’s face.
“How come? She could make through that terrible accident sound and safe. How could it kill her so easily this time?!”
He steps forward and snatches away the white cloth with force. What comes into his sight is indeed Mu Ziyou’s little face which is so pale that it looks horrible. The blood on the forehead has dried. The closed eyes together with the deathly pallor of the lips make her look like a lifeless doll.
“Come on, Qiaosheng. She killed Auntie! Probably she died of the sense of guilt. Her mom also took her own life because of her. Therefore, she has gone to heaven to accompany them. What’s more, Auntie will be sent to cremation soon! Could we go back now, Qiaosheng?” With a guilty conscience, Xia Wanyan doesn’t want to go into the room.
But she feels that there’s something weird about the man. She therefore keeps reminding Li that Mu has killed his mother, trying to make him accept the truth in the shortest time possible.
Yes, it’s this frenzied woman who has killed his mother!
First, her whore mother upset his mother and made her become lunatic and troublesome since then! Then, she stabbed his mother to death with scissors. They probably planned everything from the very beginning just to ruin his formerly happy family! Now they should be satisfied!
How could they have died one after another then?
He has not even let them pay for what they have done. How could they have died like this?
Thinking of this, Li Qiaosheng turns to Qin Yang. He grabs at Qin’s collar and questions with anger. “Aren’t you proficient in medicine? Aren’t you in intimate relationship with Mu Ziyou? Then why didn’t you save her?! I don’t want to blame you for the baby, but you couldn’t even save the mother! How can you be a doctor? You’d better resign as soon as possible!”
“Yes, you are right. I’m thinking about this.” Qin Yang signs to let go of him and retorts harshly, “But, Li Qiaosheng, you should be the one who knows best of the reason why Youyou would have the least desire to live on, aren’t you?”
On hearing this, Li’s face turns stiff slightly. And subconsciously he retreats the strength in his hands.
Good! Very good, Mu Ziyou! Don’t you think your death can end it all?
“What are you doing?! Are you crazy?”
Qin Yang has intended to take Mu’s body to the morgue. Yet unexpectedly Li Qiaosheng steps forward in his way and picks up the body together with the white cloth cover from the wheeled stretcher!
Xia is also stunned, but she figures out what is happening immediately. The moment Li is about to step out of the operation room, she slowly falls to the ground with her hand on the stretcher and groans, “Qiaosheng, don’t go, please! Don’t leave me behind! I’m feeling really bad, and dizzy…”
Li hesitates for a second, which wins Qin enough time to get back Mu Ziyou’s body. With no time to put it back onto the stretcher, he runs straight away with it held in his arms.
“Could you help me up, Brother Qiaosheng? It’s so cold on the floor. Am… am I dying as well?” Noticing Li’s eyes are still following Qin Yang who is disappearing in the distance, she then utters several moans as if she is suffering some great pain.
Li Qiaosheng could do nothing but clench his fists. Eventually he draws back his sight, picks up the “fainted” Xia Wanyan in his arms and strides out of the door in a hurry.
