Chapter 60 Invited Colbert to Dinner
That was a reasonable excuse.
Eudora couldn't help wanting to praise herself for being so wise.
"Um..."
Mildred hesitated and finally nodded helplessly. "You're right. Since you are in a relationship with
Chasel now, I will be a bad person who separates you lovebirds if I force you to go back to the
countryside with me."
Ansel already knew about the relationship between Eudora and Chasel after he woke up.
Now seeing that Eudora insisted on staying in Kenison City, he sighed. "Alas, how can I stop my baby
girl from staying with her boyfriend..."
"Oh, Dad, stop it."
Eudora pursed her lips and smiled. Her hanging heart sank.
At least, she didn't need to go back to her hometown for the time being after giving her adoptive
parents an excuse that she was in a relationship with Chasel.
In the afternoon, Eudora and her adoptive parents went out of the Steele Hospital. She accompanied
them to take a walk. Then, she led them to go shopping. Eudora bought two suits of clothes for each of
her adoptive parents.
After the three returned to the ward, it was already half past five in the afternoon.
Mildred forced Eudora to call Colbert and treat him to dinner. Eudora had no choice but to do as she
was told.
The dining place Eudora booked was Fancy Restaurant.
After Eudora arrived at the restaurant, she dropped a pin to Colbert. Half an hour later, Colbert, who
was wearing a tailored suit, appeared in the private room. His chiseled face was tense and as cold as
frost. A sense of oppression exuded all over his body.
"So, you treat me to dinner in such a place?"
Eudora shrugged helplessly. "I am a person with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the red. This is the
best place I can choose."
If her adoptive parents hadn't repeatedly asked her to treat Colbert to dinner, she wouldn't have invited
him.
Eudora thought spending a dime on Colbert would be a waste!
"Perhaps, you can consider repaying the debt with your body."
Colbert sat across from Eudora with his legs crossed. He leaned on the sofa with a sneer on his face.
Eudora glanced at him with cold eyes and handed him the menu. "Mr. Steele, hurry up to order and
eat. I still have things to do."
Colbert didn't even look at the menu. He gestured to the waiter.
The waiter came over and asked politely, "May I take your order now?"
"I want the most expensive dish for a single person. Fifty of it."
Colbert said it calmly to the waiter.
Hearing what he said, Eudora immediately became angry. "Fifty. Are you going to eat them in your
coffin?"
He couldn't finish all the dishes even if he died from overeating.
"The experts in the hospital worked hard for your father's illness. Is it too much to treat them to dinner?"
Colbert made up his mind to trick Eudora.
What he said was so reasonable that Eudora couldn't fault it.
"How much is the most expensive dish for a single person?"
she asked exasperatedly.
"The most expensive dish for a single person in our restaurant is 288 dollars."
"Two hundred and eighty-eight dollars?"
Then, fifty of it would be more than 14 thousand dollars.
