His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0085

The world couldn't have played a more ridiculous trick on her. Amara thought as she watched Celestine curtsey and smile innocently. What were the freaking odds!

"What is the meaning of this, Celestine?" Melanie questioned, standing up from where she sat and staring at the woman with narrowed eyes.

Celestine's smile did not flatter once. If she was intimidated or irritated by the presence of the two ladies in front of her, which mind you, she was, her professional work smile did not let it show.

"I'm only here to assist a customer Miss." She turned to Amara, totally ignoring what Melanie had to say next. "Is the dress to your liking, Amara?"

Amara didn't answer her question. Rather, she stared up at Celestine, sensing what her intentions were without the younger female needing to speak it out.

Whatever belonged to Amara, had first been used by Celestine. This dress and even Tobias's heart. That was the exact message she was trying to pass across.

However, Amara was unfazed. She looked Celestine in the eyes, gaze unwavering.

The sound of Melanie scoffing broke their little stare down. "This shameless cunt," She sat back down, folding her hand and eyeing the woman in front of them. "Fine, you want to do your job, do it." She pointed towards at the center of the room and ordered. "Spin around." Celestine nodded obediently and carried the task out. "Is it-"

"Again." Melanie interrupted her before she could complete asking the question.

"What?"

"Spin around, again, and don't stop until this valued customer tells you to do so."

Celestine's eye twitched. She would have spun around and done what was told, but her ego couldn't take it.

How dare Amara's little friend order her around. And that bitch, her eyes gravitated towards Amara who until now had quietly been watching the show.

She glared subtly.

How dare she act like she was mighty, better and above her. How dare she sit there and relish in her embarrassment.

Celestine refused to take anymore of it.

However, just as she stepped forward to speak, Amara raised her hand, signaling that Melanie could stop whatever childish taunt she was pulling.

"That's enough Mel."

"Huh? You're going to let her off like that?"

"I have no reason to pick on someone who isn't even worth my time." Saying this, she order. "Next dress, this one looks hideous on you, so I doubt it'd be of use to me."

Her words dented Celestine's pride. The female clenched her teeth tightly. She had the urge to rip that elegant faux look off Amara's face. Thankfully, before she could act on her damn urges, an idea came to mind. She smiled. "Of course."

Just like that, she was gone, returning a little while with the second dress Amara had chosen.

The second one looked just as distasteful on Celestine, as the first had. Amara was beginning to think her taste in attire was dwindling.

"Next." She order.

Celestine's smile never left. "Right."

It was the same story for the third dress and the fourth dress, only did Amara take her time to examine the fifth and final dress that looked worthy.

It was a black and gold strapless jumpsuit, with a plunging neckline that would showcase her cleavage perfectly.

Along with it came a plain black suit jacket, which was meant to be worn with the jumpsuit.

The design was simple and elegant. Something Amara could definitely pull off.

"I'll go with this one." She finally stated. "Have it packed."

Celestine nodded and left. Amara was about rejoicing over the fact that she'd no longer see the vixen's face, when she returned with the dress, packed in a bag. "Here," She offered Amara the dress.

Glancing at Melanie, Amara hesitated to collect the dress. But just when she made up her mind to reach for it, Celestine suddenly went down on her knees. "What...what are you doing?" Melanie questioned.

"What's the meaning of this? Get up." Amara ordered, much to her dismay, Celestine ignored her words and only presented the dress to her once more. She frowned. What the hell was she doing?

"Wow, shameless indeed." Melanie commented, scoffing. "Let her be, Mara, perhaps she's come to realize that she needs to offer proper service in other to get paid." "Knock it off." Saying this, Amara collected the dress at once. "Get up, Celestine."

She remained kneeling.

Amara's brows creased. "Celes-"

"Please Amara!" Celestine suddenly voiced. "My career as a model is the only thing that pays my bills, if I lose it, I'll have nothing. Please don't ruin my career!" "W-what-?"

"I know you're hurt about what happened with Tobias, but please don't take it out on my career. Our innocent love shouldn't bare the brunt of your hurt feelings." What? Amara eyes twitched. Innocent love, she called it?

"Your innocent love nearly ruined

lives, Celestine. Amara yanked her

off the ground with her free hand and glared at her. "Your innocent love caused people pain, so don't play the victim here. Whatever predicament you've found yourself in you brought it on yourself, don't make me out to be the villain."

She released her with a simple shove, but Celestine crumbled the floor with a loud yelp.

Melanie clicked her tongue in distaste while Amara shook her head.

"How pathetic." Saying this, she turned around to leave the room, however, she found Tobias standing at the threshold of the opened door.

His expression was cold, but the resentment present in his eyes was enough to tell her he had heard their entire conversation.

Amara's lips parted, but before whatever she wanted to say could escape her lips, Tobias had strode into the room and delivered an ear deafening slap to her right cheek.

The sound bounced off the walls of the room, echoing as if mocking the pain the recipient of the slap was currently feeling.

Melanie's eyes widened. "Oh my

god! Mara!" She rushed towards her

friend who had stumbled a few steps from the impact. "Are you okay? Mara." She shook her gently, trying to get her to snap out of the shock she was currently feeling.

When Amara finally did, and her eyes met Tobias's, they were red. Tears were already gathering at the rims.

"You're such a black hearted woman, Amara." Tobias spat. "How could you-"

"Toby," Celestine interrupted him, throwing herself into his arms and mocking the pain Amara felt.

She clenched her jaws and remained silent, refusing her tears to fall.

"Please stop this, Toby, Amara isn't in the wrong." Celestine pleaded, showing faux concern, which Tobias easily bought into. "She was simply pointing out my distasteful flaws."

"Is loving someone a crime!" Tobias's voice thundered and he glared at Amara, wondering how she could be so heartless.

Amara held his gaze, looking more furious than hurt.

"Loving someone may not be a

crime, but hitting someone is. So, if you can't give me a valid reason why you laid that filthy piece of hand on me, I can promise you that you'd be spending your night behind bars and I'll personally see to it that nothing you do can change that."
