Hint of Darkness and Light

Plans

Verena’s POV

“What happened last night Damon?”

The room gathered higher ups in the pack, including Damon’s dad, his beta. Even the pack guards and their wives.

I’m seated in between of Damien and Damon.

“We were attacked by the Unknowns father,” Damon answered, his big ass hands is placed in my thigh.

“They relayed a message?” One elder asked. He looks at me suspiciously.

“None that I’ve known.” Damon muttered.

“Any premonition from them? It’s quite impossible to think that they’re not up for something Damon.”

Drawing in a deep breath, I opened my eyes and said, “They said I’m the divination.”

I closed my eyes and leaned back to Damon. I don’t want to see their faces of horror or even worse. Damon slipped his hand from my thigh to my stomach.

“It’s okay Kinzhe, they’re not going to hurt you.” He soothing whisper on the back of my ear calmed me… for a while.

“Heavens, she’s the destroyer?”

“Oh my gods, it can’t be.”

“What’s your say about this alpha?”

“Can we see your mark?”

“She’s dangerous, she might bring harm to our pack Damon.”

I freezed, they’re right. I might bring harm to their pack. Thinking that this might be my way out of this and get back to Linda.

“She’s my mate and we are getting married.” Damon announced, in a very nonchalant way. This man doesn’t even had inhibitions.

“Seriously??” I whisper yelled at him.

“But what about the Unknowns?” The other woman asked.

Seriously fuck that unknowns, fates my ass.

“We don’t even know if it’s a serious thing mom.” Damien blurted. He’s at it again, tapping his fingers in his lap.

“We will run precautions, and as your Alpha, I’ll assure you that what happened in the past won’t happen again.”

“I will trace her lineage auntie, this is not a serious problem. And besides my mate is from the human civilization. It’s not very unlikely.”

“What about the wedding Damon? Once you marked her you will eventually lead the pack. Being absent in pack meetings won’t glory you knowledge.”

This must be his aunt. She is very strict unlike his father that is laid-back. She left the room, carrying her purse and cup of tea.

Everyone left ’til I’m here stuck with Damon.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I stood up to demand his attention.

He looked at me with a faint grin, “Doing what?” He asked while innocently flapping his eyelashes like a puppy.

It took some effort to gather my thoughts, “You said we are getting married?”

“That’s what I said.” He smiled at me sarcastically.

“Aren’t you scared? As your people said, I might bring harm to you, and your people.”

That part made a tiny flicker of hope to me, and then boom it was crushed in mere seconds.

When I looked up at him, I saw he watched me in that intense way that felt as if he could see everything I wasn’t saying.

He shook his head once, “If you’ll bring harm to me, I’ll gladly accept it Kinzhe, that’s what mated souls do.”

I cringe, stupid mated souls.

“I can’t even feel the connection jerk.”

His face darkened, “As I said, you are being blocked by something. In a supernatural way.”

“Okay, I’ll hold on to your promise,” I stopped, “Remember four months.”

He dragged a hand over his head, shoving his hair out of his face.

“It’s already late, what do you want for breakfast?”

“I don’t know a werewolf? Since you guys are like dogs eaten in some places in the human civilization.” I smirked not thinking what I have said.

“Really?” Amusement crept into his tone. “I could arrange myself for you to eat this morning since that’s what you’re requesting,” he continued catching my breath.

My cheeks burn from embarrassment.

“Dumbass that was a joke,” I slap him playfully in his chest and yanked him to stand up.

That half-grin appeared again while scanning the pink hue in my cheeks.

~~~~~~~~~~
True to his words me and Damon ate peacefully in his excluded garden. It was kind of romantic intimate breakfast I’ve felt but Damon didn’t appeared to enjoy it. I was so happy when Damien also joined as, but Damon didn’t welcome his presence pretty well. He’s been sulking, saying things as Damien is a joy kill and pretty annoying.
When Damien left, his mood swing crashed and his face started to lit up.
I just laughed at him. A toddler having tantrums, seriously.
“Are we going to the library?” I asked him.
“Do you still felt like going there?”
“I think no… do you have plans or job to do?”
“Should I mark you right now?” He chuckled.
I want to punch this man.
“You fucking with me? Seriously.” I shrugged.
He laughed, well… that was one of the sexiest laugh I’ve heard. I swallowed my own saliva.
“I’m not really sure why I’m still sitting here
talking to you.”
“Perhaps you owe me your life Kinzhe.”
“I didn’t wished to be saved.”
He exhaled a ragged breath, “I heard you,”
My brows knitted, “Heard me what?”
“I heard you plead and beg to be saved. That’s why I link Rox to track the ground nearby you. I can sense your first night, the night you’re being treated by the pack doctor.”
His eyes shifted to mine, and that curve of his lips remained.
I snapped my mouth shut to hide my shock.
“That when I started reading your anguish and lies when you first met me. I knew that there is something off. I’m a hybrid so my vampire and werewolf sense are more distinguished and powerful than anyone,” he continued.
“Is that the reason why you believe I’m your mate?” I asked directly staring at his blue eyes.
“I don’t know, I’m not sure yet…” he trailed.
He continued, “But one thing is I’m sure.”
“What is it?”
“Something I want to do.”
My face lits up, I hope his plan is quite engaging for me. This day is just boring.
Excitement and curiosity rose. “What?”
“I want to devour your lips Kinzhe, that’s what.” The heated intensity of his stare held mine.
We are still at the garden and we’re alone.
“And my wolf screams that we need it, that bad.”
A wild flutter started in my chest and quickly spread, much like that deadly flower of his that I reminded him of.
But I wanted to feel. I wanted to be someone. I wanted to be kissed by him.
My pulse pounded dizzyingly fast.
“Then kiss me,”
The smile that spread across Damon’s face wasn’t slight or faint. It was wide and full of heated sensuality. I caught a brief glimpse of his teeth, two slightly elongated, sharp…fangs.
It feels like it’s still my first time to be kissed by him.
“Damn, that’s the very first command I’m willing to do,” he hissed.
He moved then, erasing the distance between us. Every cell of my body tensed in a breathless sort of anticipation as that woodsy, citrus scent surrounded me.
Then his lips met mine, and the first touch was just that. A
touch. But it was still a shock to my entire system, just like the
moment I first entered the water. His lips were cool against mine, and the
press of them was soft like satin over steel. He tilted his head slightly, and then I wasn’t thinking about his lips.
I wasn’t thinking at all.
He pulled me to sit on his lap. The growing manhood against my core felt so large.
The pressure of the kiss increased, and he tugged at mybottom lip with those sharp fangs. I gasped, my entire body shuddering.
His breathy laugh touched my lips
“That was hot Kinzhe,”
“Please stop saying those things.” I whispered.
“It was supposed to be a compliment Kinzhe.”
My blood thrummed as his hand settled around the nape of my neck. The stupid pet name sounded like a piece of lullaby for the first time. I’m afraid I like it now.
His mouth touched mine once more, and this kiss…it was nothing like the gentle touch of before. It was harder, and the feel of the tip of his tongue against the seam of my lips sent my heart racing. I opened for him, and the kiss wasn’t only deep. The flick of his tongue against mine was an exploration that tasted of honey and ice, and he kissed as if the same, almost frenzied curiosity that drove me also rode him. To know what it was like to feel wanted, desired, cherished. To just feel. I knew that was ridiculous.
Needing to feel more, I moved my hands to his shoulders. He shuddered at my touch. Despite of his intact clothes I can feel his cold skin.
I tugged on him, wanting him closer, only slightly concerned that I wasn’t apprehensive about that desire. A distant, still-operating part of my mind knew I should be more worried because I was feeling wonderfully impulsive and gloriously reckless.
The rumbling sound that came from him danced over my skin, my breasts, and then lower still. He seemed to be as affected, and that left me reeling in a dizzying way, knowing that he is a powerful hybrid.
His palm glided inside of my t-shirt into the side of my breast and then to my waist. A soft sound left me as my back arched.
His hand stilled on my hip, his touch becoming heavier there as his mouth left mine. “That is what I planned for today.”
My eyes fluttered open, colliding with his. “It can’t mask a real adventure but it’ll do.”
He laughed, low and throaty. “But it seems like you’ve enjoyed it… a lot.”
“Not really,” and I knew to myself that was pure bluff.
My mouth reclaimed his, and the way our lips met was fierce and demanding, igniting a riot of wild, breathless sensations inside me that I eagerly fell and spiraled into. I was wonderfully lost in them-in him. The feel of his cool lips. The touch of his tongue against mine, and that unexpected nip of his fangs. His honey taste, and his lush scent. And I knew these were the kinds of kisses I’d read about in those books.
I broke the kiss, “Can anybody see us?”
“No, baby,”
Trembling, I glanced up at him. His features had sharpened, becoming stark. And there was this need and hunger to his parted lips. I could see a hint of those fangs, and another shudder ran through me. I wondered if I should attempt to shield myself from his gaze-if he expected that from me. But if he did, he would be disappointed. I wanted him to look upon me like he wanted to devour me.
His mouth claiming mine. His kiss was demanding, tugging on my lower lip with his sharp fangs. I yielded to him, opening. Thkiss deepened, and his tongue slid over mine, his mouth capturing my breathless moan. The taste of him, his smell…all of him invaded me, my senses, burning me. An aching, pulsing need centered in my core.
He lingered over my pulse, his tongue a hot, wet slide against the flesh. His head tilted, and I felt the sharp, unexpected drag of his fangs. My entire body arched as his name escaped on a soft exhale, “Damon,”
Mind thick with desire, it took a moment for me to register that he’d stilled. My eyes opened.
“Why?”
“I just want to fucking claim you Kinzhe, right now. It itches my whole being.”
A light laugh spilled out of me.
He tucked my shirt and I helped him to get rid of my shirt then he throw it off above the table. He opened my brassiere in just a swift move and with the same faith as my shirt he threw it off.
I couldn’t look away. His gaze held mine as his mouth closed over my breast, drawing the sensitive skin into the recesses of his mouth. I gasped at the shock of the coldness against the heat of my flesh. Another. throbbing pulse darted through me as his hair fell forward, sliding over my skin.
He kissed the space between my breasts. His tongue swirled on the nipple of my otherbreast. He drew the tingling peak into his mouth, dragging the edge of a fang across it. Another sharp cry left me.
“Shit, what the fuck Damon.” The voice freezed me in one place.
Damon quickly hugged me tightly not to expose my upper extremity.
“Leave us alone fucker.” Damon’s hoarse and thick voice demanded.
I hid against his chest momentarily enjoying the feel of his hard chest.
