“Why should I obey you?” Giselle asked but couldn’t move. For some reason, her heart wanted to hear what was really going on. But her ego said, why listen to a man like Andrew?
“Wouldn’t it be better if you sat down?” Andrew smiled slightly. “I have plenty of time tonight.”
Giselle rolled her eyes in annoyance. She pulled back the chair that had been pushed a little. She sat down with a scowling look but her eyes never left Andrew’s. “I just found out that you can’t be busy.”
“There are times when I’m busy and times when I’m not, depending on what I prioritize.”
The girl again chuckled in annoyance. “Speed up your story. I need a break.”
“I know,” Andrew straightened up slightly. “Can I get you another hot chocolate?”
“No,” Giselle said quickly. “I won’t take much time. Speed up your story.”
“I think someone is getting impatient.” Andrew could no longer contain himself. He smiled widely with an amused chuckle but really, his heart was overjoyed. At the very least, the opportunity to explain what really happened was at hand. It was up to Giselle how she would respond, but at the very least, this was the best Andrew could do.
“As I said earlier, I was engaged to Fania for a long time. We agreed not to tell the public because this arranged marriage is all about business. Langham and Kingston wanted to develop a crucial line of business, but it couldn’t happen immediately because there was a lot of red tape to go through. To make things easier, as the originator of the idea, Hanry Kingston planned our match.”
“And you don’t like each other?” interrupted Giselle with a sneer.
“Yes. We don’t like each other. Fania has a boyfriend and I respect him.”
“Tsk!” Giselle chuckled. “How corny is your relationship, but it’s been going on for three years? Oh my.”
“Three years is not a short time for us to get to know each other. That’s what you had in mind, right? Why couldn’t we accept each other? Or… why did we each choose someone else we liked instead of liking each other?”
Giselle rolled her eyes. “Something like that.”
Andrew laughed again. “If it was that easy, I probably wouldn’t have approached you.”
“Fania is quite beautiful as a woman. Friendly, well-mannered, and I don’t think she carries her last name around with her. I noticed that when she was a guest speaker at the ministry a while ago.” Giselle gave her opinion on how Fania is in her eyes. That was honesty. “And I think you’re a good match for her.”
“Many people have told me that. Even I recognized how Fania was in public. But unfortunately, no one can force their heart to fall in love with anyone, just like Fania and her lover. Perhaps your notion of me and Fania being compatible, you can say that about Fania’s relationship. They are far more compatible and worthy.”
“But you sent out invitations instead.” Giselle folded her arms across her chest. “It’s funny how you say this so easily, but in reality, you guys will be together later.”
Andrew let out a long sigh. “We have no choice.”
“And you’re going to do what you don’t want to do?” Giselle stared in surprise at Andrew.
Which made the man speechless.
“You said, Fania has a lover. They love each other?”
“Very.” Andrew laughed softly. no. he was laughing more at himself for being so much more unfortunate than Fania.
“You didn’t think about Fania’s feelings?”
“It was Fania who agreed to this marriage after the past few years of both of us avoiding each other. Saying excuses as plausible as possible to keep this marriage delayed.”
Giselle stared at Andrew in disbelief. “Does that mean Fania isn’t serious about her boyfriend? Her feelings are really just there?”
“I don’t know. I was confused myself at the time. But seeing Fania’s determination, I was sure something had happened.”
Giselle’s brow furrowed deeply.
“I told you the reason for our arranged marriage, right?”
“Business,” Giselle interrupted immediately.
“Also… I’m doing this marriage so that my mother can no longer live under pressure.”
At first, Giselle wanted to sip back the warm chocolate that was still half left. It didn’t matter if she finished it because it was still her glass. But hearing Andrew’s words just now, made Giselle look at him closely. “What do you mean?”
Andrew no longer had a smile. His gaze was much more despondent than before. He didn’t even dare to lift his gaze from the table, choosing to trace the toe of his shoe or some other direction rather than return Giselle’s gaze. Although he wanted to, he felt he had no power.
He didn’t want to talk to Giselle about such a private matter, but talking to a girl who he thought had a sincere heart and had captivated him from the beginning, he didn’t want anything to be covered up anymore. I don’t know. Andrew felt confident that Giselle was the right person for him to confide in. Although he didn’t know how his relationship with Giselle would turn out in the future, but at least, for tonight, he could take some of the weight off his shoulders.
By telling his story to the girl who no longer gave him cynical looks and responses. Andrew believed that Giselle was a good listener.
“I’m the child Hanry Kingston didn’t expect. Unfortunately, I was born with the blood of a man I don’t even want to consider my father. I’m too tired to show myself wanting his acknowledgment but all that happens is that I’m increasingly tortured by his freedom. If I don’t comply, my mother will be his first victim.”

“Giselle,” Brina slightly shook the shoulder of the girl who was still wrapped in the blanket. The temperature in Giselle’s room was not too cold, the lights were still dim even though it was already noon. Very late in the day in fact but Giselle had no intention of waking up from her deep sleep.
Giselle just squirmed softly. pulled the blanket back up to cover her face. mumbled softly, “I still want to sleep, Brina. Let me stay in bed all day.”
Brina chuckled. “You skipped breakfast. Come on… get up first. You’ve got us all worried.”
Giselle waved her hand. “I’m not hungry,” she said softly. “I just need some sleep.”
“What time did you guys talk, anyway?” Brina ruffled Giselle’s blanket rather roughly. It didn’t matter if the girl pouted or antagonized her for the rest of the day. she just didn’t want Giselle to not fill her stomach with breakfast. It was already ten o’clock and it felt… no longer breakfast that should enter Giselle’s body.
“Whose fault is it to tell me which hotel I’m staying at?” Giselle grabbed the pillow on the other side of her head. Covering her head quickly to block out the sunlight coming in from between the opened curtains. “Brina, come on… I know my schedule while I’m here. I want to relax for the day.”
“But you have to have breakfast, Giselle! Nico said you had a fever last night. But you went out and talked to Andrew? Until the morning? Are you crazy?”
Giselle chuckled in annoyance. It didn’t matter that her long hair was a mess. Her eyes still wouldn’t open fully but she could already give Brina the saddest look possible. her face was also very typical of a wakeful person. “You’re such a nuisance. I didn’t talk to Andrew until the morning! I don’t have a fever either, just tired from yesterday!”
“If Nico hadn’t driven you and asked you to take your medicine, you could have ended up in the hospital. And if Andrew hadn’t talked to you last night, I’m sure you’d be even worse.”
Giselle frowned. “You’d better prepare breakfast for me than talk so much.”
“Change your clothes and wash your face!” Brina scrunched up her waist. “Your breakfast is on the table and Justin is waiting for you.”
Giselle’s eyes blinked with excitement. “Justin?”
“Yes. You didn’t forget to ask her for a present, did you?”
The girl’s mouth opened fully. “Damn it….”
