Healing The 64
Healing The 64
Healing The Ruthless Alpha
Sihana’s POV
I swallowed.
45. 45.
The signs were there but it was impossible to imagine in Alpha hating a pack he sacrificed his blood and sweat to protect. His pack. His home. His people.
“Don’t look so surprised.” He laughed but the sound had no shred of humour in it. “The air in this land makes my skin crawl. I hate it.”
“Is that Is that “I stuttered. I pressed him so much for what was going on with him and now that he opened up. I didn’t know what to say. What do you say to someone who confessed a taboo topic?
“I understand,” I said, my vocal cords finally working. “understand how you feel.” He regarded me with eyes that concealed his emotions.
“Do you?” Even his tone was devoid of emotions but it didn’t stop me from nodding.
“I don’t know the full details of what happened with Alpha Boston but I know enough to understand.” It was subtle, but I saw him flinch when I mention the name of the dead Alpha. “It’s remarkable that you -chose to lead these people despite everything you had to go through.”
“It’s not remarkable.” He laughed, the sound chilling to the bone, as he scrubbed a hand down his face. “It was selfish.”
Alpha Blood was the richest pack in the world. They had a phenomenal army and the resources of five huge packs combined. Money, manpower, land, Alphas; they had an abundance of it. They had the highest rate of Alpha pups recorded in any pack for the past thirty years. It wasn’t unusual for Cahir to cover the position of the head of such a pack after doing away with the former ruler.
“It was the only way I knew to control my bloodlust.” His words surprised me so I asked.
“What do you mean?” How could this pack help control bloodlust? His bloodlust was something we hadn’t mentioned since the day I saw his eyes change to that terrifying golden yellow but he flung it out into the open now, making my eyes widen.
“It would have been too easy to raze the pack to the ground to destroy everything. It would have been so satisfying – too satisfying. Every day, I fight the urge to give into the lust, the tingling desire to raze this pack to the ground, force them to atone for their sins against me and mine –” He trailed off, his eyes having a faraway look..
By all standards, Alpha Blood was his. He didn’t have a home outside this pack. The wolves were his, but I could see how easy it would be for him to shun the people in this pack and think of those Alpha Boston had killed as ‘his. Although they were his original pack, they didn’t exist anymore. Those of them that remained alive were already members of Alpha Blood pack. How come his wolf did not help him create that balance?
“Alpha Blood – they are – they are yours.” I “Alpha Blood – they are they are yours.” It felt like the wrong thing to say, with the way his eyes cut to

bad memories for him considering he had been tortured for years on this same soil. What I didn’t understand was how he did not see these people as his despite being their Alpha.

Cahir was notorious, not just for how he took over the reins of leadership of Alpha Blood pack, but for how he led the pack. They were distinguished before and he came and made them even more distinguished. The people of Alpha Blood could not be touched anyhow by anyone on earth, else, their Alpha rains fire against anyone who dared harm his pack member.
The wolves of Alpha Blood were the most protected in the world both in and outside of this pack. There is a saying that even a slave of the Alpha Blood pack is treated better than the Alphas of
some packs. It’s because of Cahir. He didn’t play with his people but now he revealed he hated the people he protected so fiercely.
“They took everything from me and every day, I have to use all my self–control to make sure I don’t cave I don’t give in to the voices that whisper to me to ruin tiem all. The minute I cave I would be surrendering to the bloodlust and turning full rogue. That’s why I hold on so firmly to a pack that I loathe.”
–
I saw him in a new light after that. He was Cahir Armani, the undefeated Alpha of Alpha Blood pack, a man who could do and undo. A man whose power was limitless in our world – but right there and then, he was Cahir, a man that hated everything that came with his title.
I stepped closer to him and took his hand, not knowing what to do. Conveying my emotions with words was hard to do as I wasn’t used to it, but I opened my mouth to speak.
“I won’t let you lose control.”
Bloodlust was a scary prospect losing yourself to your animal instincts was something all wolves feared. It was the reason I stuck around in Silver Moon pack despite hating them. I couldn’t imagine having to live so close to the edge of something so terrifying, with your only anchor being the people you hated.
“How can you stop me?” He gave a harsh laugh. “You could wake up tomorrow and see that I have razed this pack to the ground and lost every last bit of my self–control.” His laughter felt like ice water splashing against my face.
Yes, the chances of that existed, but I would say they were pretty low. He’d held on fine for five would make sure he never let go..

“I am your mate,” I reminded him. “If you need an anchor, I can be your anchor.” At that moment, remembered Laura’s words. Did she know how broken Cahir was? No, I didn’t think so. Instinct told me he had never confessed this much to anyone else. I was the only one that knew of his bloodlust.
“It doesn’t change anything.” he said with a wry smile. The urge is powerful and every day, it gets worse.” He paused for a second then said, “wouldn’t it be funny?” He laughed, this time, the sound was cruel. “Wouldn’t it be funny if Cahir Armani destroys himself?”
“But you won’t do that,” I assured him. “Cahir, I can’t lose you.” I tightened my grip on his hands. He look down at our intertwined fingers.
“Your hands” He muttered, then he looked up at me. You really are a healer.” He smiled. “I like your touch.”
Could I do it? Could I heal the ruthless Alpha?
“Did you know, before you, the only thing that threatened my control was Alpha Blood.” I swallowed at the

to annul our mating. I heard the voices clearer than they have been in five years.” His thumb stroked my cheek. “How can you help me when you threaten my self–control so much?”
“T–I’ll refrain from speaking nonsense in the future I borrowed his words, swallowing against his finger on my throat.
“And Silver Moon? What would you do about them?” I frowned at the question. What did my old pack have to do with anything?
“Why do I need to do something about them?” I asked. They are in the past.”
“There is no past for me,” his voice dropped low, almost inaudible. “They touched what’s mine.”
“Cahir –“I swallowed, the atmosphere strange. He drew me into his arms as he sat at the edge of his desk with me standing between his spread legs, his hand on my back and the other stroking my face. “We don’t have to worry about them. They are insignificant.”
It was the truth. None of them could hurt me anymore. I was out of their reach now and although the damage done to me may take time to be reversed, I didn’t want to think much about the ugly past I had in that pack.
“Not to me. I promised to avenge you.” His thumb traced my bottom lip.
“For me or for your bloodlust?” I dared to ask. He hummed, saying nothing in response. “Forget about them, please. I can’t risk can’t risk losing you to “He hummed again then lowered his head, capturing
bottom lip between his teeth.
