Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 54

Chapter 54

On the first floor, it was a western-style banquet with mostly young people. The hall was filled with

soothing music. Some people were dancing, some were drinking and chatting, and some noticed the

girl who just walked in, wearing a black dress, and wondered who the rich family’s daughter she was.

Estelle wasn’t used to wearing high heels, so as soon as she sat down on the sofa, she didn’t want to

move Magdalen knew she had a sweet tooth and got her every type of dessert, putting them on a plate

on the coffee table in front of her, along with two cocktails.

Estelle had only grabbed a bite during her makeup session, so she was hungry. She ate slowly but

finished half of her plate quickly. She was so focused on eating that she didn’t mind the curious glances

from others.

As she was almost full, she reached for the cocktail next to her, just to see a man in a white dress

shoes and a gray plaid vest standing in front of her.

The man looked young, his hair neatly combed, and was sizing up Estelle. As she looked at him, he

immediately displayed a smile he thought was charming. “Excuse me, miss, would you mind if I sat

here for a while?”

There were plenty of empty seats around, so it was obvious that he was deliberately approaching

Estelle.

Estelle replied indifferently, “I do mind.”

The man was slightly taken aback but quickly put on a greasy smile. “Miss, don’t be so guarded. I just

saw you sitting alone, and I wanted to keep you company for a bit.

Estelle replied seriously, “I’m not lonely.”

The man was speechless.

Before he could come up with another pickup line, he heard a cold laugh from behind. “I heard Mr. Lee

is pursuing Miss Macclain. Why are you here, flirting around? Is Carmella not interested in you?”

Jake Lee turned around quickly and saw Magdalen, looking embarrassed. “Miss Sampson!”

Magdalen was well-known for her sharp tongue and explosive temper among the upper-class ladies, so

these playboys were wary of her, and no one dared to provoke her.

Jake laughed awkwardly and quickly departed, realizing that Estelle was a friend of Miss Sampson.

Magdalen returned to the table with two more drinks, glancing at Jake’s hasty retreat. She then

proceeded to explain the situation to Estelle, saying, “He’s the second son of the Lee Group’s CEO.

Lately, he’s been pursuing your younger sister, Carmella. However, it seems she’s not particularly

interested in him. She’s been keeping him in a state of uncertainty, neither accepting nor rejecting his

advances.”

Estelle wasn’t too interested and just replied with a nod. She then asked, looking at the colorful drinks

on the table, “What are these?”

“Tastes sweet with a hint of a milky flavor, give it a try.” Magdalen took a sip and felt that it was quite

good.

Estelle took a sip of the drink and, true to Magdalen’s words, found it to be delicious. She proceeded to

drink. half a glass, savoring the sweet taste.

Magdalen chuckled and cautioned, “Take it easy, my dear. Despite its sweetness, there’s vodka in

there, so it’s quite potent.”

“Alright!” Estelle took another sip and felt that she wouldn’t get drunk from this kind of drink.

The two were lounging on the sofa, chatting, drinking, and observing people in different outfits mingling

and laughing at the party. It was as if they were part of the scene, yet also separated from these

glamorous people.

Estelle hadn’t spoken to Magdalen like this for a while, and as they leaned on the sofa and chatted,

everyone else receded into the background.

Magdalen did most of the talking. She spoke about how she scared off those vixens around Morrison,

and how the company signed a batch of new people who didn’t look very trustworthy…

Estelle felt that Magdalen was very tired, but she seemed to enjoy it..

Occasionally, individuals would approach, attempting to flirt, but Magdalen would position herself in

front of Estelle, arching her eyebrows seductively. “Care to join me for a drink?” she would inquire,

luring their attention away from Estelle.

The man would politely back off.

Of course, even without Magdalen’s temperament, her status as Morrison’s fiancée was enough to

keep people

away.

In the evening, Estelle’s gaze fell upon Jonathan amidst the party. He was standing in the reception

area, engaged in conversation with several men from the Copeland family.

His demeanor was respectful, adorned with flattering smiles as he interacted with them.

As the evening darkened and the lights turned on, in the glittering party, the well-dressed man exuded

a natural sense of aristocracy.

In that instant, it seemed like he was in the spotlight while everyone else faded into the background. As

she watched him for a brief moment, five or six ladies in seductive dresses strolled by, making an effort

to capture

his attention.
