Chapter 2380

Sophia's hand flew up in anger, aiming to smack him, but Jason grabbed her wrist firmly, "Stop moving around!"

"Mmm," Sophia groaned, caught between pain and pleasure, unintentionally letting out a soft moan.

Jason's body tensed up, his eyes darkening as he kept his hands on her waist, feeling its softness and warmth. His heart was pounding like crazy. Unaware of the tension, Sophia settled down and asked, "Jason, why didn't you go back to Jefferson City?"

She stayed because she needed to heal from a broken heart, but why was he still here?

Jason took a deep breath, his voice a bit hoarse, "Got some unfinished business."

"What kind of business?" Sophia asked, her curiosity piqued.

Feeling her gaze, Jason frowned slightly and replied irritably, "Why do you care? It's none of your business!"

Sophia was taken aback, "I was just asking, why are you getting mad?"

Jason's irritation grew, making it hard for him to stay calm. He turned away, silent.

Sophia couldn't figure out where his anger was coming from and felt disheartened. She tried to get up, "You don't have to keep doing this, I'm heading home!"

"Don't move!" Jason's hands pressed down on her waist with force.

"Ah!"

Sophia gasped, her body falling towards the couch, and she let out a playful scold, "Be gentle!"

Jason clenched his hands, barely holding back a curse.

After taking a deep breath, Jason continued to massage her waist. They remained silent, the only sounds being Sophia's occasional involuntary noises whenever Jason applied too much pressure.

For Jason, it was torture - a kind he didn't want to end yet couldn't bear to continue.

The air grew quiet, filled with a subtle tension even the usually oblivious Sophia could sense. She dared not make a sound, feeling the heat where his hands touched her through the fabric of her black velvet dress, warming her skin and spreading throughout her body.

Feeling uncomfortable, she shifted slightly, "Okay, it doesn't hurt anymore. You can stop."

Jason stood up, his voice deep, "I'll be in the restroom."

"Okay," Sophia replied softly.

Once he was gone, Sophia sat up, touching her flushed face, confused by her own reaction.

She and Jason were as close as siblings, even closer at times. What was she thinking?

After taking a few deep breaths, she cooled down and felt more composed.

Standing up, she walked over to her

A girl named Jewel had texted, "Jason, see you tonight at The Night."

The Night was a famous club in Brooksville.

Sophia raised an eyebrow,

She didn't leave immediately, choosing to wait for Jason to return from the bathroom.

But after five, then ten minutes, there was no sign of him.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she knocked on the bathroom door,

"Jason, are you okay" done!

Two more minutes passed before Jason came to the door, looking a bit off, "What's up?"

"What's wrong with you?" Sophia inquired, genuinely concerned.

A flash of annoyance crossed Jason's face as he walked past her into the study, "It's nothing!"

"What are you doing at The Night tonight?" Sophia asked directly.

"What?" Jason turned to her, puzzled.

Sophia nodded towards his phone, smiling, "Someone messaged you, I saw it by accident."
