Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 610

Chapter 610

Back in high school, Chloe and Linda had made a pact to donate blood together. The staff at the time had even joked about their uncanny connection, saying it was fate that brought them together. It was a rare coincidence, they noted, and a good thing they could become such close friends. After all, in a pinch, they could be each other's lifelines.

Chloe had laughed, “We're not just best friends, we're each other's emergency kits." Linda had been thrilled, replying, "Maybe destiny had plans for us, Chloe. We're bound for life."

Chloe had thought it was all just a lighthearted moment. She never imagined the day would come when it really mattered.

As Chloe was about to step inside the hospital room, Connor caught her arm. "I can find someone with the same blood type quickly. We don't need your blood."

Chloe looked back at him, reassuringly, "Don't worry. I know my limits. I'm just going in to help out."

And in she went. After Chloe entered, Connor started making calls to rally everyone in Riverbrook with the matching blood type to head to Ryan Hospital.

Chloe had her blood drawn for testing, and sure enough, it was a match. She was laid down on a hospital bed to give blood. Right next to her was Linda, who was in the middle of surgery-two surgeries, actually. One to remove a bullet from her chest and the other a cesarean to deliver her baby. She was in a fragile state.

Fully anesthetizing her meant she might not wake up, so the doctors went for local anesthesia. Linda was conscious, but despite the numbing, she felt intense pain everywhere her chest, her stomach, her whole body ached. She was weak, her vision blurred, but her mind was clear. She knew the stakes.

She'd overheard the doctors. Her baby was in distress, severely

lacking oxygen, and a cesarean was the only Option. Despite her pain, her main concern was her child. "How's my baby... my baby..." she whispered, her voice as faint as a Whisper in the wind.

Love

The doctors and nurses were too busy to answer, but Chloe, despite her own fatigue, heard every word. She had given a lot of blood. A nurse approached her, "Ms. Chloe, please stay here a bit. We've contacted other hospitals, and blood packs are on their way. Volunteers are coming too, but until then, we need you to stay."

Chloe nodded, pressing her arm where the needle had been, "Take whatever you need, as long as it helps her."

In the next room, Linda seemed to

catch Chloe's voice, her own voice rising slightly, "Chloe... Chloe..." Chloe heard it clearly. Linda's heart rate spiked, and her oxygen levels dropped as she became agitated, "Chloe, you're here, right?"

A nurse suggested, "Ms. Chloe, you can sit with the patient during surgery. It might help calm her down."

To them, it seemed like they were a bride and her maid of honor, inseparable friends. Especially since Linda kept calling out for Chloe.

Chloe went over to Linda's side. Linda's hand was flailing in search, "Chloe, are you there? Where are you?"

Chloe couldn't stand it. She took Linda's hand in hers and gently said, "Linda, I'm here."
