Chapter 1198: You lift the tender world (1).
Micaela lay pale and dying, her forehead drenched in cold sweat and her long hair sodden.
Like a mermaid on the verge of death.
She was covered, bloodstained and shocking to look at.
Nico’s heart stuttered and he took a big step toward her, taking her hand in his and calling out to her with scarlet eyes, “Micaela, how are you?”
Micaela had no strength and opened her eyes slightly to see the blinding light and the silhouette of a man swaying before her.
Nico’s large hand touched her forehead, one hand clenched around hers, and warm tears welled at the corners of her scarlet eyes.
The nurse brought the newborn child covered in blood, “President Nico, this is Mrs. Micaela who gave birth to you…”
Before the nurse could finish her sentence, Nico had already shouted, “Get out!”.
Nurse: …
What’s the matter, not even a glance at your own child?
The nurse carefully carried the baby to the nursery.
In the delivery room, only Micaela and Nico remained again.
Micaela’s consciousness was confused, unable to distinguish between reality and illusion. In that blurred vision, Micaela saw that the corners of Nico’s eyes were scarlet like blood.
Her eyes narrowed slightly and she raised her hand weakly, touching his face and murmuring, “Nico, don’t cry.”
On the heart monitor, the rising and falling heart rate, suddenly flattened until the line became a straight line and a frightening alarm sounded.
Drip-
Micaela’s hand, touching Nico’s face, slid down.
“Micaela!”
Nico saw it, the large mass of blood soaking the bedclothes.
Micaela passed out completely.
“Doctor! Doctor! Somebody!”
A quick step rushed into the room.
“It’s no good, Mrs. Micaela is bleeding profusely after delivery, prepare a blood transfusion immediately to revive her!”
Micaela was taken to the resuscitation room.
Campoverde grabbed the few blood donors that had been pre-arranged and took them to the blood collection room.
Nico sat disheveled and helpless outside the operating room, hands clutched to his head, all hostile, but with that horror in his heart infinitely magnified.
What children are born, what bastards they are who say that having children is happiness.
He should never have said yes to her.
What is it worth to go to the gates of hell to have a child.
Why should we take on this damn life that hangs in the balance because of other people’s ideas.
If something were to happen to her, what would be the point of having the baby?
Who will he love when she dies?
Nico looked at the blinding red light of the operating room and spoke with a single harsh word: “Micaela, you better live or I will kill that child.”
A grim and cruel threat.
Nico is ultimately ruthless and grim.
Only Micaela was given that touch of worldly tenderness.
She was not initially born with a gentle nature or talent.
But it was because I met Micaela that I was gentle with her and always managed to be that gentle and unabashedly eccentric in my defense.
It took three hours to revive him.
Every second, Nico’s heart danced on the tip of a knife, rising and falling.
Sein came out of the operating room with a serious, wary look on his face as he said to Nico, “Ms. Micaela has lost too much blood and has been resuscitated, but she is not well and will be in ICU for a few days.”
Nico stood up and grabbed Sein’s neck, pinning him against the wall and shouting, “Did you urge Micaela to have the baby, did you promise Micaela that there would be no problems with her body during delivery? And now she is bleeding profusely in labor.”
Sein felt sorry, guilty and ashamed, “Mr. Nico, I have reminded Ms. Micaela many times that conception is not a problem in this body of hers, but childbirth, and I have told her more than once to think it over. But she is still determined to get pregnant, Mr. Nico, I am a doctor, not a family member, I can do nothing to stop her…”
Nico’s hand, which gripped Sein’s neck, slowly loosened.
Yes, how could Sein persuade Micaela even if he did?
Even he, for his part, could do nothing against her.
Taking a life to have a baby, Ms. Micaela is a real piece of work.
Did he know that his casual wager almost cost her and him their lives?
Sein reassured, “Although Ms. Micaela is bad with her postpartum hemorrhage, the good news is that the person has been revived and should no longer be in danger of death. But going forward it will be good for her to recover and not be so capricious.”
Nico really hated himself for having gone along with her nonsense and whims for once.
That day, Nico sat in a cushioned chair on the boardwalk in somber silence for a long, long time before slowing down and letting out a long sigh.
He accompanied Micaela, again, on a ghostly walk.
This is the last time and there will never be a next time.
Micaela gave birth and the people from the Amengual family came.
Grandfather Amengual and Savanna watched the child with great interest.
Grandfather Amengual smiled as he held his cane and asked Nico, “Nico, does the child have a name yet?”.
Nico looked at him with a cold and expressionless face and said, “Micaela has not woken up yet, choose a name, if you want, you can choose one for him.”
“Brat, your wife isn’t awake, so what’s the point of taking it out on this child, who also doesn’t want to cause his mother to bleed out?”
Nico frowned, annoyed, “Cut the crap, I don’t have the heart for this now that Micaela isn’t awake, do what you want.”
Grandpa Amengual looked at the little white baby and teased him a couple of times, “We’re not going to listen to that bastard father, Grandpa will give you a good name, how about Savanna, what do you think she should be called?”
Savanna rolled her eyes and said, “Grandpa, how about Micaela Amengual? Micaela Amengual, which just so happens to be mom and dad’s names together. ”
Grandpa Amengual frowned, “It’s not good for the child to be named after the parents, it’s a bit taboo. We are The Amengual family… how about Cerrato Amengual. ”
“Grandpa Cerrato … it’s a nice, catchy name.”
Grandpa Amengualang smiles and asks, “Nico, what do you think of Cerrato?”.
“Feel free.”
With two lazy words, Nico got up and walked out of the nursery, saying, “I’m going out to smoke a cigarette.”
Grandfather Amengual growled at him, “The boy…”
Savanna put her arm around Grandpa Amengual and said, “Grandpa, please be understanding, my brother was very scared when his sister-in-law had a hemorrhage the day she gave birth, he doesn’t want to look at little Chau Chau right now and his mind is not on the baby, he won’t be like this when he wakes up.”
Grandpa Amengual bristled, “Forget it, I’m not going to argue with that bastard. Little Cerrato, do you like the name Grandpa gave you? Hum if you like it… Ah, yes.”
Nico went to the open back garden of the hospital and took a cigarette out of the box, but realized he had quit smoking for too long and didn’t have a lighter.
Nico scratched the hair on the back of his neck, annoyed.
Savanna followed him out of the nursery and saw Nico standing in a corner of the garden in a depressed state.
She ran over and handed the lighter to Nico, “Here, brother.”
Nico froze and frowned slightly, “Where did you get a lighter for a little girl?”.
“Rabago is here too, I took it with him.”
Nico’s long fingers waved the lighter and the cigarette moved closer to the flame and ignited.
Nico took a puff on his cigarette and handed the lighter back to Savanna, reaching out to rub Savanna’s head and smiling, “Brat, you’re so smart, you know I’m short on lighters.”
Savanna smiled nervously and said, “I figured my brother wouldn’t have a lighter on him. He’s given up smoking for a long time, and after marrying his sister-in-law, I’m sure he’s even less likely to smoke, so it’s strange that he’d have a lighter on him.”
Nico didn’t deny it, “I haven’t smoked for a long time.”
The year he divorced Micaela, he quit smoking for good, and later reconciled with her and remarried.
Nico clenched his cigarette, looked at it, smiled again at Savanna with hooked lips and said unconsciously, “Your sister-in-law works better than cigarettes.”
He also became much more addicted to Micaela, than to cigarettes.
Savanna said, “Brother, sister-in-law will get well, don’t worry, you haven’t taken a good look at little Cerrato since he was born, even if he was just born and doesn’t know how to recognize people, even if it’s not for little Cerrato’s sake, for sister-in-law’s sake. Even if you feel sorry for your sister-in-law, you can’t take it out on a newborn child.”
Nico smoked a cigarette for a while, the melancholy between his brows only dispersed a little, “I’m not taking it out on that child, just … I thought of your sister-in-law who suffered so much for the birth of this child, I can’t give that child a good face. Every time I see him, I think about your sister-in-law … almost dying in front of me. savanna, your sister-in-law already died once, but at least not under my eyes, but this time, she almost died under my eyes. You don’t understand how scared I was.”
Scared, I hope this child, never gets any better.
