Chapter 10: Don’t go overboard
Orlando stopped, looked at Vanessa fiercely and threatened her with a serious grin.
-You’re off the hook today, but I won’t spare you, Vanessa.
Vanessa saw Orlando storming off, then she fell to the ground, pale and frightened, not knowing what would happen to her next.
Back in the studio, Gerardo looked at his only grandchild with coldness, very different from the kind treatment he gave to Vanessa.
-Grandfather.
Orlando greeted him and was stopped by Gerardo as he was about to sit on the sofa.
-Stand up!
Orlando frowned, stood unhappily and asked impatiently:
-What’s going on?
-And you ask me what’s going on? -Gerardo looked at Orlando in disappointment and asked in a serious voice: *What happened between you and Vanessa?
-What can happen to us? -Orlando snorted, replying indifferently.
-What about Melina? What is your relationship with this girl?
-It’s just for fun.
Orlando didn’t like to mention Melina, although he hated Vanessa’s “betrayal”, that’s why he kept humiliating her by taking advantage of Melina. In reality, Melina was nothing compared to Vanessa, so she was just a tool for his revenge. Besides, Melina was smart and obedient, that’s why Orlando kept her by his side.
-It’s better than you say,” Gerard snorted.
Vanessa thought Gerardo didn’t know about her broken relationship with Orlando, but as the leader of the Moya family, how could he not know about it?
Although Gerardo was satisfied with Vanessa, he did not think it was inappropriate for Orlando to be unfaithful to her, as men are born to be “romantic”. As long as Orlando didn’t cross the line, Gerardo was not going to intervene.
However, his main intention was not to scold Orlando, but to warn him about another matter.
-Dylan is coming back,” Gerardo said unhappily, and Orlando frowned almost immediately.
-Dylan? Why would he come back? To visit us?
Orlando never used to see Dylan, but because of Gerardo’s influence he disliked this guy. Also, because Dylan was outstanding and had achieved a lot of success abroad, Orlando always treated him as a hated rival, even though Orlando was the nominal heir of the Moya family, and Dylan was a nobody, since his father was Gerardo’s older brother. If it wasn’t for the fact that Dylan was abroad most of the time, he might have been the potential heir.
-I fear that his return is not simply a matter of nostalgia, perhaps his intention is to develop his business in the country.
-Grandfather, what are you going to do about it? -asked Orlando with a serious expression.
-Let’s see what Dylan is going to do. Behave yourself, concentrate a bit more on your work and don’t embarrass me in front of the others. Anyway, Dylan is my nephew and your uncle.
-I understand,” Orlando nodded cautiously. Since it was about the inheritance, he would take it seriously.
-Tomorrow stay at home and help Vanessa organise the banquet. It’s to welcome Dylan and we have to prepare everything well so there won’t be any criticism of having mistreated my only nephew.
-Don’t worry grandfather, I’ll take care of it. If there’s nothing more to say, I’ll take my leave. Get an early rest.
-Be that as it may, Vanessa is your wife, don’t go too far in some areas.
