Chapter 46 Being Forced to Do It.
Chapter 46 Being Forced to Do It.
They were all actors in the entertainment industry. If they did not cooperate in the future, it was difficult
to maintain their friendship. Moreover, they should be grateful that they became friends in the crew
even though they were in the industry which was full of intrigues.
Harriet chose the restaurant for their dinner. Although it was not as high-end as Keith's style, it was a
famous mid-range one.
The waiter brought the menu when they arrived, "The dishes are very delicious here. You can check
what you want to eat."
"You pick it and I will eat whatever you choose."
Harriet smiled helplessly. "Okay, then I'll place the order. There are a few dishes that must be ordered
when you are here to enjoy the food."
After the waiter finished serving the food, Keith asked for the red spicy dishes on the tale.
"Harriet, do you love spicy food?"
"Yeah, I like it since my childhood. What's wrong? Don't you like spicy food?"
"No, I like it, too."
Keith put a piece of food in his mouth rigidly. "It's delicious."
"Then help yourself. This Chop Bell Pepper Fish Head is their signature dish."
"Okay."
Keith put a piece of Chop Bell Pepper Fish Head into his mouth and swallowed it directly.
Harriet looked at his pale face, and realized he was not good, "Keith, why do you swallow it directly?"
"Ah? I have chewed it."
"Are you OK?"
"I am fine."
"You have sweat on your forehead." Harriet suddenly panicked, "Can you not eat spicy food?"
"I can."
Keith's hands were shaking, and he drunk a large glass of plum juice.
"Hey, Keith, are you okay?"
"..."
Half an hour later, at the emergency department of California Beloved Hospital—
Keith's housekeeper pushed the door out at the entrance of the infusion room,
"Miss Clark, thank you for sending Master Keith to the hospital in time."
"It's my fault," Harriet said, apologizing. "I don't know he can't eat spicy food."
"Master Keith has got a stubborn temper since he was a child. He probably did that because Miss Clark
loves spicy food."
"He didn't need to force himself to do that. You should talk with him about it when he wakes up."
Harriet was a little speechless as she had never seen such a stubborn child.
"Miss Clark, don't you stay and wait for Master Keith to wake up?"
"Sorry, I have to work tomorrow. I will go back to the hotel first. Please give my best to him when he
wakes up."
"Miss Clark,"
"What's wrong?" Harriet felt that Uncle Nick would want to say something. “You can say it forthrightly."
Uncle Nick frowned, and said seriously after pondering,. "Even though our Master Keith looks like a
kind man, he is quite arrogant. He is the man who wants to get everything he likes. If he cannot get it,
he will do many incredible things. Please forgive him if he does something wayward to you."
"He's just a kid." Harriet didn't take it seriously and smiled politely, "I won't have too much contact with
Keith in the future after the filming is over."
"Then I will not disturb Miss Clark."
"Well."
Harriet pondered what Uncle Nick just said when she left the hospital. She felt it was wired what she
not expressed it clearly.
It happened that the phone rang, interrupting her thoughts.
The word ‘Jack' was particularly prominent on the screen. She frowned and stared at it for a while
before pressing the answer key.
"Hello, Jack, what's the matter? It has been very late right now."
"Boss Wesley worked overtime in the company tonight and hasn't eaten dinner yet, so you can come
over and cook for him."
"What?"
Jack's voice is as calm as usual, "Boss said he would like to eat beef noodles."
Harriet regained her mind.
"It's too late now. Just let him eat something randomly."
She thought she had signed the contract and had no relationship with Wesley anymore. There was no
reason to cook for him already.
"I don't have time. And you can tell him that his prospective mother-in-law gave me money to keep me
away from him. I cannot offend her so I already took the money and signed the contract. If he is hungry,
he can find his fiancée."
"Miss…"
The phone hung up before Jack finished his words.
"Boss, Miss Clark..." He looked up with embarrassment.
The man in suit sitting at the huge mahogany desk seemed completely unaffected by the words that
the phone just openly broadcast.
He signed the contract in the last page quickly and piled it up at side casually. There was a sneer in the
corner of his mouth and coldness in his eyes when he looked up, "This is a good excuse. She took the
Jones Family's money and thought that she could get rid of me from then on. What a nice dream she
has."
Harriet took a shower and heard the doorbell ringing when her hair was blew half dry.
The takeaway was delivered so soon! She turned off the hair dryer and opened the door.
She glanced out of the cat's eyes deliberately in case there would be something unexpected
happened. She assuredly opened the anti-theft lock after confirming that it was the delivery man
wearing a blue rider uniform.
But after opening the door, she thought the man was strange, and she spotted that there were two
figures standing beside.
They were definitely Wesley and Jack.
Harriet closed the door with her first reaction.
With a bang, a big hand pressed against the door, and that force could not be stopped by Harriet.
She met Wesley's cool eyes when she looked up, "You are really getting bolder now."
"No, I...I didn't recognize it is you." Harriet wriggled her lips and grinned, "I am too sleepy and hungry,
so I did not know it is you."
"Really?" Wesley sneered. "Do you ordered the takeaway? You won't be hungry after you finish eating.
And you can see clearly who I am till the time."
"No, Mr. Smith, didn't Jack tell you? We better not meet each other."
"Are you sure you want to have conversation with me here?"
There may be actors or staff members of the same group coming out of the corridor at any time. Once
they were spotted, it is quite tricky to deal with even though it was not a big issue.
Harriet felt outrageous in her mind, but she had to make way to her side.
Jack let the delivery man leave when the door was opened and did not forget to put the takeaway to
the room when he left.
After door was closed, there were only Harriet and Wesley in the room.
A "pop" sounded crisply, and the black folder was smashed on the table, echoing in the quiet room,
which was a bit sharp, piercing Harriet's eardrum.
"Did you sign it?"
Wesley looked at her with his cool dark eyes.
Harriet opened the first page of the document, then quickly raised her head and looked directly at the
eyes of Wesley.
"Yes, I signed it."
"So, that's why you deliberately ignored me these days?"
"Ms. Jones has come to me with threats and tempting. I was forced to do that."
"Are you forced?" Wesley felt a little upset, "I think you are enjoying it."
"Do you think I am enjoying it? Did you watch the news in the past two days, or did you neglect
anything related to me?"
Harriet snorted, leaning her back gently on the edge of the table, half-dried long hair spread casually on
her shoulders, and the bathrobe was a little loose,
"I'm just a unknown actor and has been on the hot search frequently during this time. The resources
that you gave me personally are also robbed. Do I really enjoy it?"
