Chapter 82

Chapter 82 Do You Want to Have a Look?

After coming home from the hospital, Betty took a bath and finally felt that the disinfectant smell on her was washed away.

Lying in bed, she immediately became very sleepy.

She didn‘t like hospitals, so she couldn‘t sleep well in the past few days. Fortunately, she was quickly di scharged.

She turned over and didn‘t notice that she had been lying in the right part of the bed where Kerwin slept .

Her head sank into the soft pillow, and she suddenly smelled Kerwin‘s smell.

It was the shampoo he usually used, which

mixed with the light smell of cigar, making

her suddenly feel secure. She didn‘t want to

roll back to her position, but leaned against his pillow and fell asleep.

In the evening, when Kerwin returned to the room, he saw Betty lying on his side of the bed like a kitten.

He stopped for an instant. Then a smile curved his lips.

After closing the door, he stood up from his wheelchair silently and walked to the bedside.

Betty was sleeping sound and didn‘t notice that he was approaching her.

Kerwin wanted to tuck her in, but when he lifted the quilt, he saw the wound on her arm and frowned.

Although she avoided splashing water on her wound when taking the bath, the bandage still got wet. S he forgot to change her dressing before going to bed.

Kerwin became upset.

She was a grown–up, but she still didn‘t

know how to take care of herself.

He wanted to wake Betty up and ask her to change the bandage, but seeing her sleeping so sound whil e drooling on his pillow, he couldn‘t bear to do that

With a sigh, he picked up the medicine she brought back from the hospital from the nearby table, put it on the bed, and carefully removed her bandage.

Betty was sleeping. She faintly felt that someone was touching the bandage on her arm. She ignored it, but a wave of pain suddenly came from her wound. She woke up with a start, “Ouch!”

She opened her eyes, and saw her husband sitting next to her with a cotton swab in his hand. The bandage on her arm had been removed, revealing the injury.

“Kerwin?” She froze, “You‘re back?”

“Yes.” Kerwin didn‘t look at her, just

continued to disinfect her wound.

Betty‘s ‘The woman‘s face distorted in pain and she curled up unconsciously, “Oh… easy, easy.”

Kerwin raised an eyebrow, “I‘m gentle with this, okay? You forgot to change the dressing on time. The wound is a little festering. I have to clean it up before applying the medicine.”

Betty suddenly remembered that when she left the hospital, the doctor did ask her to change the dressing twice a day, but she didn‘t change it during the day because she dir ectly went to bed.

“I forgot…” She whispered.

Kerwin glanced at her discontentedly and pressed her wound a little heavily, “You actually forget such an important thing. Should I send you back to the hospital?”

Feeling the pain from her lesion, she turned

pale and pleaded for mercy, “I‘m sorry, but I was really tired. You can ask Lillian to remind me every day.”

Betty The woman broke into a cold sweat on her forehead. He immediately became truly gentle with her and frowned, “Is it reall y that painful?”

“Of course, you‘ll know after being stabbed.” Betty muttered.

She said that casually, but Kerwin‘s eyes darkened and he said in a low voice, “I got stabbed before.”

She was stunned and looked at him, “When you are kidnaped ten years ago?”

Kerwin was a pampered and spoiled child. He couldn‘t suffer such a serious injury, except in the kidnap ping ten years ago.

“Yes.” He lowered his head to apply the medication for Betty, so she couldn‘t see the look on his face, “I was stabbed three times

in the thighs. If I hadn‘t got medical treatment in time, I would have been crippled.”

Betty‘s arm trembled. Then she realized how irresponsible her marks were. Her eyes darkened and sh e whispered, “I‘m sorry…”

“For what?”

“I shouldn‘t have mentioned that.” Kerwin went through such a terrible thing. She suddenly felt that com pared with him, she was like making a fuss over her minor injury.

“It‘s okay.” Kerwin said in a low voice.

Betty couldn‘t help asking, “Did the wounds leave any scars? Are there any after–effects?”

She saw him half– naked in the bathroom before, but he was wearing a bath towel around his waist. So, she didn‘t see his

“I had great physiotherapy, so there aren‘t any serious after– effects, but the wounds will hurt on rainy days.” Kerwin answered in a flat tone. As if thinking of somethin

“Huh?” Betty was surprised. His scars were in such private part. How could she see them? She hurriedly said, “No, no – ah!”

As she refused, a sharp pain suddenly came from her wound, and she screamed.

“I finally got this dirty thing off your wound.” Betty turned pale in pain, but Kerwin still looked detached. H

She froze for a while. When she saw a large festering blood scab on the cotton swab, it dawned on her.

Kerwin said that to divert her attention because he needed to remove a large blood scab for her.

“The last step, apply some medicine.” Looking at her pale face, the man softened his tone. He took a new cotton swab and wiped her wound, “Just hold on.”

“Yeah, I know, but ah… Easy… Ah… Not here. Easy, okay?”

In the room, Betty was bearing the pain as Kerwin applied the medicine for her. She didn‘t know that Lill

The woman came up to ask them to go downstairs for dinner, but when she got to the door, she heard Betty screaming and some other words like “no” and “easy“.

Lillian naturally got the wrong idea.

However, she was more cheerful, leaving the thing that she was going to do behind, and went back downstairs in a hurry.

“Where are Mr. Martin and Mrs. Martin?” Robert, who was downstairs, frowned when

he saw Lillian coming downstairs alone, “Come on, the food is going to be cold.”

“Oh, leave the dinner behind.” Lillian came up to him with ruddy cheeks, “They are busy in the room. Do
