Contract Go Wrong: The CEO’s Tempting Bride

Chapter 30 He Doesn’t Care

Even she has confidence in her work and knew the dress was beautiful, the feeling she gets on hearing the same compliment from others was indescribable.

Maybe she should open her own brand. But she had to get a license first, and that won’t happen until she finishes fashion school.

Her eyes dimmed and she slumped down on the couch. Everything that happened was partly her fault. If only she had followed her father’s advice and continued with the school at that time. But she was blinded by love and thought everything would be in her favor.

After sulking for a while, she brought out her phone and switched it on, then dialed her friend’s number.

The phone rang for a long time before it was picked up.

“Gina, how could you do that to me? You dared hang up on me!?”

Dinah’s furious voice came from the other end.

Gina distanced the phone from her ear until the girl was done with her outburst.

“I’m so sorry, Dinah, I—”

However, Dinah was not done yet, and before she could finish her words, the furious voice came again.

“You’d better have a good explanation for that, and don’t even think of evading me next time, I’m not done with you yet!”

Her voice sounded busy and before Gina could process anything the call was brutally cut off.

“Come on!” Gina whined and stared at the phone perplexedly. Didn’t she know that her life was now in danger because of the words she uttered?

She wasn’t sure if Adrian was going to let her go after hearing the girl’s brutal words in the elevator.

‘Argh!’ Why does everything seem to be against her?

She watched the time and wondered when he would come.

If only she could find a way to escape before he comes back. But even if she escape where would she run to?

‘Hmmm,’ she sighed helplessly, lay on the couch, and awaited her fate while staring blankly at the ceiling. And the look he had given her before leaving the elevator kept flashing through her mind.

A few hours later, Adrian sat across the desk, his attention was on the document in front of him.

His eyes darted to the couch where a girl was sleeping soundly, then he looked down at his wristwatch and his brows furrowed.

His phone started ringing and he glanced at the caller’s name with a sigh.

He picked up the call and after listening to the person at the other end, stood up and walked toward the couch.

He looked down at the girl who still had her eyes closed, and was laying straight, facing the ceiling with both palms resting on her stomach.

His frown deepened and he leaned in closer then placed his finger below her nose. Only after he felt the hot breeze against his finger did his expression turn normal.

‘Why does she sleep like a dead person? Hmph, so unladylike’

He tapped on the couch’s headrest and seconds later, watched as she flickered her eyes open.

“Get up” he commanded and started walking to the door.

Gina rubbed her eyes and watched his back in a daze. Her eyes widened and she quickly got down, picked up her bag, and rushed after him.

“A… Adrian” she called out as they passed the secretaries area which was now empty.

Adrian did not glance back and continued striding toward the elevator.

Gina increased her space and finally caught up with him as the elevator door opened.

“About the phone call earlier” she continued while standing far away from him inside the elevator. “Please don’t take it to heart, Dinah did not really mean all she said, she was just mad that—”

“Shut up!”

Adrian cut her off and stopped in front of her. He grabbed her chin and said, “This should be the last time I’m saying this, I won’t have you or your lowly kinds disrespecting my name… and next time, it isn’t going to be just a warning.”

‘Her lowly kinds?’ his words were like needles pricking through her heart.

Gina clenched her fists and endured the force he was exerting on her chin.

Her friend had only uttered those words out of outrage and hadn’t meant any of them. Why would he call her lowly?

“Adrian… she hadn’t meant to—”

“Who said you could say my name?”

He cut her off again. He exerted more pressure on her chin and Gina shut her eyes tightly.

She was afraid that if he continued doing that, her jaws might break any moment. But she didn’t sob nor make a sound.

After seeing the amount of power that he held in the whole country, not only her but even her whole family and friends could be wiped off with a snap of his finger.

“Th… then what should I call you?” her voice quivered. He scoffed and finally released her chin.

“I don’t care” Adrian replied, and turned his back to her. He wasn’t that petty to punish her foul-mouthed friend who was just like an ant to him, however, he had to teach her a lesson.

Gina opened her eyes and rubbed her chin. She nodded in agreement and lowered her head. ‘Hmph I will just call you devil then, or monster, or even both’ she sneered inside. As those were the only befitting terms to his disposition.

“When we get home, behave yourself,” he commanded in a cold voice.

‘Huh?’ Gina frowned but quickly nodded. But if she couldn’t say his name how could she strike up a conversion with him?. Of course, she wasn’t tired of her life to call him a devil right to his face.

She still has to find a way to achieve her dreams.

“Quit bobbing your head like a lizard and answer me,” he ordered again.

“Y… Yes, I’ll behave myself” Gina muttered rapidly and cowered back.

When the elevator came to a stop, Gina felt all her energy drained up from standing too long in the same proximity as the devil.
