Chapter 91
“In that case, I’ll need to call in reinforcements.” Hanna sighed.
She called Kim and Raine and asked for their help. She hoped since they had once lived in the clubhouse, they’d help her with her parents. They got dressed and headed over to her home.
Sam, Smokey, and Snake were sitting in the living room waiting. When they walked in Sam jumped up.
“Maverick what the hell were you thinking? Hanna still has high school and beauty school. I don’t see how this can work right now.” Sam demanded.
“For now, Hanna can move in with me until she leaves. Then we can take turns on weekend trips. It’s only eight months. We can handle it.” Maverick explained.
Smokey jumped up. “Fuck no! My daughter is not living at the clubhouse!”
Kim, Ice, Raine, and Jax walked in.
“Ya remember me and Raine lived there and were fine.” Kim reminded them.
“Yeah, I mean we had a couple skank issues, but we were fine.” Raine replied.
“Lucas, you can give Maverick a raise so they can afford to get their own apartment right?” Sam asked.
“Sure, beautiful whatever you want. Business is good, money is good, and Maverick’s talents are worth it.” Snake agreed.
Maverick, Maddox, and Brady all work with Snake at his custom bike shop. They repair motorcycles and do custom rebuild jobs.
“There, that’s settled. You can find an apartment to move into after you finish high school.” Sam explained.
“Mom, I am 18! I don’t have to have your permission so please don’t make me choose between you and Mav.” Hanna pleaded.
“I won’t even be working the eight months I’m in school so we’ll only have his income. We’re not sure he could even pay all the bills an apartment involves.
“Actually baby, I’ve got money saved. Depending on the rent and utilities, I can probably cover us while you’re gone.” Mav replied.
“Yes, and if y’all need any help you just need to let us know.” Raine explained.
“Hanna, I just want what’s best for you. I want you to finish high school and follow your dreams.” Sam replied.
“Mom, I’m not stupid. You raised a smart independent woman. I am finishing high school and going to beauty school. I’m not stupid enough to blow off graduation this close! I promise you that.” Hanna replied.
“I’ll hold you to that, but I don’t like it! I know I can’t stop you.” Sam grudgingly replied.
“Let’s get to looking for that apartment.” Smokey replied rubbing Sam’s arms.
“And to help out, we’ll pay the deposit and first month’s rent so my baby doesn’t live in that clubhouse.” Sam ordered.
“Mom!” Hanna argued.
“Don’t argue kiddo. Pick your battles, remember?” Snake asked.
“Fine.” Hanna huffed.
“And as a house warming gift, me and Jax will cover the next 2 months rent.” Raine replied.
Just then there’s a knock at the door. “I’ll get it.” Sam said.
She goes to the door and there’s a young blonde headed girl standing there. She looks familiar and could almost be Hanna’s twin.
“Can I help you?” Sam asked.
“Is Smokey home?” She asked.
Sam turned her head and hollered at Smokey.
“Yes baby? He asked.
“It’s for you.” Sam replied crossing her arms.
Smokey walked up to them. “Who are you?”
“I’m your daughter Adriana.” She replied.
“Nice try kid, but I’ve only got one daughter and you ain’t her.” He explained.
“Look, my mom died last week and on her death bed she finally told me who my father is. My birth certificate says unknown. And she never would tell me about you. I’ll even do a paternity test, actually I demand one because I want to know the truth! I want to know my real father.” She exclaimed.
“Who was your mom?” Smokey asked.
“Melanie James, but I think you knew her as Daisy.” She answered.
“Shit! Come in.” Smokey replied.
“Take a seat and explain.” Sam ordered.
“When mom got kicked out of the club, she didn’t know she was pregnant. She was 14 weeks when she found out. She said during that time frame she had only been having sex with two guys and once I was born, she knew which one was my dad.” Adriana explained.
“Who was your mom?” Raine asked.
“Daisy.” Adriana replied.
“No offense, but your mom hardly ever told the truth. So, how did she know for sure it was Smokey? And only two guys? I find that very hard to believe.” Raine retorted.
“Mom said the other guy was dark skinned, black hair, with brown eyes. She’s blonde with green eyes and I’m blonde with blue eyes. Mom said she came to tell you about me when I was four and saw you with Sam and a little blonde-haired girl that looked a lot like me. So, she decided against disrupting your lives.” Adriana explained.
“Wow, doesn’t sound like the Daisy we knew.” Sam replied.
“Mom changed. She told me how she was here at your club. But when she moved back home with her parents, she got clean from the drugs and alcohol. She started going to church and met a guy. They got married when I was five. It was his idea for her to tell you about me.” Adriana explained.
“Look, I know mom did some bad things to make y’all hate her, but she was a good mom to me and really turned her life around. She passed away last week from cancer.” She replied.
“Did her husband treat you good?” Smokey asked.
“He was strict, but he wasn’t mean to me. He never hit me or abused me. We had a nice home and food on the table. He was good to my mom and they loved each other.” Adriana replied.
“I’m glad she turned her life around.” Raine replied. “Well guys, I’ve gotta head home. Jax is there waiting on me.”
“Yeah, I got run too. Ice has already texted me at least three times!” Kim retorted.
Both ladies left. Smokey turned to Sam. “Hot stuff, can we let her stay in one the guest rooms? Then Monday we’ll go get the paternity test done.”
“Fine.” Sam replied.
“I can stay at a motel. Just point me in the right direction.” Adriana replied.
” No need. We have plenty of room.” Smokey replied.
“Let me introduce you to everyone.” Smokey replied.
“That’s Brady, he is Sam and Snake’s son. Hanna is mine and Sam’s daughter. Maverick is Raine and Jax’s son. And Jessie is Snake’s niece.”
“I’m Snake.” Lucas replied.
“And Maverick is my boyfriend. He’s taken.” Hanna retorted.
