Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 944

Chapter 944

He had indeed done something wrong, but he was not a child; he was a strong and tall man. Yet at this moment, he was helpless like a child, creating a somewhat humorous contrast.

Rosalie stood up from the couch, adjusted her clothes, and walked toward the dining room.

When she reached the dining table and before she could sit down, Vincent said, "Wait a moment."

He then pulled out a chair for her. "Please sit."

After pulling out the chair, he laid a napkin for her and poured her a glass of drink.

Rosalie looked at him incredulously. "What are you doing?"

"Eating." After saying these two words, Vincent sat down opposite her.

He avoided Rosalie's gaze, as if he were trying to hide.

Rosalie made Toscanian food, which Vincent loved. He had requested her to cook it for every meal.

He picked up his cutlery and helped Rosalie to some food. "Eat more."

Rosalie realized he was apologizing to her. Pulling out her chair, laying the napkin, and serving her food-this was Vincent's way of saying sorry. Rosalie put down her cutlery and said, "I accept your apology. You don't have to do all this."

She was quite unaccustomed to it. Furthermore, she didn't blame him. It was evident he hadn't meant to hurt her. She could sense his sadness and fear, especially when he called out for Youngie.

Vincent lowered his head and said nothing. He proceeded to eat his meal quietly.

Rosalie felt helpless; this man was quite awkward.

The two of them finished dinner in silence. Rosalie stood up to clean the dishes, but Vincent was quicker, taking the initiative to clear the table.

"I'll do it." Rosalie stepped forward to take a plate, but Vincent was faster and placed all the dishes in the sink.

"I'll wash the dishes. You go and rest."

Seeing how earnest he was, Rosalie didn't insist further. It was nice to take a break from washing the dishes.

She went and sat down on the

couch in the living room. On the

coffee table lay Vincent's phone. She

picked it up and glanced at it; there was a lock screen. She wanted to call Sebastian to tell him she was safe.

However, her phone was dead, and there was no compatible charger around. She had asked Vincent, but he simply said he didn't have one When she wanted to go out to buy one, he wouldn't let her. He might be afraid she would run away.

She wondered how Steve was doing. Only four more days; she could bear with it. After four days, she could go home. Perhaps Vincent wasn't used to washing the dishes, because she heard the sound of a plate breaking.

Vincent cursed himself under his breath.

Rosalie got up from the couch and walked toward the kitchen. "Do you need help?"

"No need," Vincent replied, turning his head. "I'll be done soon. You should sit down."

Rosalie shook her head helplessly and returned to the couch. Since he said he could handle it, she would let him. Washing the dishes seemed like fighting a battle for Vincent. He had splashed water everywhere around the sink. After finally cleaning up, he set the sponge aside, washed his hands, and returned to the living room. Rosalie looked up at Vincent. He still seemed to be avoiding her gaze.

From his appearance, he couldn't be more than thirty years old. He was probably twenty-seven or twenty-eight. "It's okay. I don't blame you. I know you didn't mean it."

Vincent turned to look at her. "Really?"

Rosalie nodded. "Yes. Next time,
