Chasing My Ex-wife Back

Chapter 113

Chapter 113

Author’s Note: Hi guys, I added more chapters. Please read from Chapter 110 again because I made some changes. Thank you for supporting this story.

“I’ve pleaded guilty to everything I’ve done. I know I would probably be in jail forever paying for my sins but I don’t

mind because I know that I deserve it.”

“I just pray and hope that the people I’ve caused sadness have a reason to smile again.”

“Cole is a good man. Connie and I tried to make him fall into our trap but all our efforts were in vain. I have no

doubt he will make Hailey happy so that gives me so much comfort.

“I’m just worried about you. We destroyed your relationship with Hailey and now it’s likely you do life alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I pray that Hailey forgives you.”

Eric wanted to respond to all that she had said but he found it so hard to make any statement. At this point, he was mad at one person and that was himself, for letting a strange woman walk into his life and ruin his home.

The sound of the gate opening with force came through. The officer strolled in.

“Your time is up!” He said to Vanessa, guiding her up.

Vanessa reluctantly rose to her feet, whispering to Eric. “I’m so sorry.”

Eric looked away from her as the prison officer took her away. Once they were out of sight, Eric brought his hand to his face and wiped tears away from the corner of his eyes, wondering how he had ruined his life so much and was

now left with nothing.

Eric raised his head when the sound of the gate came through. He looked in that direction and came face to face

with Connie in her inmate attire. Her eyes and lips were so swollen that he almost did not recognize her.

The officer took his leave, after which Connie sat before Eric.

“Is Vanessa my daughter?” He asked, glaring at her.

Connie said nothing.

“So you came into my life to destroy me?”

Don’t

you dare blame me cos you know we are both at fault! You flirted with me before I targeted you as my prey. I seduced you and you fell for it.

“I destroyed nothing. It was obvious you weren’t happy with your home and don’t you dare act like you enjoy all of the sex and fun nights we had while you were still married to your wife.”

didn’t

“If you were content with your marriage and family, we wouldn’t have crossed paths with each other.”

“Poor Anna. I had to eliminate her from the picture since she started to become so unbearable. I should have done the same to Hailey.

Eric suddenly stopped breathing for a second. He rose to his feet, his eyes filled with so much anger and pain. “So you had something to do with my wife’s death?”

Connie rolled her swollen eyes at him, not giving two fucks about Anna being dead or how Eric felt.

Connie had no idea when Eric approached her on the other end of the table and gave her two punches in the face. He pushed her to the floor, about to start hitting her when the officer came running in.

The moment Cole pulled up in front of the house, he hurriedly got out of the driver’s seat and went to the passenger seat to open the door for Hailey. He helped her unbuckle her seatbelt and then carried her out in a bridal style.

Hailey chuckled, instantly wrapping her arms around his neck. “You know I can walk, right?”

“Yeah, but I’m just following the doctor’s instructions.” Cole shut the door with a hand and then carried Hailey in.

He went straight to her bedroom and placed her on the bed in a sitting position. He placed two pillows behind her back for comfort, kissed her forehead, then pulled away.

“Welcome home. You want to take a bath first or you want me to make something for you to eat.”

“I’m not hungry.”

“You sure?”

She nodded.

“I’ll just have fruits after I’m done taking a shower.”

“I should prepare a bath for you. It’s going to strengthen your sore muscles.”

Hailes shook her head, staring sheepishly. “I’ll use the shower. You can join me.”

“No. I’ll take a shower after you are done.”

Hailey frowned. “Aren’t you supposed to take care of me? What if I slip and fall?” She finished her statement, pouting.

“You are not going to fall. I’ll be there with you to help you get cleaned up but I won’t be taking a shower with you.” Cole said as gently and politely as possible.

“Yeah! I have a small cut and few bruises and then you suddenly avoid me like a plague. Where’s your love for

me?”

Cole was about to defend himself when she cut him off. “I don’t need your help.”

“Babe!” He held her hand but she shrugged her hand off him.

Hailey helped herself down from the bed and stormed into the bathroom. Cole went after her but she shut the door in his face before he could even plead with her.

“Babe! My love.” He knocked on the door.

“I’m sorry, can you just let me in?”

“Honey?” Cole knocked but didn’t get any response. He sighed deeply and then exited the bedroom.

Cole went straight to the kitchen and searched the fridge if there were fruits available. His phone buzzed in his pocket so he reached for it, swiped to answer, and brought the phone to his ear, closing the fridge.

“Hey,” He said to the other side.

“Are you Okay?” Jess asked with concern.

“Yes. What about you?”

“I’m good. How’s Hailey?”

“She’s better.”

“That’s good to hear. Are you all coming for the trial tomorrow? The judge would be giving the ruling. Ludacris said he isn’t sure if Hailey would show up.”

“I’m not so sure but I think Hailey would want us to be there. What time?”

“9.

“Possibly. I’ll let you know. I’ll drop you a text.”

“That’s fine. I’m so glad for you that all of these will be over soon.”

“Yeah, me too. Connie, Vanessa, and her stupid fans. Holy shit! I just remembered that the courthouse would be crowded tomorrow. Because of Vanessa’s supposed fame.”

“Yeah, that’s why I called to ask if you both would be coming.
