Blood Oath: Forever Yours

Chapter 20: Lawrence’s Daughter

Chapter 20: Lawrence’s Daughter

Ethan seemed shifty-eyed as he whispered softly after casting a quick glance towards an unknown

direction beside him, “Dad is fine, so don’t you worry too much.”

Charlotte instinctively had a sinister foreboding that something had gone wrong, hence she hurriedly

urged him again, “I don’t believe you. Be nice, Ethan, and let me see how Dad is doing right now!”

As soon as she had finished her words, Ethan whom was lifeless and spiritless suddenly lifted his head

and sprang at the camera. He glared at her with his reddened eyes and bawled out regardless of the

consequences, “Why do you allow yourself to be threatened by this damned bitch, Charlotte? Since

you have gotten out, you should run away as far as you can! Just run away right now!”

“Dad and I are not your burden, and we would rather die if we were to tie you down!”

“I know Lawrence has returned, Charlotte. Just tell him the truth, and I’m sure he will help you out! He

will definitely give you a helping hand! Even though he might be angry at you because of the past

incident, he surely won’t stand by and leave you in the lurch…”

A loud slap sounded in the next moment as Ethan was slapped across the face, and he was instantly

dragged away from the camera.

“Ethan?” Charlotte’s heart was stifled instantaneously after witnessing her brother being beaten in front

of her, and when she had finally come to her senses, she slapped on the phone screen maniacally

while shrieking, “Say something, Ethan! What’s wrong with you?”

The screen flickered at that moment, and Evelyn’s vicious face had materialized in front of her eyes.

Charlotte glared at her spiteful countenance while her body trembled all over, and if Evelyn was right in

front of her and not through a screen, she would have destroyed her there and then and perished

together with her.

“I will never let you go even after I’m dead if you ever try to harm my father and brother, Evelyn!”

Evelyn sneered in front of the camera and said, “Don’t worry, I know that you can only pour your heart

and soul into doing what you have to do if they are alive, so they won’t be harmed for now. However,

you have only two weeks to achieve your mission. The fates of your father and brother are in your

hands.”

Beep…

The video call ended abruptly after Evelyn had given her last warning. Charlotte went limp and fell to

the ground with the phone still clenched tightly in her hand as she was out of her wit’s end.

Evelyn had driven her to the wall after that call, and her only way out of this was to go to Lawrence

even if she had known how much he detested her, and that he would not let her off the hook.

It was already eight p.m. when the black Bentley had entered Walvis Manor, the private villa area in

City B which was worth an inch of gold for an inch of land.

Jeffery was behind the wheel in the driver’s seat while reporting to Lawrence whom was seated at the

back about his schedule for the next day.

When the guard rail in front of the courtyard had just been lifted by the guards, a slim figure had rushed

out from the bushes at that moment and thrown herself in front of the car with her arms stretched out…

Beep…

Jeffery slammed on the brakes at once, and the car instantly jerked forward due to the great inertia.

“Sorry for that, Mr. Harris.” Jeffery looked up and stared ahead as he continued, “It’s Ms. Garcia.”

Charlotte was shivering in front of the car either due to fear or the extreme cold, but she decidedly fixed

her gaze on Lawrence whom was seated in the car as she shouted shakily, “I know the last thing that

you want is to see me right now, but I’m begging you to give me some more time. Please…”

“Keep driving.” Lawrence’s emotionless voice sounded from the car.

The car window rolled down slowly to reveal his sullen face in the next moment, and he uttered coldly

without shooting her any glances, “Follow along.”

Charlotte was stunned for a while, but she soon beamed with joy when she had caught on his meaning.

She hurriedly stepped aside to let the car passed by while promptly trotting behind the car and followed

them into Walvis Manor.

What she did not realize was Walvis Manor had occupied a wide area of land, and it would take some

time to reach the living room even by car, let alone to reach on foot especially in her feeble state.

The car passed by the fountain in the courtyard and proceeded to enter the garden, and it had even

dropped by the tennis court at the backyard. After going back and forth for the umpteenth time, the car

finally drove towards the living room.

Charlotte gritted her teeth tightly as she trotted along behind the car non-stop, and she was soon out of

breath after running for some time. She felt abnormally light-headed as if her body was floating on the

cloud.

She knew that Lawrence had done it on purpose knowing that she was following along behind them.

However, she was also aware that no one could enter his residence that easily.

When she had discerned his upright figure disappearing in the living room, she promptly caught up to

him with her final breath.

When she had just stepped foot in the living room, her eyes were instantly laid on a familiar tiny figure

which was not far away from her after raising her head, and it turned out to be Lawrence’s daughter,

Emma.
