They Are Dead
As usual, Lily would check on her kids before retiring to bed every night, she knew for surety that they would have slept but she was found of giving them a night kiss and ensuring their temperature was cool before eventually going to sleep.
On entering the children’s room, she was shocked to see that the children were absent. She even walked closer to the bed and pulled off the duvet from the bed but still, the kids were no where to be found. She checked the toilet but couldn’t find them so she immediately sped out and began to call out their names as she checked every hooks and crannies of the house. When she checked the balcony which was the last place she hadn’t checked, she still didn’t find them there. The fear in her heart increased.
Where could her children be? Did someone take them away cause they can’t just walk away by themselves. She then swiftly ran to Drake Bell’s room. She planted a loud knock on the door and in no time, the door got opened.
Drake Bell could already see the look of distress on her face so he asked seriously, “what’s the matter?”
“I can’t find my kids. I have searched everywhere for them but couldn’t find them,” she said.
Drake Bell stepped out of the room and asked as he walked, “have you searched my mom’s room?”
“Not yet,” Lily answered. Both adults walked swiftly to Lucinda’s doorstep in no time. He knocked on the door but there was no response from the person inside. He knocked repeatedly still no response so he twisted the knob and luckily the door gave way. He was stunned to see Lucinda sleeping sound asleep. He had been knocking very loudly but she didn’t even hear it.
Drake Bell and Lily searched the room as if searching for a needle yet they didn’t see the children so they both walked out. Still, Lucinda wasn’t awake.
“I think someone has taken my children away…” She almost cried.
Drake Bell thought for a while, Amelia left his place a few minutes ago out of anger. Did she take the children away with her? Drake Bell immediately called Amelia’s line and she answered it.
“How dare you take my kids away?” Drake Bell didn’t bother beating around the bush.
“What kids?” Amelia asked ignorantly.
“Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about. I will kill you if anything happens to my children,” Drake Bell threatened.
“Oh my days!” Amelia exclaimed, “Drake Bell, has it come to this? Firstly you accused me drugging you now you are accusing me of taking your kids away? Did you hate me that much?”
Drake Bell hung the call angrily and called his chief of security to check the CCTV camera of the children’s room. Afterall, there is a CCTV camera situated in every sections of the house.
Lily knew that Drake Bell had just call Amelia and honestly, that was the only person she suspected. “Can we just go to Amelia’s house? I’m sure my kids will be there.”
“Let me get a feedback from my chief of security firstly. I’ll find the kids, don’t worry, okay?” he assured her.
Lily nodded but her heart was very disturbed. Drake Bell pulled her closely gently and made her rest on him, “just be calm, okay?”
Lily nodded quietly and remained in his embrace. Soon, Drake Bell received a call from his cheif of security and on answering it, the man spoke, “it seems someone uninstalled the CCTV camera in the children’s room. We can’t find any footage for the past twenty four hours.”
Drake Bell knew at once that his kids were kidnapped and whoever did it was meticulous about it. He immediately call his assistants to look into it.
” Can you wait at home, let me handle this,” Drake Bell said.
“What did the chief of security guard said?” Lily asked.
“The CCTV camera of the children’s room was uninstalled so they couldn’t see their movement. My assistants are already working on it, but I should go to Amelia’s house firstly,” Drake Bell said.
“Please let me follow you. My children are missing, I just can’t stay at home doing nothing,” Lily said.
“Fine,” Drake Bell said and they both walked quickly outside. They were soon inside the car and after a few minutes of fast driving, Drake Bell pulled over before Mila’s house.
Amelia had already suspected that Drake Bell would come, so from her room, she was looking outside through her transparent window from time to time and as expected, she saw Drake Bell’s car pulled over the house.
She immediately stood and went to inform Mila about Drake Bell’s presence. “Mom, Drake Bell is here.”
Mila who was making sauce at that time smirked and said calmly, “if you appear scared, you will confirm their suspicion. I’ll handle it.” Mila them turned off the gas and walked out of the kitchen, on appearing in the living room, she saw two people walking in. They didn’t even bother knocking before entering.
“Mr. Drake… oh my days! Is this a surprise visit?” Mila asked, feigning ignorance as if she had no idea why they were here.
“Bing my children out,” Drake Bell demanded.
Mila expressed a confused expression, ‘I’m afraid I can’t relate with what you are saying, Mr. Drake.”
Drake Bell ignored her and began to search the house with Lily. At the end, they couldn’t find anything.
Drake Bell and Lily appeared back in the living room, Drake Bell then said to Mila and Amelia who were now both standing in the living room, “the both of you are my only suspect.”
Amelia lowered her head, trying to pretend to be sad.
“Mr. Drake, is it not enough that you don’t love Amelia yet you keep accusing her from time to time of what she knows nothing about, this is unfair.” Mila rebuked.
While Drake Bell was thinking of his next step, his phone rang and he answered it at once, “sir… we found the kids.”
“Where?” Drake Bell was about turning to walk away when he suddenly paused at Liam’s words.
“We found their dead bodies beside Fiva river, sir,” Liam said sadly from the other end.
Drake Bell paused and dropped his hand slowly. He felt his world crumbling right before him, Lily noticed something was off so she quickly asked, “what’s wrong? What happened? Is it about my kids? Tell me…”
Lily stood right before him throwing hundred of questions at him, desperate for an answer.”lily…”
“What? Just tell me…” Lily asked aggressively.
“They are dead.”
