CHAPTER 4
Sia’s POV……
We came home after doing shopping. Mom is in the kitchen. When we went inside the kitchen, she was preparing Indian dishes. I tasted Indian dishes and I have to say that Indian dishes are best but I don’t like many spices. I am allergic to it.
“Don’t you think you came so early?” mom said no, actually she mocked us.
“Mom, come on we were shopping and you already know it takes time.”
“Yeah, yeah I know. Did you buy those ingredients which I said?”
“Yes mom, take it. When you will be done with all this then I will bake some muffins okay.”
“Okay, but first you get ready.”
“Alright, alright. I am going.”
“Aunty, give me this I will help you.”
“No, you also go to your room and get ready okay? You both will be wearing Indian dress today.”
“What???? But why? I don’t have any Indian Dress.”
“Why so tension? I am here na, I have lots of Indian dresses. You take mine.”
“Okay fine,” I said and we both come inside Mila’s room. She chose a red Patiala suit for me and she chose a blue Patiala suit for herself. I took the dress and came to my room. I drop the shopping bags and suit on the bed. I took off my shoes, watch, and ring and go inside the washroom for taking a relaxing shower not before playing music on my phone. I love to take showers like this. I started my music and started to sing along with the music. Do you know my favorite singer? I love Taylor Swift. She is my favorite musician after Selena. So I played one of her songs Shake it Off.
“I STAY OUT TOO LATE, GOT NOTHING IN MY BRAIN
THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE SAY, MM, MM
THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE SAY, MM, MM
I GO ON TOO MANY DATES
BUT I CAN’T MAKE’EM STAY
AT LEAST THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE SAY, MM, MM
THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE SAY, MM, MM
BUT I KEEP CRUISIN
CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP MOVIN’
IT’S LIKE I GOT THIS MUSIC IN MY MIND
SAYIN’ IT’S GOONA BE ALRIGHT
CAUSE THE PLAYERS GONNA PLAY, PLAY, PLAY, PLAY, PLAY
AND THE HATERS GONNA HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE
BABY, I’M JUST GONNA SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE
I SHAKE IT OFF, I SHAKE IT OFF (HOO-HOO-HOO)
HEARTBREAKERS GONNA BREAK, BREAK, BREAK, BREAK, BREAK
AND THE FAKERS GONNA FAKE, FAKE, FAKE, FAKE, FAKE
BABY, I AM JUST GONNA SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE
I SHAKE IT OFF, I SHAKE IT OFF (HOO-HOO-HOO)”
When I was singing and someone bangs my restroom door and just then I memorized that we invited some guests and I had to get ready. Now I am all gone
“Are you alive miss Sia or dead there?”
“Right now I am alive,” I said and came outside wearing the bathrobe.
“But you will die soon,” Mila said
“Then help me,” I said because I am so gone. I took a long shower. I showered for 1 hour.
“That’s why I am here my princess.” She said and bend her head a little.
“Thank you, my princess.” I did the same and we chuckle.
“By the way you are looking, breathtaking sweetheart. If their son sees you like this then he will be your fan and that for a lifetime.”
“And if your mom sees you like this then you will be dead madam,” she said and started to laugh
“Oh no. Then help me to get ready.”
“Ok” I wore my Patiala suit and sit in front of my dressing table. Mila did little makeup because we both don’t need loud makeup. She did my hair straight. I wear Jhumka (Earrings), Silver bangles. My heart shape pendent which I always wear. Matching rings and finally, I am ready. I look at myself and I can say that I am looking beautiful in this Indian dress. I tried it for the first time in my life. I never tried before. But now I determine that I will buy some Indian dresses as well.
I know you all are perplexed that Why Mila has so many Indian dresses and she knows 4 languages then I tell you that Her parents are from India as well just like my parents. Her mother is Tamilian. That’s why she knows the Tamil language. When her mother got college admission there she met Mila’s father and my dad was uncle’s best friend and my mother was her mother’s roommate. Their courses were the same as well. Her dad had a crush on her mother and my father had a crush on my mom. One day they both propose to our mothers and after some time they both get married to each other. And for the French language, she learned that language just to enhance her proficiency. Now you understood.
“Wow Sia, you are looking gorgeous. Oh my god! Why didn’t you try to wear Indian dresses before? Touchwood!”
“Oh my god! Just look at our daughter Yash. They both are looking so beautiful” mom and dad came together.
“Yes, they are looking beautiful. When our daughters become so big Dimple?” dad said and we both hugged them.
“Oh my god! Mila di, you are looking awesome and Sia di, is that you?” and here comes my little brother
“Yes bro, that’s me”
“Thank you Re” Mila said to him and kissed him on his cheeks.
“Dad, mom they both are ready to get married now. don’t worry di’s I will take care of your rooms.” He said and we both started to punch him and then we all laughed.
“Sia, I am done with dishes. Now you can bake your muffins.”
“Ok, mom,” I said and after clicking pics I came inside the kitchen and started to bake muffins. After some time I am done with muffins and set them on the dinner table. When I put it on the table
DING-DONG
The doorbell rings. Dad and mom went and unlocked the door and there stood dad’s business partner.
“Yash, my brother.” Ritesh’s uncle said and hugged my dad.
“Ritesh, how are you?” dad asked and hugged him. Mom and Sakshi aunty did the same.
They all came inside and with them, their daughter is here. I know her. Even Mila knows her. We met her today in the mall. We helped her with shopping. Mila also came along with Rehan.
“Hello sir, hello ma’am.” I greet them with a big smiling face.
“Hello, my child how are you?” Sakshi aunty asked and hugged me
“I am doing wonderful aunty. How are you now?”
“I am feeling better my dear.”
“Won’t you welcome me, young lady?”
“Hello sir,” I said and greet him with a big smile.
“Hello, my beautiful daughter.”
“Who is that young lady?” Uncle Ritesh asked.
“She is my best friend Mila Singh” I introduced her to them
“Namaste uncle, Namaste aunty.” She said joining both her hands.
“Namaste beta.” They both said and embraced her as well
“She is just like our daughter. She is our best friend’s daughter.”
“And here we are” we all looked towards the main door and there stood Uncle and aunty, I mean Mila’s parents.
“Mom, dad,” she said and ran towards them and hugged them both tightly.
“Hello uncle, hello aunty,” I said and hugged both of them.
“Hello, my dear daughters.”
“And here comes my Mila’s parents and our best friends Prateek Singh and Suhana Singh” Dad introduced them to Mr. and Mrs. Khanna.
When they all set in the living room after the introduction and hug session. My dad asked about Sakshi aunty’s daughter
“By the way, you have a daughter?” dad asked uncle and she smiled looking at me
“Yes, she is Aradhna. My younger daughter. I have two sons. Elder one is Shaurya Khanna and another one is Arav Arora.” Ritesh’s uncle said and when they introduce it we all get jumbled I think they both understood why we get bewildered
“Arav is my sister’s son. When he was born they both died in a car accident so we embraced him. He doesn’t want to change his surname and we are also not pressurized.”
“Oh is that so, why don’t they both come here.”
“They were coming but at the last moment they fetched with some work so they can’t arrive here.”
“Mom, dad I know her” Aradhna pointed her finger towards us.
“Yes, I know her.”
“So she is the one who helped you in shopping?” Ritesh Uncle said
“Yes, dad.”
“You know Sia, she never did so much shopping in One day. She knows the value of money. But when she did shopping so much today we all get confused and then she told us about you both. Thank you beta for taking care of our daughter.”
“It’s okay uncle.”
“And who is he?”
“He is my youngest son Rehan”
“Hello dear”
“Hel…. hello” he stammered. The Rehan Deewan stuttered. I looked at Mila and she was looking at me already in all surprised and confused. When we both look at him, he was looking at Aradhna. And we both understood that he likes Aradhna
We both stand beside Rehan
“Rehan baby, don’t look at her like a creep,” I said
“Yes, my baby bro. If she catches you then she would feel awkward.” Mila said
“Then she will start to despise you and maybe she would loathe you,” I said
“You are my sisters or my rival? Why are you both scaring me and I am not looking at her like a jerk okay.”
“Yeah, yeah ok fine”
Elders were chit-chatting, laughing, and smiling and we both girls serve them beverages, muffins, and snacks. We all are happy and grinning and Aradhna is such a cutie. She gets along with us and she is babbling but sometimes she gets silent. I can say that she is more mature than our Rehan. She knows when to speak, what to speak, and how to speak. She becomes our favorite friend. Our means Mine and Mila’s. Dad said to give Aradhna a house tour so Rehan stood from his chair and take Aradhna with her. I and Mila went inside the kitchen to look out for preparation.
