Chapter 2
Clyde Dante
I walked into the church and looked for the groom’s waiting room. Today is my best friend’s wedding day and I’m so happy for him. He and Carrie are a really great couple because they support each other and of course love each other.
Jack is the type of guy that is hard to fall in love with, just like me. I’m glad that he found his match and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen him smiling widely. Jack’s parents died in a car crash around 2 years ago and that got him good. Carrie found him when he was on the lowest point of his life. She supports him and brings back the old Jack back.
I knocked on the door and opened it. I found Jack inside the room practicing his vows. He stopped when he was me and he hugged me right away.
“So you’re here for good now?” He asked.
“Yup, I’m back in New York for good.” I said and he patted my shoulder.
“Dude… at last… I’m getting married.” He said and I laughed.
“Yeah, you’re getting married.” I said and he chuckled.
“Gosh… Carrie, she’s so amazing and I can’t wait to have her for the rest of my life.” He said and I nodded.
“Congratulations man, I’m happy for you.” I patted his arm and he looked at me with this weird look.
“When will you get married? Oh yeah… you’re married to your work already.”
“Yes, I am.”
“You should settle down, you know… get married, have kids…” He said and I shook my head.
“Not now, dude. So you’re going to have the reception twice?” I asked and he nodded.
“Yeah, so today only our friends and my family will come and then we will go to San Francisco to celebrate with her friends and family. The people that are coming today… you all know them. It’s basically my closest friends and family.” He said.
“Well that’s great, at least, I know everybody.”
“Sorry dude, you can’t find a new hot girl in here.” He said and I chuckled.
“I don’t need a girl right now. I still love my work.”
“Geez Clyde, you should live your life like Bonnie and Clyde. Your life is so dull and I wish you can meet someone crazy to turn your life a little bit.” He said.
“I’ll see you later.” I said and I walked towards the door. I walked out and walked towards the church. I bumped into someone and when I wanted to say sorry… I raised my eyebrows.
“I’m sorry.” She said and walked past me towards the groom’s waiting room. I felt weird and I ran towards her and I hid behind the wall when I found her calling someone.
“I know… don’t worry. Okay… I will. I’m going towards Jack’s room.” She said and then ended the call. I caught her arm and made her turn to me.
“Who are you?” I asked this black haired girl with green eyes. I don’t know her and I bet Jack doesn’t know her either.
“Who are you?” She asked me as she pushed my arm away. I raised my eyebrows.
“I asked you first and you asked me back. How do you know Jack?” I asked as I looked straight into her eyes.
“How can I not know Jack? He’s the father of our baby.” She said as she pointed at her bump. What?
“What? How?” I asked her disbelief.
“What do you mean how? We had sex, that’s why.” She hissed and she walked away towards Jack’s room. Before she can burst inside… I picked her up in bridal style to get rid of her but she punched me and jumped from my arms. I looked at her disbelief… like crazily disbelief.
“Who are you anyway?” She bursted angrily.
“Jack’s best friend.” I answered and she walked to me slowly. She punched me and kicked my jewel. I fell on my knee completely in pain. She walked away but I quickly got up and ran towards her. I’m not letting my friend have this crazy woman on his way.
I picked up this girl again on my shoulder and I felt something cushy. Hey, she’s not pregnant! That made me angry and when she tried to fight back. I really held her tight so she cannot do anything. I got out from the back and put her into my car. I drove out from the church with her trying to destroy my car.
I drove fast when suddenly she held my steering wheel. My eyes widen and pushed her so she can sit back on her seat. She turned the streeing wheel to the left side and I tried to control back but it’s too late. My car crashed a big tree and my head bumped the steering wheel.
I turned to see the girl got out from my car and I quickly got out before she ruined Jack’s wedding. I ran towards her and caught her arm. She has a lot of scratched on her arms because of the scattered glass.
“What’s your name?”
“Let go of me!” She said as she pushed her nails into my skin. I let her go immediately and she walked away. She called someone and then threw her phone away. I ran towards her and stood in front of her.
“What?” She asked me in a boring tone.
“You’re not pregnant.” I stated and she raised up her dress. She threw away the small pillow.
“Tell me why do you want to tell Jack that you’re pregnant when you’re clearly not pregnant.” I asked and she looked at me coldly.
“You sure talk a lot.” She said coldly as she pulled down the strap of her dress stripping. I closed my eyes and she laughed.
“Naive.” She said and I opened my eyes right away. She has another dress inside her dress. She threw it away and then pushed me to the side.
“Who is this girl? Why is she trying to ruin Jack’s marriage?”
