CHAPTER THIRTY
AS promised, Adriel really didn’t go to the office today. Last night he had called Rizal to handle all his schedules for today, Rizal was one of his confidants in the office as well as his personal secretary. And of course Rizal took orders from Adriel, even though Adriel didn’t tell him the reason for the day off.
Hana had been ready since eight in the morning because she needed to prepare breakfast for David and Serran. Hana wore a large black jacket and a scarf wrapped around her long neck to cover the cuts and bruises that had not yet disappeared from her tan skin. Don’t forget to wear a white mask to cover part of her still red face.
“Why do you look like that?” asked Adriel who had just changed into his more casual clothes.
“Adriel? That. I don’t want people to see my appearance, what will people say later. What’s more, I don’t want people to know that Adriel Vikrama is with a stranger today.” She answered slowly, she straightened her scarf which was a little loose.
“Are you sure?”
Hana nodded confidently. Though they could have gone to a quiet place right?
“Then wait for me a moment.”
Adriel walked back to his wardrobe, he took his jeans jacket , black hat and a mask to cover half of his face. Just like how Hana looks now.
“Let’s go.” Adriel said with the footsteps he carried towards the bedroom door.
“Does You need to do that too? It’s enough for me to cover my face.”
“No, don’t worry. Now let’s go.” he said again.
Adriel and Hana finally walked out down the stairs to go to the first floor to the trunk of the car. In the living room the two of them met Serran who was busy watching television with a box of snacks on his lap. Incidentally today the school did not carry out teaching and learning activities.
“Gosh!!” Serran jumped in surprise when he saw two apparitions not far from his current position. “Yeah! What are you two doing?! Gosh, brother. Why do you two look like that? Are you two a celebrity couple?” he asked angrily to his Brother and Sister.
“Shut up you brat-you don’t know anything. You’d better continue watching your cartoons.” Adriel took off the mask he was wearing and was now glaring at Serran.
“Where’s David?” asked Hana.
“David? He hasn’t left the room since. Maybe he’s still sleeping.”
Hana nodded.
“I already made breakfast. Call David too, eh-!!” Before Hana’s sentence was finished, Adriel’s hand grabbed her hand first.
“We are leaving.” Said Adriel as he kept pulling Hana to go with him.
Side of David.
David parted the curtains in his room, staring at the front yard of his house. He looked at Adriel’s car which was now out of their house area.
David took his cell phone which he put on the table and typed something there.

The journey takes almost an hour and a half to go to the City Park. They both went to the tulip garden which was there, Adriel wanted to go to see the tulips. Adriel and Hana got off at the same time as they arrived at the park’s parking area. The air there is quite cool, enough to give Hana and the baby he’s carrying a refreshment for now, Adriel thought. This is also a sign of his apology. Actually he got a recommendation from Serran.
Hana slowly lowered the pet hat she was wearing. Because now the people who were visiting were staring at Her, it was more precisely at the two of them because of their quite closed appearance.
“Never mind those people.” Said Adriel who glanced at Hana.
“Yes” she answered slowly.
“This.” Adriel raised his hand slightly in the air signaling for Hana to take his hand. Hana stared at the hand for a moment before Hana grabbed the hem of Adriel’s jacket. Not his hands.
Adriel stopped.
His seagull-like eyes stared intently at the hem of his jacket which Hana was holding.
“why?”
“Not like that”
“Then?”
“Stupid.” Adriel stomped his hand slowly making Hana’s grip off. “I should have known you were an idiot.” Adriel slowly hooked his index finger to Hana’s little finger. He pulled slowly until now Adriel’s fingers were holding Hana’s fingers.
“It’s better, people won’t stare at us anymore.” Adriel pulled Hana slowly to continue their journey.
There was no conversation going on between the two of them, until they saw a park bench there.
“Want to rest for a bit?” Adriel asked Hana.
“Sure”
Adriel who was still holding Hana’s hand took Hana with him. He let go of the grip when they both arrived in front of the long bench.
Hana was the first to sit Herself on the bench. Looking at the tulip flower beds which are partly not fully bloomed because now it is not yet spring.
“About what happened that night.”
Hana clenched his fists.
“I don’t want to talk about it Adriel.” Hana answered while still looking straight ahead. “I don’t want to remember it, just when you made me carry my baby. Don’t say anything more. I don’t want to remember those times.”
Adriel was silent, he saw Hana’s hands tightened their grip on each other.
“Okay I won’t go into that, but remember, it’s our baby, not just yours, one more thing. I want to ask you one thing.”
“What?”
“Why do you want to keep the baby so much? Most people would abort it.”
Hana smiled a little.
“How could I not have the heart not to defend it, I’m not that bad. This baby is innocent, he just came at the wrong time. But it’s not because I don’t want it, you must understand.”
Adriel glanced at Hana who was now stroking her stomach before looking straight ahead. They were both silent for a long time, suddenly Adriel felt his cell phone vibrate in his pocket.
“wait a minute here”
Adriel stood up and walked a little away from Hana’s position to pick up his phone. He was talking to someone on the other side while occasionally glancing at Hana. About two minutes of talking Adriel turned off his phone.
“Hana.” Called him when he returned to Hana’s place.
“Hmmm…”
“Can I leave you? I can call the driver for you now.”
Hana looked up.
“No need, I can go home later. I can use a taxi. If you have an urgent need, just go Adriel.”
“Good, then I’ll go”
Adriel turned and jogged leaving Hana who was now staring at the departure.
Hana turned to stare at her stomach.
“Be patient, Mama will get out of the house. Mama is no longer in pain. In fact you have made Mama aware of all the lies that happened.”
After speaking, Hana took out her cell phone to call someone.
“Hello David? Can you pick me up? Looks like Adriel has an urgent need.”
Hana smiled softly.
“Thank you”
Side of David.
Davis turned off his phone with Hana. He stared at the dead phone screen with a blank stare.
“I won’t let you leave my side, Hana.”
Adriel of side
Not far from the park area Adriel is now coming to someone who is doing work here.
“Vania.” He waved at Vania who had just finished her photoshoot.
“Adriel?” she asked surprised when she saw Adriel’s very secretive appearance. And she was very surprised when she saw the bruises on her lover’s face. “Are you fighting?”
Adriel touched Vania’s palm which touched His cheek.
“When I get mad at you, I take it out on someone else. We fight and it’s like this.”
“shh Adriel, why are you like that. I’m sorry, just calm down. I’ve already canceled the contract. I’m really sorry.”
Adriel shook his head.
“It’s okay, want some lunch? I’m hungry.”
Vania nodded.
She quickly wrapped her arms around Adriel’s arm and walked away after asking the manager’s permission.
“I’m sorry Vania, looks like I have to stop here.”
