Chapter 916
Chapter 916
After getting into the car, Victoria tugged at her seatbelt, and a shadow descended next to her. They looked at each other, and time seemed to stop forthem.
Trevor buckled her seat belt for her and helped her adjust to a more comfortable position.
"Thank you."
Victoria's gaze looked starry as her bright pupils squinted into shallow crescents. Under the soft light, her lips were red and her teeth were pearly, making her appear to be covered with a mysterious veil. The sudden epiphany was utterly beautiful to Trevor.
Touching her upright nose and stroking her soft hair, Trevor couldn't help slowly pressing his lips on hers and kissed her. They enjoyed the moment in the darkness of the night and under the warm illumination of the streetlights.
Selena inadvertently looked up and witnessed this scene. Suddenly, she felt like she was struck by lightning. She stopped in shock, and her mind was buzzing. The veins in her body were frozen.
Through the half-open window, they looked like a couple out of a painting. They whispered to each other. Through the music, she could hear the intimate whispers of the lovers from time to time. It was warm and gentle, but it felt grating to her.
Before their panting could subside, they were going at it again.
Victoria pushed Trevor away, half coaxingly and half strictly as she said, "Hubby, stop messing around!"
She feared that reporters might catch them in the act.
After turning around, Trevor quickly fastened his seat belt and took a deep breath. After taking a glance at her, he started the car.
"Sit tight."
If he didn't leave now, he would go mad!
The car sped rapidly. When Selena came back to her senses, the street was empty. Trevor didn't even notice that someone was observing him.
The two of them chatted happily and occasionally looked at each other. They were filled with deep affection. At the red lights, Trevor would take the chance to kiss her.
The atmosphere between them was exciting and stimulating. When they arrived home and the door was closed behind them, they fell into each other's passionate embrace. They shed their clothes, leaving trails of red and black fabric from the entrance to the bathroom. Following that was an endless sound of pleasure.
It was a beautiful night for the both of them, where a white light shone intermittently in the dark as they lost themselves in satisfaction.
After the drinking party, Lauren realized a very serious problem. She never really understood Willy. Her life was at rock bottom again.
As she had gotten used to everything in Casterwich Institute, Willy used his connections to let her return to the place she was familiar with to do some research. But because she was in a daze, she could hardly concentrate on her thoughts.
In the blink of an eye, another day had passed. When she came back to her senses, she was still in a daze and was reading at the lab. It was late at night, and her surroundings were silent as if everyone were asleep. She got up, simply cleaned up and made some essential records. She looked around the place before cutting off the power source and changing out of her work suit.
As she walked out, she felt enveloped by an indescribable and deep sense of loneliness.
She felt as if she had returned to the starting point after a short walk. In the end, she was still alone!
She had nothing left, and she was living under someone else's roof. This feeling was simply too terrible to bear.
Lauren touched her belly and sighed. How miserable could she be? She couldn't believe that she was pregnant. She was used by others and got pregnant!
She knew she should not have come by, and yet she could not give up on her baby. She didn't want to.
The child was innocent, and she needed money.
On the quiet street of the campus, Lauren's breathing became heavy as she walked with heavy footsteps. Both men had taken advantage of her! These men had an ulterior motive, even though she had known them for years.
She could only rely on herself now.
Lauren subconsciously clenched her fist. "Should I earn money first or look for evidence first?" Willy wanted something from her, so no matter what, she had to be strong!
He would prove her innocence. She believed that, but it wouldn't be any time soon. At this moment, Lauren knew how life felt like, before and after marriage.
She felt all kinds of emotions surging in her heart.
She didn't want to go back home, but it seemed that she had nowhere else to go When she was in a
trance, a pair of black men's leather shoes came into view. As she slowly looked up, she saw his black trousers and depressed expression in front of her.
Zedd?
"Lauren, I heard that you came back to work. I..."
Looking at her in the eyes, Zedd's face was flushed with embarrassment. "Are you hungry? I prepared some supper for you. Your favorite porridge and other side dishes."
After a pause, Zedd casually handed over a food container.
Her heart was full of pain, but Lauren just smiled coldly and looked at him with a hint of disdain.
White porridge and salted vegetables...
It probably didn't even cost ten dollars outside.
But in the past, just with this, she felt incredibly happy.
Lauren didn't even bother opening her mouth to respond. She just walked past him. "Lauren!" Zedd shouted. He turned back in a hurry and blocked her way again.
Lauren clenched her fists tightly, and she finally saw his shamelessness.
"So, do all men treat women like tools and springboards for their own achievements? What about you? Why did you approach me? Was it for those research and class questions?"
