Chapter 23: I’ll Make You Sleep With Me Willingly
Alvera did not show any fear. She raised her chin haughtily and fixed her eyes on Roland.
Roland's hand stopped less than a centimetre away from her face.
Alvera smiled coldly. "What's wrong?"
Roland grabbed her under the chin and said, "Don't make me do it."
"Roland, I wouldn't have called Andrina if you didn't insist to stay last night," Alvera said, her tone and
expression full of sarcasm. "We're both at fault here. You have no right to take the higher ground and
blame me."
...
"I've told you, don't regret your decision. I'm not going to let you off so easily. You asked to be my lawful
wife, and now you are, so it's only natural that we sleep together," Roland said.
"So what if it's legal? The marriage will only last for six months."
"So what if it's only six months?"
"What about it? I said I don't want to!" Alvera yelled, finally unable to hold in her anger.
...
"You don't want to? Finally, you can express your true feelings. Good, Alvera, just you wait, I'll make
you sleep with me willingly," he replied, flinging her to the side and leaving angrily.
...
Alvera's eyes were filled with coldness.
She will never sleep with him willingly, unless she was dead.
She got up, put on her clothes calmly, went downstairs and had breakfast.
"Becky," she said, while eating.
"Ms. Alvera, what can I do for you?"
"Do not breathe a word about whatever you heard or saw here today to anyone, especially Samuel. I
don't want him to worry."
"Yes, Ms. Alvera."
After her breakfast, Alvera went to the bank and withdrew another million dollars from Roland's card.
This was her punishment on him for angering her.
Terry broke out in cold sweat when he received the notification about the withdrawal.
He knocked on the door and walked into the CEO's office. "Mr. Francois."
...
"Yes?"
"One million dollars was withdrawn from the card you told me about yesterday," he said, making his
report short and to the point. He could tell that Roland was in a bad mood today.
...
"Find out where Alvera Earhart's money is going now," Roland replied and his expression was chilly.
"Yes."
Terry left and he felt relieved that Roland did not take his anger out on him.
Later that night, in the Mountain Club, Roland sat alone in the corner of a private room, surrounded by
the sounds of people socializing over alcohol and smoke.
...
He held a glass in his hand, his expression was dark and serious.
"Roland, wasn't Andrinas's operation successful?" Someone in the room teased him. "Why are you so
gloomy? Come on, let's have a drink together."
Roland rolled his eyes at him, silencing him immediately.
He was indeed very angry today.
He came here for entertainment to cheer himself up, but right now all he could think about was Alvera
Earhart.
...
"Damn it," he thought.
His phone rang from the table. He felt a little irritated when he saw Andrina's name on the caller ID.
This was her sixth call to him today.
Andrina had been calling him to check where he was all day since last night.
This feeling of being stalked annoyed him.
He would never have let her act like this if it weren't for that night four years ago when he took her
virginity.
He picked up the phone but did not say anything.
"Roland, where are you?" asked Andrina from the other end of the call.
"Mountain Club."
"Are you... still coming to the hospital?"
"Andrina, I've told you, stop calling me. I won't see Alvera."
"I'm sorry, Roland. I didn't want to bother you, but... but I just can't control myself. I don't know what's
wrong with myself. Don't blame me," she said and began to cry in a low voice.
Roland said irritatedy, "All right, I don't blame you. Andrina. It's late. You should go to bed early."
"Roland, wait a minute. You'll come and see me tomorrow, right?"
"Okay." He hung up the phone and left the club.
As soon as he got in the car, his cell phone rang again.
He was about to lose his temper when he saw that the call was from Terry.
He picked up the phone and heard Terry's respectful tone over the phone. "Mr. Francois, I've found out
where Ms. Alvera's money has gone."
