EPISODE 63 The special appearance
NEW YORK: IN MEAGAN’S HOME
The time was 7:00 am. Meagan had cried for several minutes until she fell asleep on the couch. She woke up, feeling thirsty and she made her way to the kitchen to grab water.
Meagan’s gaze caught the pregnancy test strip that she had dropped in the fridge few days ago but she couldn’t remember why it had ended up there. Her hands were shaking when she reached for the bottle of cold water.
Meagan managed to place the bottle on her mouth as she gulped down the whole liquid. A sharp pain in the lower part of her belly had her gripping onto the edges of the island. Meagan knew what was going on? She had researched about female humans carrying werewolf fetus in their wombs.
She figured that it won’t be easy carrying the baby because the werewolf genre is stronger in the baby since it carries the strong blood of an alpha. She read complications an asthmatic patient might encounter during the cause of carrying the pregnancy and even labor. And cesarean section was the only recommended option. The safest way to secure both the mother and child.
The sharp pains she had been feeling since three days ago is the first signs of a werewolf fetus in a human and it would be followed by morning sickness and extreme tiredness.
Deciding to quit her job was the best way to avoid stressing herself or the baby. She would take care of herself wherever she travelled to.
Last night, Meagan had embraced this new life she was about to take on. The life of a single mother. It won’t be easy but she is willing to take the risk of having the baby.
Meagan heard the doorbell jangle and she arched her eyebrows at the sound. Who could be at the door? But she remembered that she had ordered for a new water heater online few days again and it was to be delivered today.
Meagan drew in a deep breathe as she walked back to the sitting room. She moved to the door and opened it only to have her eyes widened in shock.
“Meagan.” He called her name in a rasp.
No, he can’t be here right? She is probably hallucinating his presence again. She couldn’t utter a single word but she did what came to her mind.
Meagan closed the door at his face. “Stop.. day dreaming.” She reopened the door again thinking he would have gone.
But alpha Carl Damien was right there looking at her. “You can’t be here.” Meagan tried to close the door again but his booted foot stopped her.
Their gaze met when she looked up at him after seeing his leather boot at the door. Alpha Carl Damien searched her face. His eyes did a slow crawl on her when she looked away. She was a mess. Her eyes was red and her face was swollen from crying too much last night.
“You shouldn’t be here. You should leave now. You-” Her voice trailed off when he pushed his way in and closed the door behind with his strong leg.
Alpha Carl Damien knew she would never let him in even though he asked politely. “Meagan, what’s wrong?” He tried to touch her face but she sidestepped him.
“You better go, alpha Carl.” She mumbled. Although she was still surprised that he was in her home. She knew Hazel must have given the alpha her home address.
“It’s too late. I can’t go back now. I don’t plan to go back without us talking things out.” Alpha Carl replied.
“There’s nothing we have to talk about. I already made it clear that I-”
“Have you been crying?” Alpha Carl cut off her sentence.
Meagan turned away. She didn’t expect that he would noticed that she had cried. “No.. no I didn’t cry. I just woke up not too long.” She sounded like she doesn’t care that he was here.
But deep down in her heart, she wanted to bury herself in the solid walls of his chest and cry so much. But Meagan held herself back by folding her arms. She planned to act like his presence here has no significance to her.
“Meagan, talk to me. Is there something wrong?” Alpha Carl asked in a calm tone.
“I want you to leave.” She muttered.
“I am not going to leave. I am here for a reason so I won’t be leaving until I get what I want.” Alpha Carl Damien replied with a serious look on his face.
Meagan knew one of her fears was slowly crawling into reality. The fear that the alpha is a strong willed wolf and he always get whatever he sets his mind on. She should be happy that there might be a chance that the alpha would want the baby but she doesn’t want to be like his pack members that depend on him to care for them. She doesn’t want to be stuck in a pack. She would stand her ground and not accept whatever the alpha ask of her.
Before she knew it, alpha Carl had her trapped to his body with one of his hands claiming her waist. Meagan didn’t try to wriggle out of the embrace instead she met an eye contact with him. A blank expression with no sign of emotions in her eyes.
Alpha Carl Damien has so much to say to her but she was making it too difficult. After storming off into the room to think about how to convince Meagan to agree to be his mate, minutes later he had called Hazel over the phone to give him Meagan’s home address.
The alpha bid them goodbye and asked Beta Julius to take care of the pack while he was away. He had drove out of the pack last night to make it to New York as early as possible before Meagan leaves for work.
This woman was making him do things he had never done before or what he never expected to do in his life. But one thing was certain he wasn’t leaving without her acceptance.
One of his hand reached for her chin as he titled her face to look deeper into her eyes. “Tell me again everything you said in the text message. I want to hear you say it to my face.”
Meagan was trying so hard not to cry so he won’t be so lovely with her. “We agreed to a secret affair not a relationship or even a life time commitment. I am not ready to date someone like you. I am not ready to spend the rest of my life with anyone.” She managed to get the words passed the tightness in her throat. She could feel the spark flaring up between them but she choose to ignore it.
